The guest house is guarded by a huge Cane Corso dog, which periodically walks alone without a leash. The owner does not warn about this, we had to retreat behind the gate on the first day in the evening, because she is not always calm, and not everything is under control, as Batal claims. A couple of times she made not very pleasant gestures with barking in our direction. And not only ours, as it turned out later. When I wrote to the owner that we could not step over this dog to go outside, he informed us that we had come to visit her, she lives here. They don't charge money for guests, and if they do, they warn us that we came to the dog, and not to the owners. It's time to write about hospitality... The owner greets every other time, his son (if it's a son) does not greet at all, even when he knocks on the door. Utah settled us in almost silence, did not explain anything about washing, ironing, cleaning, etc. It is very strange to greet with a smile and receive silence in response. Cleanliness: we went in, it seemed clean, but there was a bag and a tube of drops from previous tenants lying next to the bed, the window had not been washed for years, in my opinion. Plus, big bedbugs are crawling into the room somewhere. There are spots on the bed linen, it was changed once, and they are on the other one too. The pillows are made of brick. It feels like they're from the Soviet era. Location:the center, but if you check in with windows facing the road, then there will be very loud karaoke until 11. Conditioner:it seems to be there, but you can't use it, it buzzes like an airplane, the wall vibrates. Internet: I warned you that we would be working. Fortunately, you bought a SIM card, you can't work, the Internet disappears periodically. The owner will say that he bought another router, but....this is a cheap tp-link with a factory defect (I handed them over to the store myself, the marriage of this model is confirmed) - there is a connection, the Internet is constantly breaking. It will be critical for someone. The kettle did not work in the room initially (it was replaced, but it could have been done by arrival), the refrigerator is noisy, there is no bottom in the drawer table. The maid goes every day, but if there was no paper or shampoo, then you had to ask for some reason. We still did not understand this order, it would be nice to either explain it at check-in, or print memos. In short, they suffered for two weeks, paid for, then moved to another place for 5 days, where they received hospitality, freedom, cleanliness, normally working equipment for the same money. It's a pity that they didn't do it right away. It feels like the hosts are just tired of everything, the supply of hospitality has run out. Just in case, I'll write that we are very calm guests, we don't break anything, we don't brawl, we don't drink. I see that there are few reviews here and all are old. It's a pity that people don't write everything in detail, it would be useful to others. We had several tenants who disappeared very quickly.
Excellent location in the center of Mount Athos, on cypress alley, the territory is fenced. There is a parking lot
The hosts are super cool, responsive.
All issues were resolved very quickly.
There is a cafe on site!
Room cleaning every other day, which is very captivating!
A wonderful guest house! There are only ten rooms, the 11th is occupied by the owners, who themselves deal with all issues of guest service. Clean rooms, clean bed linen, washing machine and iron in the lobby. I recommend a place to relax.
We stayed at the GD "Riviera" in June 2021. The guest house is perfect for long stays and short tours to N.Athos, as it is located within walking distance from all the main attractions of the city and the area!
The owners- Batal and his wife Yuta- are extraordinary people. Everything is clean and tidy, everything is new, and Utah will also feed you homemade breakfasts, lunches and dinners! I recommend it 100%%
