Unfortunately, you will have no choice if you come to stay at the best hotel in the city.
I'll start with the pros:
+ The guys who open the doors, meet on arrival and close the doors to the antique elevator are the best staff at the hotel.
+ The most beautiful lobby living room in my life. Such a fleur old money, furniture and decor in the style of Ralph Lauren, fresh flowers, very stylish.
+ In the evenings, a pianist plays the piano. I couldn't refuse him tea after he performed Moscow Nights and a Million Scarlet Roses.
+ Great location, but there's nothing to do outside. At best, go to a restaurant.
Minuses:
- The hotel is old (it is more than 100 years old), the rooms are antique, but they have really aged, everything looks tired.
- I haven't seen worse breakfasts in a long time. Mango at the Crossroads is 3 times softer and 5 times tastier. Although they said it was their national fruit.
- In order for coffee to be brought to you, you need to ask 2-3 times. I checked for 2 consecutive breakfasts.
- Shampoo, shower gel and body lotion in large bottles, not in small disposable ones. They justify that they are a plastic-free hotel, but you and I know that we invented disposable aluminum bottles a long time ago. Therefore, they just save money.
- You don't even have to go to the pool. They don't clean up after the guests, and the waiters carry coke for 10 minutes.
- The manager (French) never came up to ask how we rest. And I had something to say to him.
- The prices at the bar are sky-high. Singapore sling costs 18 bucks, but it is ruined when natural pasta is stuffed instead of a tube. They struggle with plastic, but I suffer. Although we all know that it is possible to give metal tubes. By the way, it's unrealistic to drink water — they filter it and pour it into reusable glass bottles.
The Council. If you are traveling for the first time and the price of the hotel is below $ 250, then take it — it will be fine. If it's more, then it's not worth it.
