Great idea. The room is cleaned every day. Friendly staff. This beach and hotel is suitable for a relaxing family vacation. It is easy to reach the main tourist beaches of the island by taxi or bus. The beach, as it seemed to us, is the most beautiful, calm and clean. The only negative is the menu at the hotel, as well as the lack of more or less normal cafes in the village. We found a great cafe nearby (20 min walk along the coast)- much tastier and cheaper. We recommend it.
The fairy tale Hotel)) very fond memories of our stay at Shinagawa beach. Small, cozy, aesthetic. The reception is very beautifully decorated - minimalism and natural materials. Spacious rooms with panoramic windows, a balcony and crazy ocean views. The hotel has only 3 floors, but you will have a great view from each room. To the beach 1 min. The beach is incomparable, the ocean is without waves. In February, the water was like fresh milk, I didn't want to get out. The main advantage of the beach at the hotel is that there are no waves, and if there are any, they are quite comfortable to jump. Vacationers from neighboring hotels constantly came to our beach, because it is impossible to swim near one of the hotels, it washes into the ocean. Sun beds are located on the territory of the hotel on the grass, which is very convenient. The territory of the hotel is guarded even from the beach. From morning to evening, a guard stands there and opens the gate for you at the entrance and exit. Outsiders won't get through. Therefore, we calmly left our personal belongings, phones and laptops on the sun beds and went to the beach. There are also safes in the rooms. According to the diet, we took only breakfast. The breakfasts at the hotel are decent, we ate up to our bellies)) a large selection of everything and everything is delicious. We had dinner a couple of times in the same restaurant at the hotel according to the menu. Prices are Moscow + top service fee and 20% tax. The sockets are British, as in all of Sri Lanka, so take adapters. In principle, the reception is provided upon request.
The staff is another advantage of the hotel) everyone is very responsive, friendly, smiling, any request was immediately fulfilled.
The only disadvantage of the hotel is the distance to the infrastructure and cafes. There is nothing nearby) It takes 15 minutes to walk to the shops, to go to the market and cafes by tuk-tuk. But it didn't bother us, we knew where we were going and this beach with a hotel is worth a trip) That is, there is nothing to do here in the evening and there is nowhere to go, you need to go. We were satisfied with such a vacation. If you need parties, you need to go to another hotel) here is a quiet, relaxing holiday.
And I also forgot to say, from morning to evening, annoying beach fights hang out under the tree at kolitka. As soon as you get out, they attack with their services of tuk-tukers and cabbies - I'll take you there, I'll take you here. They are very annoying. They have a trick, if you were picked up by a beach boy on the first day, then you can no longer ride with others, only with him))) so on the first day we agreed with one to take us to the nearest market (for 1 dollar in total). Then he called for a long time on WhatsApp, and after we went somewhere on another tuk-tuk, he began to claim that we should only ride with him)) In general, do not give them promises and your phone numbers, then they will bother you less)
And always bargain, they start voicing the price tag from 3000 rupees per trip. So we went to Hikkaduwa for 1,500 rupees, to Bentota also for 1,500 rupees, in the area of 300-600 rupees.
We went from 01.02 to 10.02
The hotel is very good, the staff is excellent, the food is delicious, the beach is the best on the coast (we went to others, there is something to compare). There are few people, there are practically no waves. There are no shops near the hotel, but a 10-minute walk will take you to the central street of Balapitiya, where there is a cargils supermarket and a small market.
To use tuk tuk, download the pick me app, there you can see the approximate prices (so that the locals do not overestimate), and the tuk tuks themselves at every step, including near the hotel. There are a lot of locals standing behind the fence at the hotel on the way to the beach and offer guided tours and tuk tuks. Their prices are adequate, but they are very intrusive and deliver to "their shops" (tea, spice garden, liquor store, jewelry store), having their own commission. And they follow you like Velcro)
Therefore, we either took the bus, or tore a tuk tuk on the street by the road, and went where we needed to go ourselves.
