The hotel is large, well located - within walking distance from the Old Town (approx. 10 minutes on foot). There are grocery stores nearby, and there is ready-made takeaway food. The Internet is working (once I was absent all evening due to a breakdown). The staff is polite, but not everyone speaks Russian. The room for two turned out to be too small and awkwardly located, there was only room for one bedside table and one chair (and there were two of us ...). The refrigerator did not work (brought another one), the TV system did not work (replaced), the air conditioning system did not cool, the toilet almost did not flush (spit, resigned, adjusted). Despite the daily inclusion of a banner about the need for cleaning, they began to clean only on the 5th day (it turned out they had to leave a key at the reception, which is only 1m away! Ex.). Water, shampoos, and tea were brought only after a reminder. Breakfast is included, but.... to put it mildly, it could have been tastier and more diverse, besides, everything ended quickly. We can continue, but let's stop.
All this cost more than 10 tr. per day for our money.
In general, on the 1st day, the guide informed that Baku is an expensive city. And he was absolutely right!
But we must pay tribute - Baku is very beautiful, clean and well-groomed, which more than covered all the negative aspects.
The location of the hotel is 6 out of 5.
7 minutes to the metro, 8 to the old town, 15 to the embankment, 10 to fountain Square. From the hotel to the beaches (Mardakan, beyond the airport) 40 minutes and 12-15 manats.
There are a lot of shops around the hotel: BRAVO 2 pieces and spar 1 piece.
The staff of the hotel is adequate, many speak or understand Russian.
Breakfast.. leaves much to be desired in terms of choice. Everything is fresh and delicious, but there is little choice. But they can cook something at your request, an omelet for sure, my imagination was not enough for more.
The rooms themselves, although old, are generally not shabby, there is a shower in the bathroom, in single and executive. I couldn't manage the cleaning schedule. The first week was cleaned every day, then every other time..
I haven't been to other hotels in Baku, I can't compare them. Next time, I would quite stop right there, if the price allows.
Excellent hotel: excellent location, 7 minutes walk to the Old Town, historic building of the early 20th century. The rooms are spacious, clean, and cozy. Kettle, tea, coffee in the rooms, bottles of water every day. Excellent sound insulation- quiet, the neighbors did not interfere with sleeping. Varied and delicious breakfasts. Friendly staff.
