Great hotel and dream team staff! Comfortable mattresses on the beds, large spacious rooms in a colonial style, delicious food for dinner (we got both a buffet and a la carte breakfast/dinner, the portions are huge), I will especially appreciate the delicious pastries and the tastiest desserts.
Neither we nor the guests who stayed with us faced theft - on the contrary, when they left tips in the room on the bedside table and bed, they did not take money, but said "meme, you forgot the money", on the beach (since I was swimming alone) I also did not encounter, upon arrival everything is in place, the staff and Beachboys always looked after me from the shore when I was swimming in the ocean. The staff are wonderful, polite and smiling - they met and saw us off like family.
According to the hotel, it is aimed at a quiet relaxing holiday, it will be boring with the kids (there are no animations, slides and other things). Among the entertainment is a volleyball court. There is a jungle behind the hotel, monkeys, peacocks, chipmunks and monitor lizards came to us.
The beach is clean, quiet - you can not meet a single person, as from the brochures. There are waves, the ocean does not always let you swim. In the morning at dawn it is best to swim, you can swim by diving under the waves.

When the tour operator offered several accommodation options, the choice fell on this particular hotel. Location in a quiet and cozy village in the south of the island.The room is wonderful, second floor. There is everything you need, daily cleaning, refrigerator, safe, hairdryer, conditioner, shampoos, gels, in general, everything was for your convenience! Large well-maintained territory, two swimming pools, a restaurant, places to relax.Breakfast and dinner were included in the tour. There was a buffet. Everything is very colorful, spicy and delicious! All the staff are friendly and friendly people! It was very cozy, welcoming and warm!Special attention is paid to the ocean... A quiet, peaceful place. Ideal for a peaceful holiday, a place for complete relaxation. Those moments of happiness by the ocean were magical, just you, your thoughts and this element of the ocean.... In general, the hotel left only pleasant impressions. Everything was perfect, at least for my taste for sure!

We stayed at the Ranna 212 hotel in March 2025.

- airport
We were flying from Sochi, the flight was delayed by 4 hours. We arrived at the airport in Matala, changed the $ here, they only take new bills. We didn't take a SIM card, so we decided to take a break from the phone. But the queue for SIM cards was huge. Then we sat on the bus for another 1.5 hours and waited for 2 passengers, who safely took a taxi to their hotel without warning anyone.
It takes 3.5 hours to get to the hotel.
- The hotel
The small B hotel is located in the South of the island, far from civilization. It's not suitable for those who hang out. There is peace and quiet here.
We arrived at the hotel late at night, checked into a room on the 1st floor. Large, spacious room, snow-white towels, snow-white bed linen, comfortable mattress, kettle in the room, tea bags, coffee, sugar. Shower gel, shampoo in small bottles, soap, hair dryer were requested, brought, beach towels can be taken on the beach.
The restaurant is already closed, so we asked about the food. They brought us a box of food: an egg, a bun, which we were glad because we were hungry.
After reading the reviews about the quality of the rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors, we were asked to change the room to the 2nd floor, after long negotiations we changed the room, we liked the 2nd floor more, although the room is smaller, but it may have been renovated much later.
There are 9 bungalows in the hotel, there are not many people. We went to the beach in the morning, took sun beds.
The pool is clean, vacuumed every morning, and medications are added in the evening. The pool is not big, but there are never any crowds, you can swim safely.
- Food
We took a tour, breakfast and dinner, and we never regretted it. There are a couple of restaurants in the area, the choice is not great. A serving of shrimp, rice, salad 1000 rub, beer 300 rub, mango juice 300 rub. We went nearby to the city of Tangale on a tuk tuk, the cost of 3,000 rupees, for 1000 rubles, approximately.

Speaks and writes well in Russian, corresponded in WatsApp. We went to Tangale with him on the first day, took us to an alcohol market, a restaurant by the sea, a souvenir shop and back to the hotel. We agreed on 3,000 rupees, 1,000 rubles for rubles
The second day we went to the beach with the turtles, we didn't understand each other and had to pay 11,000 rupees because he was waiting for us on the beach.
On the third day we went to the beach of Tangale, a gorgeous beach, we agreed that he would take us, not wait, then he would come for us, it turned out to be 6,000 rupees. We stayed until the evening, had lunch at a local cafe on the beach, fish soup, a huge portion, very tasty, 1300 rupees.

The Indian Ocean has shown us all its charms. Raging, not calm. We swam on the beach at the hotel for only one day. We went to the beaches in Tangala. For those who like to swim in the sea, go to another part of the island.
- Alcohol
Local rum, white and red cost 5,700 rupees, volume 0.7, the price is the same everywhere throughout the island.

They have a lot of tour options for any color and style, the cost was $ 165 per person, + $ 55, we paid extra for the fact that our hotel is far from civilization and we had to be specially picked up. We didn't regret it for a minute. Very comfortable. Our neighbors went with local locals who hang out on the beach, they didn't like it. Our neighbors also traveled from the tour operator, they are also not happy, the price is higher, the bus is 25 people, everything is minute by minute, not a step to the left, not a step to the right.
Our vacation in Sri Lanka was wonderful. Sri Lanka has entered, this is the 19th country from our travel list. Will we come back again? Probably not. There are still many countries where you want to visit.
