It is forbidden to enter the park with animals, I watched as one married couple left their two dogs on a leash at the entrance.. it takes about 20 minutes to walk, at the bottom you will see a lot to take a photo with the landmark, However, there is a stand nearby broadcasting that General Sherman is not the tallest and not the oldest in this park.
