I have signed a contract for 3 years with a monthly fee of $ 20. The yield on the contract was 6%, despite the fact that the insurance company took 8% of the contributions as an insurance fee. It's been 3 years and:
1. I have accumulated $722 in my account
2. I received a tax deduction of $93.6
3. total I earned 95,6 $ (722$ + 93,6$ - 720 $ ( my contributions for 3 years)). If you calculate the yield, you get 8.4% per annum. It turns out that my insurance brought me a yield of 8.4% in dollars at a time when banks offered deposits at a maximum of 4%.
4. I learned to save a small amount ($20) from my salary every month.
5. After the end of the contract, the insurance company transferred the entire amount of $ 722 to me, which was a pleasant bonus.
