We went from the organization on the weekend, walked along the reserve, and there are fewer animals than in the zoo, this is due to the fact that most of the animals live in Belarus and monitor their population. There is no need to go wild on weekends, there are a lot of tourist buses. If possible, take the children sleds, tubing, walk around the zoo for a long time, the child and I are not tired to the end. You definitely need to get to the museum, it is so detailed and vividly made that it will not leave you indifferent to wildlife. I forgot to say, they sell cool pancakes there, with any filling. But we had to stand in the residence of Santa Claus (when they took us by bus), and special buses from the restaurant go there. It takes about 10 minutes to drive through the village where scientists who study the Forest live . We arrived, we'll freeze a little there, but it doesn't matter, there are a lot of tents nearby and that a huge 3-meter fire made of logs gets into the eye. And I didn't tell you about Santa Claus because he is different for everyone, my child and we liked their fairy tale, everyone has their own. We went as a family, children 6 and 14 years old. Santa Claus himself was very liked, cheerful, real, laughed, took pictures with him. But this is a small part of the tour, unfortunately. The rest (with Santa Claus's assistant) is not interesting even for a six-year-old: wait here, make a wish here.

The forest itself is majestic and one day is not enough to explore it. We were there in November. the weather was not for walking, we examined the aviaries with animals, and left the journey through the forest itself for the next time. It is better to go there in the warmer months. take your own bicycles or rent them (4 hours of rental costs 15 rubles), a snack, clothes for a hike and a good mood) . There are several bike routes there, the longest is about 30 km.
The residence. It is located 12 km from the entrance to the Forest and there is a bus ride 3 times a day when recruiting a group of 10 people. Tickets cost 15 rubles for adults and 10 rubles for children.. Not a few, I think. .
Upon arrival, we were met by DM's assistant, Varvara, who is also a tour guide. She opened the gate and led us inside. I imagined that I would end up in a fairy tale. But in fact ...Well, yes, a beautiful tower, into which we were not even invited . Although they told me about the different outfits of my grandfather and the different pillows he has for each season. Then we shouted together, called frost. My grandfather came out in a white (autumn) fur coat. To say that she is some kind of wow, I will not say. The same goes for Varvara's outfit. DM talked to us, listened to the children's rhymes, the whole program is designed for 5 year olds at most!!!The whole estate consists of wooden sculptures, the appearance of which leaves much to be desired. Apparently they were cut out 20 years ago, when the residence was created and since then nothing has changed or improved there. Some kind of story is attached to each composition (let me remind you of the age up to 5 years)Sculptures based on fairy tales - Snow White and 7 dwarfs, for example. Although I don't understand at all, what do they have to do with our culture and Santa Claus? The frog princess. A clearing with 12 months (some of them were under restoration, apparently their affairs were very bad). What killed me was that the zodiac sign was carved on each of the months. What's the point of this at all???? Grandfather's sleigh with a moose harnessed to it. Some kind of battered wooden bridge on which you need to count the steps. Then there are sculptures of Chinese calendar signs. It is suggested to take a photo near each installation. But they were so scary that there was no special desire. A clearing with Santa Claus from different countries with description signs. The Snow Maiden's house.and finally, a house where you can write a letter to Frost, there is also a museum of snowmen and a souvenir sale. Well, the final is a gift to everyone in exchange for a ticket. As a gift, a milk cake in the form of a mushroom. In general, the disappointment is complete. Since December 3, additional characters have been coming to the forest: the snow maiden, the kikimora, etc., lights are lit and the estate comes to life, and if snow falls, it will be truly fabulous, but....then why do you take people there before the start of the season?? and for that kind of money???
But even during the New Year celebrations, everything is not so smooth there. There are 5-7 thousand tourists a day!!!! I can't even imagine that many people at the same time. They say a new group is being brought, but the previous one has not yet entered the territory of the residence, and this is in the cold, in the frost!!! And these are not just words, these are reviews from those who have been there in previous years. And count for a minute, how much do they earn from 6 thousand tourists?)) There will certainly be enough for chic suits, and for a can of paint for berendey, and maybe for a couple of modern electronic buns) So I do not advise you to visit this place.

There is a bus from the entrance to the forest to the estate. The entire residence is based on works of wooden architecture, i.e. very beautiful houses with carved elements have been built throughout the estate. There are about 200 wooden figures in the open air on the territory. The figures began to rot and they were covered with a protective compound. The groups are greeted by Santa Claus and the snow maiden. The guide leads groups and tells fabulous stories on various topics. There is a good cafe at the exit where you can have a snack, because after a walk you feel very hungry. The children liked it very much.

If someone has been to Veliky Ustyug, then you probably won't be very impressed by this residence of the Belarusian Santa Claus. My daughter and I decided that this was our Grandfather's younger brother and he was just a villager :) That's why everything is so modest and fast. There is not much to see, except for wooden sculptures with an excursion from the tales, the DM goes out for 5 minutes, greets, a couple of jokes and then a photo with those who wish. It's all.

The figures of fairy-tale characters made of wood are cracked, not painted, you can shoot corn in children, but the season has just begun. The queue to Santa Claus is crazy, groups organized by 60 people, based on this, there were no photos or contests as expected. The tree was stripped, the dance around it lasted no more than 1 minute.
