The Friday market in Alanya is a real celebration of colors, aromas and tastes, which is worth visiting for everyone who finds themselves in this sunny city. A lively atmosphere has been prevailing here since early morning: vendors are inviting guests, the air is filled with the smells of ripe fruits, fresh pastries and oriental spices, and the counters are bursting with an abundance of goods.
The assortment is amazing in its variety: from juicy seasonal fruits (figs, pomegranates, citrus fruits) and vegetables to local delicacies — olives, cheeses, honey and sweets like Turkish delight. Spices deserve special attention — they are sold here by weight, advising on how best to use them in dishes.
The prices are good, especially if you bargain (this is a local tradition!).
Communicating with locals adds charm: vendors often treat you to fruits and tell stories about their wares.. Many people speak Russian or English, so the language barrier is not a problem.
The Council
- Put on comfortable shoes and grab a shopping bag.
- Pay in cash (lira) — cards are rarely accepted.
- Take a look at the cozy cafes next to the market: they serve freshly squeezed juices and gözleme (Turkish flatbreads with stuffing).
The only negative is the rush in the middle of the day and the heat, but these are small things against the background of the overall impression.
In this place, you probably won't be able to find anything interesting and useful, except Chinese consumer goods for a lot of money. We rented a hotel in Konakli, near the hotel and in the hotel itself there were small shops with exactly the same goods, but the prices were 2 times lower, for some goods the price is the same. The question is, why go far and overpay?)
The standard set of the Turkish market with an emphasis on fruits and vegetables
As for clothes, it's better to go to the shops and shopping malls for this.
The prices are the same there, but the quality is better.
