The museum needs an urgent refurbishment.
First there should be signs directing to museum. Parking is not available.
The old lady guide was very nice and welcoming but the museum was in bad condition.
A review from my mother: "At the end of October, we traveled with our daughter to Uzbekistan. In Samarkand, one day was dedicated to museums. At the Sadriddin Aini House Museum, where his bust is installed in a cozy courtyard, we were greeted warmly. To listen to a lecture on the life and work of a famous writer, we were invited to sit on the terrace of the house, where busts of prominent figures of his time were located. I listened to the guide's fascinating story as if I were watching a movie: the images of people were so vivid, and the historical and geographical facts were curious and amazing. It was interesting to find out that Tajik Sadriddin wrote not only in his native language, but also in Uzbek. Then we got acquainted with the house where Aini Sadriddin lived and worked. We saw the interior, felt the atmosphere. The simplicity of the prominent man's life was striking: despite the scale of his personality and contribution to history and culture, he lived very modestly. Visiting the museum left a pleasant impression and a feeling of gratitude for preserving the memory of a worthy person. I recommend that all history lovers include a visit to this wonderful museum in their travel plan."
The museum is a must-visit at the very beginning of your vacation in Samarkand! A wonderful lecture by the head of the museum, for the two of us they told the whole history of Uzbekistan on the example of the incredible life of an excellent writer, whose stories I immediately wanted to read!!! You won't regret going!
