Sarymsakty is a mountain range in the Southern Altai. The length is about 60 km. The maximum height is 3373 m (Berkutaul). It is bounded in the north by the valley of the Bukhtarma River, in the south by the Kurchum River and the Kurchum ridge. It borders the Tarbagatai Ridge to the east, and the Southern Altai Ridge to the southeast. Along the gorge along the Sarymsak River there is a picturesque hiking trail through a beautiful cedar forest, interspersed with subalpine meadows, mountain lakes and a waterfall. Many medicinal herbs grow here, such as Leucea sophloroidea, rhodiola rosea, rhodiola coldica, leafy syusserea, ochitki and many others. In the cedars, you can find a chipmunk, a squirrel, and an Altai pika. Of the birds - cedar, jay, wood owl. Wild boars and bears are frequent visitors to cedar forests.
