A great place for walking and visiting attractions and museums, in the place where Soviet troops were the first to fight the German invaders in 1941. You can see a lot for free, take pictures, etc. The cost of museums is acceptable (except for the military, there is the Berestye Museum of local lore and a craft shop) before, the guy rented out military clothes, now he did not find them. I had a great time in my free time.
The memorial complex itself is made in the best traditions. Everything is solemn, monumental. It is worth visiting and showing to the younger generation. The disadvantage is that there are few guides. We arrived at 16 o'clock. The guides work until 17 o'clock. In summer, the flow of tourists increases, and the daylight hours are longer. You can work at least up to 19 hours. An inspection without information does not give anything.
A sacred place. It is a long-standing dream for me to visit here! Guides are a separate topic. They tell it very well, competently! To tears. Thanks! Eternal memory to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War!
A tour with tears in my eyes... You feel pain and pride at the same time. Powerful and incredible! Be sure to visit, especially now, when they are trying to pour another story about WWII into the ears of the whole world and ourselves
The Brest Fortress is a monumental place, how many emotions and feelings remain here when you walk through the premises and structures. You feel a lot of exciting moments touching stones and bricks, how many people died and blood was shed here. I strongly recommend everyone to visit the fortress and book an excursion, it is imperative to take children here so that everyone remembers and knows what price peace on earth comes at.
Everything has been restored very well and beautifully. The territory is very large. But! There is one big BUT! There are a lot of museums on the territory and you need to pay for each one separately! If you add up the prices of all the museums and take into account that you are going there not alone but with your family, then the result is a very round sum! And the souvenirs there are absolutely golden! Pens for 5-8 rubles to sell, this is too much, comrades!
The memorial is simply colossal. The beauty and the scale are impressive. Plus the sound design. All together, it creates an atmosphere that gives you the creeps. You need to visit here and breathe in this air, feel the spirit of history and greatness.
We were on June 22 at the reconstruction of the beginning of the war. I didn't like that nothing was organized for people. There is no place to look from the word at all. If you're not a tall man, you won't see anything at all
There are no insignificant or unimportant objects on the territory of the Brest Fortress. The whole territory is a place of fierce fighting and living history without the exemplary heroism of Soviet soldiers and officers.
We came to Brest in October for 5 days. They lived right at this gate. I am delighted with the fortress! I can't convey the feeling.... Especially if you walk in the evening in a thick fog ..
I really liked it. A clean story. Legendary places. You understand how important this place is for the memory and life of our generations. I recommend it to everyone to visit
A legendary place! Everything is steeped in history, impressive and exciting, you understand the greatness of the feat of the defenders of the fortress
To be honest, it's a little weak. The museum is a three-piece. The catacombs are closed!!!! Just go take a picture! Before Brest, Russians are waiting for a traffic police post, where cars with Russian license plates are stopped and you will have to pay for all violations on the territory of Belarus!!! The terminal is right at the post!!! Or they take the STS!!!
This museum complex is a monument to the courage and heroism of our grandfathers. The complex is maintained at the highest level. The atmosphere there is mesmerizing. The cleanliness is just the most unusual
Brest fortress. Comments are unnecessary. A very strong place. Everyone needs to visit in order to touch that feat at least a little and pass it on to descendants
This is an amazing place! A place of memory, peace, awareness! There is not even a day here to get acquainted, look at, comprehend! I don't want to leave! The shrine will not leave you indifferent! On June 22, the annual reconstruction of the beginning of the war is held. (I haven't been there myself, but according to the stories of the staff, it's worth visiting!) There is an opportunity to be sure to visit!
It is part of the complex of the defensive defensive structure of the BREST fortress. Everything here is saturated with the heroic deeds of our grandfathers!!
You definitely need to visit!!
The entrance to the Kobin fortifications, in the summer, reconstructions for the beginning of the war take place next to this place. There is a temple nearby.
Dedicated to all those who fell in the defense of the Brest fortress. This was the end point of our motorcycle ride from Moscow to Brest, which we reached on the second day. Our guide Dmitry was waiting for us, an enthusiastic historian who devoted his life to studying the history of the fortress, searching and translating archival documents, mostly German ones, from which, bit by bit, pictures of that horror, courage and human tragedies open minute by minute. Walking around the fortress is interesting and painful at the same time. Several thousand defenders of the fortress are still buried in shell craters, which are now covered with lawn and rolled up paths. It is painful to see the hacky restoration brickwork against the background of the remains of perfectly made and laid bricks of the tsarist period. That's where you think about irretrievably lost construction technologies. And what amazing stories about the engineering features of fortifications can be heard from Dmitry. Not only to hear, but also to see, having visited places where excursions are not taken, crowds do not go, and many do not even realize what an important role these two inconspicuous redoubts played in history. Before visiting the fortress, I recommend watching feature films about the defense of the Brest fortress. And of course I recommend looking for Dmitry with his unusual excursion. He has his own VK page. Official guides - they know little except for a memorized program for 40 minutes, they will lead you through the newly made monuments, tell you the official versions of well-known historical facts. But that's not it. Don't be like everyone else.
The Northern Gate was our starting point in exploring the Brest Fortress. You can drive a car through them a little further into the parking lot, but there were no places there, so we left the car at the North Gate. The parking lot is quite large, but it is also almost completely filled. We arrived at about 10 a.m., and when we left, there were no seats either on the territory or at the Northern Gate. Be careful, you can drive through the North Gate with one car in each direction!
I was with my family in the Brest fortress on August 24th . And to be honest, it's a complete disappointment ! I expected something completely different! And my assessment is so low not because of the place, but because of the attitude of the locals to the memorial! Of course I understand everything, but this is a place of strength, a place of sorrow, and a place where people showed great courage! And what did I see? Some kind of park where teenagers walk through the ruins , not a drop of respect . Where some dad and his son are traveling and turned on a portable speaker with music for the whole thing . Where at the entrance with a star under " Moscow says" to suck some incomprehensible utyrki and so on. And it's all local. Not a drop of respect for such a place ! And the complex itself is clearly "tired", it needs an update and money. Eternal memory to the heroes of the fortress! And eternal shame on those who treat her like that!
Entering these gates of the fortress, you get to the area of the Kobrin fortification, where exhibition halls were opened on the left side of the road. Previously, there were just casimates, which I walked freely about 20 years ago. What can you see there now: 1. A funnel from an 1800 kilogram bomb dropped on the fortress, 2. A dummy of this bomb itself in the exhibition hall, 3. In the exhibition hall, we are offered a documentary film, 23 minutes, memories of the defenders of the fortress, it is not available on the Internet. I was touched by their stories. 4. Go through the casimates. Entrance is paid. Be sure to come in to honor the memory of the heroes.
A heavy place energetically...The Great Confrontation..The power of the Spirit and Will is present in every meter..every stone feels like a pain in the heart...a huge fortification.there are several museums on the territory, recreations in wax figures of various excerpts from the life of the inhabitants of the fortress, a stunning monument, a large memorial to the defenders...
Now it's just the entrance to the fortress and nothing unusual. Overall, the overall impression is strong of everything. Especially the bullet-riddled walls.
It's wonderful that we can keep what we can't forget.
Do not forget to take the children here and listen to the guide. These are not tiktoks and seals.
It's very beautiful, as if you get into the same scary time, goosebumps. There were several times and each time a different impression (preferably with a guide)
