There are no questions about the work of the guy and their service, everything is on the level. Special thanks to Yuri, the man really knows his business and is well versed in the cylinder head. But a huge disadvantage is that you can't drive into the territory of this enterprise together. Pensioners who have nothing to prove and nothing to argue with are sitting uselessly with the guards.
I applied to this workshop to repair the cylinder head in December 2023.
It was necessary to prepare a used cylinder head for installation on a car:
1) check for leaks;
2) align the filling plane by grinding;
3) restore the tightness of the valves.
When communicating with the receptionist, there was no doubt about his professionalism. When announcing the list of works, the receptionist informed that it was imperative to replace the valve seals ("oil caps"), which must be provided during the repair. After a couple of days, the seals were provided in separate factory packages (intake and exhaust). In addition to the article, the seals differed visually in the color of the springs: light - inlet, dark - outlet. It is quite difficult to distinguish them visually in diameter, the difference is 0.05 mm.
The repair work was completed in 4 days. When issuing, an assembled cylinder head with a polished landing plane was received, on which 0.09 was written with a marker, with the words: "The cylinder head is ready for installation."
Before installing the cylinder head after grinding, it was decided to wash it with a complete disassembly of the head. At the same time, it was possible to assess the quality of the work performed.
As a result of the disassembly, it was found that:
1) The INLET seals of the valves are installed on the OUTLET;
2) The EXHAUST seals of the valves are installed at the INLET;
3) The valve springs are MIXED UP (2 exhaust springs were at the inlet, 6 intake springs were at the outlet). The springs differ in height (the exhaust springs are 2 mm larger than the intake springs). For visual distinction, all exhaust springs are painted with factory paint. How this could have been overlooked is unclear!
It was strange to see such a picture from the workshop, which declares on its website: "For more than 7 years we have been professionally engaged in the repair of cylinder head of any complexity, both passenger cars and trucks."
Somehow I can hardly believe in this "professionalism" after such an assembly!
Although the quality of the valve seat processing did not cause any doubts - 3 chamfers at different angles of the same width were clearly visible. A clear trace of contact with the seat was visible on the valve plates when lapping it.
It seemed that the grinding work was really done by a master, and the disassembly/assembly was done by some inexperienced student!
Thus, if you trust the repair of your cylinder head to this workshop, then only with the subsequent independent bulkhead!