Buses are very cheap, they run often, it's enough to ask the conductor if he goes where you need to go or not. You can view the schedule and numbers in Google maps, if necessary.
We wrote about local Ravi and Shahmal, who stand at the fence on the way to the beach, they give good prices for tuk tuk, but be prepared for intrusiveness and for the fact that they will take you to shops from which they have a commission.
Tours were taken via Instagram.
Nearby is the town of Bentota, where they bought tea and fruits. We went by bus to Hikkaduwa to the turtles and Galle fort.
Thanks to the hotel staff, all very good guys, special thanks to the general manager Fernando, who helped solve all our questions.
I happened to visit this hotel on 1.01-8.01 2025, we arrived at the hotel at 13.00 to check in, it immediately turned out that there were no two rooms for us (the host is Biblioglobus !!!!) The hotel manager said that the water had broken in the rooms and they were eliminating the consequences (as it turned out later, this was not true, the hotel was selling seats in advance and did not want to allow downtime) we were offered a 2* hotel to spend the night ( you should have seen this hotel, concrete floors . there is no Wi-Fi, there are 127 VOLT outlets that do not even charge the phone, the doors to the rooms do not close) after looking at what we were offered, we decided to return to Shinagawa with the idea that it would be better to sleep at the reception than not to wake up in another hotel.... arriving back in Shinagawa, we were surprised to find that the manager of the hotel was blown away , obviously he did not want to deal with us and listen to our claims , another manager who took over his post announced to us that we would be able to check in only at 24.00 . that is , 11 hours after the first appearance at the hotel ( and this after almost 24 hours on the road ) Biblioglobus was disappointed, as the host, they did nothing to speed up the settlement process. Sri Lanka did not cause us any excitement, but we wanted to visit it, not a foot there anymore
The hotel is just lovely, the rooms match the description and, indeed, all with ocean views! It's just great to wake up in the morning and see a gorgeous view from the window! Cleaning every day, in the bathroom all the accessories, including toothbrushes and even a shaving machine! The sun loungers are free, they are located on the territory of the hotel, and the water is only a few tens of meters away! This hotel HAS THE COOLEST BEACH!!! They came to us from neighboring hotels, where, by the way, the system is all inclusive! But they had big waves, and we have just paradise!! Entering the sea – clean sand!! The bottom is without a single pebble! They clean up every morning!
The service is excellent, but no one speaks Russian)But Google translator will save everyone) Wi-Fi is weak, sometimes they switched to mobile Internet, fortunately, they bought a SIM card right at the airport upon arrival.
But there are a number of points:
1. The restaurant in the hotel is weak and expensive. Many items from the menu were simply not available, but we still went somewhere every day, so there was no problem with that. The breakfasts were included and, as we read in the reviews about the hotel, they are really a bit monotonous: they don't do anything else except omelet from eggs. From fruits – passion fruit, pineapple, watermelon, bananas. There are pastries, but we liked only pancakes and waffles. Very delicious coffee! We, in principle, were satisfied with breakfast)). We had dinner there a couple of times, but, again, very little choice. By the way, the bar announced a 10% alcohol tax, we were charged all 26!! At first, after our questions, they recalculated, then they just shrugged and smiled, like, we have such taxes here! But nowhere else in any cafe in other localities did they take any taxes from us!!!
2. Indeed (again read in the reviews), the hotel is located in a locality (Balapitiya), not much adapted for tourists. To visit shops and have fun, you need to go to neighboring cities. But we quickly mastered local buses (crazy bus is another entertainment, cheaper and faster than tuk–tuks), so every day after the beach we left for different places, and had dinner there. In general, if you go to this hotel for "All inclusive", then it is not an option at all: there is no entertainment at all, only "seal" rest. There was live music a couple of times and that's it. Perhaps we arrived at the wrong moment).
In general, we really liked it!! I wouldn't change anything)) The hotel itself, like the beach, is really cool!!
