THE BEST IN MANDREM
A wonderful hotel, attentive staff, requires renovation, of course, but for India I would even put a solid 4. A large, well-maintained territory, two swimming pools, two gyms, a restaurant, a separate banquet hall.
The rooms are separate houses. The room is clean, cleaning every day, towels are changed every day, tea accessories and water were replenished every day. There is a safe (although you can carry it in your hands), air conditioning, wi-fi is not working well. An iron was brought on request. Quietly, we woke up in the morning to the sound of birds singing.
The breakfasts are average, lots of Indian food, no cheese. You can order an omelet or scrambled eggs, pancakes with Indian filling. Fruits include bananas, papaya, and pineapple.
The beach is 100 m wide and clean. There are no sun beds.
You can walk along the beach to Arambol, where there are shops and cafes.
We went to the food planet for lunch, and to the dunes for dinner.
Good morning, everyone!
We made the choice of the hotel quite quickly, as the first hotel we got to did not meet expectations. The hotel turned out to be not cheap — we paid 7,500 rupees for three people (one bed) with breakfast, but the breakfasts were plentiful. In the evening, when we arrived, it was already dark, and the first thing that caught my eye was the territory. It is so densely planted with various trees and flowers that it is impossible not to pay attention to it! The hotel is clean and well maintained.
We got the room from the old room stock (besides, the building was being renovated). Yes, they hammered in the morning, but we got up early — at 7 a.m. local time — and went to breakfast, and then to the beach. As for the breakfasts, I don't need much, but they are really more adapted to the locals, that is, rather Indian. Scrambled eggs and omelets were cooked to order: you tell the waiter, and he brings it (although this usually happened when we were about to leave). There was yogurt and sliced fruits, but I think that's what people get poisoned from. Some cupcakes were dry, and the pancakes were baked every other day (with honey and chocolate). Also, every other day they gave something like thinly sliced boiled doctor's sausage. We cooked a local pancake dosu (with or without potatoes) — it was delicious and crispy. There were also various Indian dishes, but we are not fans of this.
The milk in the coffee was curdled a couple of times. The restaurant itself looked dirty: the tables and chairs on the street did not seem to have been wiped. I wiped the table with a napkin and was unpleasantly surprised — it turned black. The staff nods, but 99% of them do not speak English. However, everyone is very friendly.
After breakfast, we went to the beach. The beach is very nice — sparsely populated. We occupied sun beds to the right of the bridge in the shek, and sometimes we ate there. The advantage of these sunbeds is that this shek takes money from merchants (tax) if they approach vacationers. Therefore, few sellers want to share their money, so only one female seller sometimes comes up, but not obsessively. There is something to compare it with: when we went left along the beach to the surfers, the sellers really got there every 5 minutes.
The beach is sandy — even if you go deep, you can meet hermit crabs and starfish at most. The sunsets are magnificent! Arambol can be reached from the hotel in 30 minutes by a brisk walk along the beach. In the morning, you can see fishermen on the beach taking out nets — it's interesting, but you need to come early, around 7:45.
Upon returning from the beach after sunset, the entire hotel area is treated with disinfectants — the smell is terrible. Sometimes you're already in the room, and the smoke comes through the doorways — it's not very pleasant. The cleaning of the room was normal, there was no sand left. However, if gel or shampoo ran out in stationary containers, they were not replenished. If you call the service, they bring mini bottles - it's inconvenient. Once there was a manager during the cleaning, and I did not miss the opportunity to tell him about the poor service and how long we waited for the shampoo to be replenished. Showing the manager a place where there is no shampoo, I noticed that even toilet paper was not put after cleaning. I started the conversation a little more firmly about paper (there is a mini-shower in the bathroom), but paper is still needed — the cases are different. After 5 minutes, shampoo and gel for stationary containers were brought to me, as well as 5 rolls of toilet paper.
In general, we will return to the hotel!
I really liked it, especially the gym)), there are separate classes in wrestling, Thai boxing, good guys of the coach. There is a separate gym on two floors with showcase windows overlooking the pool and the ocean, a hammam and a sauna. The hotel itself is one of the best in the area with air conditioning, floor-to-ceiling Windows, overlooking the river and the ocean. European cuisine, three minutes and you're already on the beach)).
