I was here in early February with my mother. We have been looking for a place with a good Korean BBQ in Almaty for a long time, as we have been to Korea many times and we really love this part of Korean cuisine and culture. The atmosphere inside is pleasant, the restaurant itself is small, it smells of grilled meat (which only adds atmosphere). The choice of meat is good - you can find both marinated and non-marinated, marbled beef, plain beef, and pork. I was especially pleased with the thinly sliced beef slices on the menu, as this is our favorite type of meat. It tastes great, like in Korea.
I would like to say separately about kimchi - so far it is the only place where kimchi is really tasty and spicy, not over-salted. My mom and I have been searching for true Korean kimchi for a very long time and found it only here. And, like the icing on the cake, we were allowed to roast kimchi with meat, which was also very gratifying, because it was incredibly delicious, but in some similar BBQ restaurants we were forbidden to roast kimchi without explanation.
The waiters are polite, they do their job well, we were served by a very nice girl.
To sum up, mom was satisfied, and so was I. We ate enough meat for a few days ahead, and we'll definitely come back)
I've been here 2 times - I'm not coming here except for the barbecue anymore. I ordered kimbab (rolls) with eel, breaded chicken in sauce and rice with meat. Rolls - look at a super thin strip of very heavily pickled eel, well, this is certainly too small a portion of eel, even funny! The eel is felt as it is very salty, but it is terribly small!
A hot bowl of rice with beef- there is almost no beef there, in the photo the brown stripes are mushroom stalks, there are no mushroom heads here either, oddly enough, but a bunch of rice and other vegetables. They also said - if you order with fish, then there are almost no vegetables at all, and if with meat, then there are a lot of vegetables and mushrooms!!! Well, honestly, so-so! I told the manager, to which they replied - these are our portions, these are Korean recipes, but sorry, I was in Korean restaurants in London and even there they put more meat and normal mushrooms with hats, and we are also in Kazakhstan (!) where meat is very loved, it is not so expensive and therefore the recipe needs to be adjusted to Kazakh taste preferences!!!! There is no beef in McDonald's in India!!!
Then I ordered chicken in sweet and sour sauce - if cooked correctly, this is a superbly delicious spicy-sweet crispy dish, but here it's trash - the chicken can be seen from all sorts of different parts of different breasts it was cooked - somewhere fresh and soft, somewhere already dry, so the quality of the chicken is unstable, plus the sauce is with oranges (!what does oranges have to do with it?) and it's not spicy at all- in short, a dish for a single plus, plus for a crispy crust!!
I will note that I came on Saturday evening, the restaurant is half empty, make the right conclusions, owners and readers - it is not worth wasting time, money and space in the stomach on expensive and very hasty food!
And Japanese linden tea was the only one where there were so many tea leaves that it was impossible to drink tea from bitterness, almost 2 teapots of boiling water had to be asked to somehow dilute this coolest brew! It would be better to put meat in a rice dish like that! In general, I left in such a state and I think it is very important to write this not very good review and warn the reader!
The meat is delicious!!! We fry it ourselves. A large selection of soju! We liked the plum flavor. They bring a lot of snacks. The service is good! Simpler clothes are better, you smell like meat after frying😁
