The hotel has only 8 rooms, we got on the ground floor next to the entrance, with a window on the highway street, we only came to the room to sleep and wash. The room itself was not bad, there was a safe (quiet, calm, no theft), air conditioning and a ceiling fan, even when it was cool, turned off. I caught a good five-way right in the room. A great shower, there is always hot water, pour wherever you want, there were no puddles. There is no hair dryer, girls take your own. There are some problems with toilet paper, we got 1 roll on our arrival, then take care of yourself). The bed linen and towel were never changed, the bed was really made and the trash was taken out every day. We survived it with dignity. There was a power outage, the owners turned on the generators, they did not notice any discomfort. There are only 2 types of breakfast available, either English (egg, toast, sausages) or Sri Lankan (local flatbreads). On the third floor you can sit in the evening, eat fruits, drink drinks. You can ask for a fee to cook fish / shrimp, which you will buy yourself at a nearby market (800 meters). The ocean is also 800 meters away, 10'15 minutes on foot, there is also a beach for fishing and surfing, so to swim normally (clean sand, light waves) you need to take a tuk tuk and go, so as such there is no beach nearby, 2 km from Unawatuna, we went there, for four 1000 rupees, this about 300 rubles for all one way. The hotel is located on the road, the window was not opened, so we slept peacefully, there is no terrible audibility. The owners are very calm, sometimes it's annoying, then they just resigned themselves) we are all in a hurry to go somewhere), smiling, it is possible to convey information to them. If you want to see off sunsets and meet sunrises by the sea, then this hotel is not your choice, you either have to walk a lot or ride a tuk tuk. But there are all sorts of interesting things. For example, there is a railway station nearby, the train rarely runs, but you can buy tickets at the ticket office and take a ride, the road is no worse than on the 9-arch bridge), atmospheric. You can also drive to Galle in the fort, at a cost similar to Unawatuna. You can also buy fruits, local food, an alcohol market, regular shops, a fish market near the beach and the railway, in short, it is very colorful. Things don't dry well in the room, the owners have a special dryer outside, they dried it on it, before our departure, the owner brought it into a separate room under a fan, by morning everything was dry. In general, it's not bad, depending on what your requests are. For example, if you want to eat in the evening in Unawatuna, beautifully dressed (dress, makeup), then you will have to drive back and forth, since there are no normal restaurants near this hotel. Or you will have to go to a restaurant from the beach, and then come to wash and relax on the third floor of the hotel.
Yes, the hotel has dogs, I also took out food for them, although they bark, they are good-natured.
Nice hotel, cozy. There are only eight rooms and only two with a balcony on the second floor overlooking the road. The highway is uninhabited and transport does not interfere at night. Cows graze under the windows during the day. It takes about 7 minutes to walk to the ocean along the same road. The staff consists of two people who do not speak Russian (use English or sign language)
4 stars because the dampness in the room on the ground floor, if I'm not mistaken, then room 2. There is no view from the window, there is a concrete wall in front of it, the curtains cannot be opened, the room is in constant darkness, without daylight.
