Previously, the city was surrounded by a city wall of about 12 km and 11 gates. Two of them have been preserved in their original form, some have been restored, like the Samarkand Gate. The architecture is striking, beautiful and reliable. The gate was closed after sunset until morning. It has now been restored to the place where it used to be
The magnificent gates that absorbed the sorrow and joy of the Great History of Bukhara, it's great that they were restored because they are part of our history
A very beautiful ancient city, 2500 years of history! Amazing atmosphere and architecture, I enjoyed spending time there! I recommend it to anyone who is interested in history and Oriental culture
Uzbekistan is a Republic with a very rich and interesting history, the cities of Shakhrisabz and Samarkand especially liked it, but Bukhara and Tashkent also did not disappoint!!!
Samarkand Gate is one of the 12 gates of Bukhara. Recently restored, this gate was destroyed in the last century. It was possible to pass through this gate to Samarkand.A beautiful landmark
Taak. Samarkand Gate. A particularly unusual historical structure. The collars are big, heavy and fabulous. You can enter from one side, and exit from the other side. Mmda.
An interesting place from the point of view of the history and architecture of the city. You can walk to these gates from anywhere in the city and there will be a long road outside the gate. It was laid like that several centuries ago. There are shops along the way, you can buy tortillas and samsa, there is a cafe for locals. The road leads to the historical sites and the heart of the city
It's not particularly interesting, just a building at the end of the street leading out of the old town onto the usual ring road. The gate is closed, no one is around. With such historical wealth, the city would have to establish infrastructure for tourists, there would be a golden bottom (and so, wherever you look, the feeling that it is supported on its word of honor for pennies is barely alive, smeared with clay, plastered with plaster. Sadly. And impoverished artisans are trying to sell their wares
In the final part and the beginning of the city of Bukhara, after you get inside these gates, you will see how the new Bukhara began and waited against the background of the old Bukhara. Intimate places and every little turn into some street may seem like a maze to you, very intimate streets are old houses from the ancient atmosphere of our beloved city.
Through this gate, access to the old town from the center. You can walk through these gates and be surprised how beautiful Bukhara is inside, they don't even reach the historical and cultural monuments
Every time I visit this museum, inside there is a lot of data about the Persian Empire, Alexander the Great, about his conquests, an old map of the world, and models of local inhabitants before the foundation of Tajikistan.
When you visit, say that you are from another city in Tajikistan, for example Dushanbe) since it is cheaper for locals, but for tourists the entrance ticket is more expensive. Perhaps you may look different from the locals) but the main thing is to speak confidently)
