This place is valuable for its history and location. The cozy homely atmosphere of old Istanbul. On the walls of the cafe there are clippings from old newspapers with notes and articles about the owner of this institution and his kefteshkas. In general, it seems that now the founder's business is continued by his descendants. But this is not accurate. Once inside, it creates a complete feeling that you have come to visit, and not to a cafe. The setting is very simple. In some places, it even seems that it's too much, considering that this is still a catering point. The menu is very simple, we couldn't mention something super tasty, and we didn't like some dishes (lentil soup, for example) at all. Their signature dish is kefta and they really weren't bad. I can't guarantee that they will taste identical to those that are sold downstairs at the entrance to the cafe, because they are not known how long they are ready there, and in the cafe they are prepared to order. If you are interested in personally checking the recommendations of bloggers, looking at the Istiklal from above and having a little snack, then welcome. I would not order anything except kefta and a dish similar to cheburek, to be honest. Despite the fact that I am very picky about the quality of food and service, the place is atmospheric and the people working here are also very nice and hospitable, so I do not raise my hand below 3 ⭐️.

It's not easy to find)) Look for the sign on the wall, further along the back corridor and to the right up the stairs to the fifth floor. We ordered a set of Kahramanmaras Plate for two and ate too much for two. Individually, you can order kubbe separately for 90 lire, if it seems too little in the process. The feed is fast. Teas and coffee are priced at the dining room, not the restaurant. That's also a plus. The food is delicious, but I wouldn't say that I'm back again, as there are so many things in Istanbul that I still want to try)