The best hotel in this location!! Great beach. Near the Madu river where there are excellent restaurants. The hotel has a small but neat territory. Excellent breakfasts. Good and non-annoying staff. I advise you!
The hotel is very cool.
We were in August of the 23rd year.
The staff is set up as much as possible for the comfort of vacationers,
I have never seen such a service before, in quite budget hotels.
We rested for 10 days. We took 3 meals a day. And they did not lose .
There is simply no place to eat on your own in this area.
The hotel has a buffet breakfast and dinner. And lunch is something like a complex (soup, hot, dessert, drinks)
The food is very good (if you take Asia as a whole )
Of course, by the standards of a super Turkish hotel, it is more modest. But keep in mind that there are only 28 rooms for the entire hotel. That's why they don't cook a lot.
But at the slightest request, bring an omelet instead of scrambled eggs. Make a salad or replace, for example, carbonara (since I don't eat it. And she was on the set menu that day - they immediately changed it)
The drink includes coffee and tea. Alcohol and cocktails separately.
We also had a poorly freezing refrigerator in our room at first. At the first request, a new one was brought in 10 minutes. Without even thinking about it.
Cleaning every day.
The view from the room is simply bombastic.
All rooms face the sea.
In general, a great place for a secluded holiday!!
The cutest little hotel with a great location I've ever been to!With very friendly and responsible staff. He left the best memories of his stay on the island. I want to return to such hotels again and again. If you need to disconnect from the outside world and relax, then this is the place for you! A big plus is that in front of the hotel at the end of April, you could swim without waves and fears for your life, unlike in neighboring villages, where it is very stormy at this time of year.
The hotel is quiet and peaceful. A beautiful room overlooking the ocean. Three pools. One of them is in a zone of silence, i.e. children do not come, do not make noise and do not jump. It is necessary to find out whether people swim at the chosen time of the year on this coast. We were at the end of April - you can't go into the ocean, because the waves are very strong.
Super hotel really liked it, we recommend it to everyone!! Clean, cozy staff knows their business!!!! The beach is amazing beautiful well just if you are in Sri Lanka choose this hotel
A lovely little hotel! It's a pity that we stayed not in it , but in the RiU-a chain hotel nearby, a 15-minute walk away. We came to this hotel to swim - there is less war in this place , and also went to them to rinse off after the sea and to the bar . We appreciated the excellent service , convenient territory , responsive staff and more European service . I was also pleased with the cocktail list (not comparable to our hotel), the quality of the drinks. Milkshakes and delicious ice cream were appreciated by my daughter!
A great hotel with a clean beach, monitor lizards walk along the territory. The cuisine is very decent, mostly Germans were in the hotel

The best hotel! The staff is very friendly and smiling.
The view from the rooms is a picture I couldn't get enough of.
There are very few people here, as the hotel itself is not big - this is a huge plus! It really feels like an island in the ocean 😍 a secluded and quiet place, just what you need to relax!
The ocean is clean, the waves are not dangerous! You can swim calmly and comfortably, people from other hotels came to our beach a couple of times to swim, since their waves are huge and it was impossible to enter the ocean.
If you want to really relax and feel the beautiful island life, come here!
It does not pull at 5 stars at all. The service is disgusting. But, this is smoothed out by the views from the window, especially at sunset.
There is nowhere to eat nearby, the nearest place is 2 km away on foot. (We were in January 22, a lot of things were closed due to the pandemic, perhaps institutions will gradually open)
The sea is at 3. Periodically there were algae. Hikkaduwa has much clearer water and fewer waves. But there is practically no one on the beaches here, I want to take a break from people - you are here
In the realities of Sri Lanka, this is one of the decent hotels. But again, in the realities of this country. In Europe or even in Turkey, such a service is simply impossible.
The rooms, like the hotel itself, are relatively clean.
The staff is stupid and speak English poorly. Hence the bulk of the problems of staying at the hotel.
