The hotel is just super tact, the polite guys are the hosts, they even made us a romantic cake for our wedding anniversary, the breakfasts are simple and the dinner is good, I'll be happy to come back and this hotel,
Good afternoon! There are not many options to soak up the warm ocean in February. We had the Maldives in our dreams and spontaneously we decided to make this dream come true.We looked at many hotels and islands and first made a choice in favor of a good hotel on the island of Maafushi. But when I found out that in addition to the local population there is also a prison, I decided that it was better to pay extra and choose an island hotel. The choice fell on Richiveli. I want to tell you and give you some tips to make your vacation go great. After booking a hotel and buying tickets for a direct flight from Moscow to Male (the capital of the Maldives) by Aeroflot, I contacted the hotel and booked a speedboat transfer from the airport to the hotel, specifying the arrival and departure dates, arrival and departure times and flight numbers. After receiving a reply letter (in English) that they would be waiting for us, we began to prepare for the trip. Upon arrival at the airport, a representative of the hotel was waiting for us in the meeting area with a sign of the name of the hotel. After attaching tags with the name of the hotel to our suitcases and collecting two more French families who had arrived earlier and were waiting for us on the way, he escorted us to the boat. The boat trip was one hour and flew by unnoticed. Upon arrival on the island, the hotel staff was waiting for us at the pier.
After getting off the boat, accompanied by the "chief of the bungalow))" we went to the reception, the suitcases were left on the pier, later they were brought by cart to our bungalow. The island is not large, about 300 meters in length, all surrounded by greenery of coconut palms and other trees. The receptionist was waiting for us at the reception and after treating all the arrivals with young coconuts, taking their passports and entering them into the database, he gave us memos with a schedule of events taking place on the island (see photo). If you have difficulties with foreign languages, install a translator on your smartphone and you will have no problems communicating. The staff communicates with vacationers in English, French and you can find someone in Italian. Russian Russian speakers are only the administrator from the SPA, he himself is from Sri Lanka, but he loves Russia very much and speaks a little Russian. But all our requests and wishes were always heard by the staff and fulfilled. If you prefer to meet the dawn or see off the sunset, you can write in advance to the hotel of your preference on which side you want to book a bungalow (see the island diagram in the photo). We asked on the east side and were given a bungalow under the name BONITE, it's in sector B. I recommended sectors A and B. The bungalows are located near the water, in the shade of trees, opposite there are depressions in the bottom, the so-called "baths" and even at low tide when the depth is knee-deep everywhere, they will be no shallower than waist-deep. Bungalows on the island are equipped with both air conditioning and a fan. Our bungalow was equipped with a fan, it had one room and a small shower room with a toilet and a sink with a low ceiling. The bungalows are not new and the furniture is accordingly, but they carry a Maldivian flavor). The double bed is wide but short, so that the legs, with a height above 180 cm, will hang down. There is a kettle in the room, water in a thermos (brought daily), if there is not enough water, then they will pour it for free at the bar. There is tea, coffee, sugar, mosquito fumicator, ants, cockroaches and newts. We did not meet mosquitoes, but there was a "holy war" with ants). But it didn't bother us. We slept with a fan at night, but with an air conditioner, perhaps we can forgive. There is no safe in the room, but there is at the reception. Or better yet, lockable suitcases and everything will be fine, we have nothing missing. The room is cleaned daily, and beach towels are also changed daily. Next to the bungalow there is a hammock, 2 armchairs and 2 sun beds, an umbrella and a broom.WI-FI is available at the reception, in the bar and restaurant, you will be given a password with a memo (see photo).
We took accommodation with breakfast, we don't have lunch, dinner at the bar cost us about $ 50 for three people without alcohol, in the restaurant the buffet per person costs $ 40.Remember that all prices must be multiplied by 1.24, these are taxes and you will receive the amount to be paid, on the island all prices are indicated without taxes! Therefore, calculate how it will be more profitable for you. The food in the bar is also delicious as in the restaurant. You do not need to pay immediately. They bring you a receipt in which you put your signature, write the name of the bungalow and your last name.In the evening, they are brought to the reception and the next day it will be possible to pay in cash or by card, see which is more profitable at the ruble exchange rate. I advise you not to save checks for all the time and pay at the end of the rest, as the administration advises, you can't figure it out without a bottle). And pay every 2 days, as long as you remember what you ordered. And take pictures of the receipts so that it's easier to check and then I won't shortchange you. There are expensive drinks, a bottle of Cola is $ 5, so we brought 2 packages of Pepsi and Fanta with us and did not deny ourselves anything. If you can't do without alcohol and want to save money, then buy at home and put it in a suitcase.Everything you buy at the airport in Male will be taken away from you and given away only upon departure back. Alcohol is illegal here. But they pour it in the hotel bar).
Canoeing, surfing, snorkeling twice a day (masks and fins are provided for free, but we brought our own equipment), evening fishing on the donkey twice a week, all this is free. The sand is white and does not heat up because it is crushed corals. People walk barefoot on the island (relax), but no one forbids walking in shoes. Vacationers are mostly French, because the previous owner was French, there are also Italians, Germans, Russians rarely, mostly visitors for a day for $ 160 for a couple with Maafushi. One of the main attractions of the island is an elegant seagull named Juliet, they say she sailed by boat with the tsunami and stayed here alone and became the symbol of the hotel. Juliet is very attentive to men but aggressive to the fair sex). Lucky is also a star, this is a parrot, he says Peek-a-Boo, Ciao, Bye-bye and whistles in a human way, attracting attention to himself. He loves cashews and peanuts very much. When he sees them in the palm of your hand, he will slowly walk down the branches to you and carefully take them from the palm of his hand.He does not like it if they want to stroke him, he can pinch it well with his beak. There are also 4 herons on the island, small iguanas run around the bungalows, flying foxes and very loud thrushes and noisy running birds fly. You can also feed sharks and rays at the staff dining room by asking for fish trimmings in the kitchen, if there is one, they will not refuse. There is an outdoor area in the center of the restaurant. Among the stones there you can see 3 moray eels, crabs, a turtle swims.Dolphins swim 150 meters from the island. People come from other islands to look at them for money. You can't swim with them, they won't let you get close. While snorkeling, you can admire the rich color palette of various fish, swim with turtles, if you're lucky, see a sharp-winged stingray and manta ray, see moray eels and reef sharks. Once a week, a "white party" takes place in the bar. Everyone comes after dinner in white, drinks cocktails (for a fee) and dances (for free). A buffet is also served once a week on the beach. The buffet menu is varied and delicious, there is also ice cream. For coconut lovers. In the bar, a coconut costs $ 5. You can buy 2 for $ 1 from a Kokoman (a man who cuts coconuts) quietly, so that no one sees.He will clean it for you and open it, just give him back the drunk ones so as not to burn the peasant. At low tide, you can walk to two neighboring uninhabited islands, but it's better to take konoe and swim on them, you will get tired less.
On the eve of departure, in the evening at 21.00, a letter will be brought to your bungalow indicating the time of transfer to the airport.
I hope your stay in Rihiveli will be as pleasant as ours!!!
