A well-preserved ancient city with roads, houses, temples and various other buildings. Pottery, wall paintings. Views of the mountains of the Apennines, Mount Vesuvius. Having a guide is doubly interesting. Worn to a shine, the stones are very slippery underfoot. A huge number of tourists
We took a taxi from Naples for 70 euros, it's 20 km from the city, we got there in 30 minutes. A ticket for an adult costs 18 euros, there is a subscription for 3 days. They give you a free map at the entrance, but it's difficult to navigate it because it's in Italian. We ran through only a tenth of the city in 2 hours. There are no excursions in Russian, as it turned out, many artifacts are stored in the Museum of Naples. You can get back by train, the station is 500 m to the right if you stand with your back to the main entrance. The city itself is perfectly preserved, it seems that this is the scenery for a movie or got into the past.
A unique historical place, as well as the whole of Italy. The old city has been preserved under the ashes, squares, people's homes, literally everything.
We were here with friends, went to pick up the car keys (and a hint), but we met some strange Italian with long, pigtailed hair. He shoved us all in the mirror, but one of our friends did not lose his head and showed him why he needed to be vaccinated.

I highly recommend visiting Pompeii. It's just such an atmospheric place. To feel the touch of history is an indescribable feeling.
The ancient city is only 9km from Vesuvius. This neighborhood became fatal for the inhabitants of the city in 79 AD. According to modern data, they were first burned by a pyroclastic flow (incandescent gas and stones), and then covered with ashes. This city was described by the historian Pliny the Younger, an eyewitness to those events. Excavations took place in the 19th century. And the eyes of scientists saw the city in all the tragedy of what happened to it at the beginning of the 1st millennium. About 20 thousand tokens! But also well-preserved temples, an amphitheater, thermal baths, docks, stables, houses of citizens. A frozen world, a mournful place that revealed to posterity many details of the life of Ancient Rome.
Despite the fact that we all went through this at school and know all about it, it's worth going there in person. This is an old town buried under the ashes of an erupting volcano, very exciting
A unique historical architectural complex. This is an entire city buried under the ashes of Mount Vesuvius, which erupted in 79 AD and was discovered 1.5 millennia later. Restoration work has been underway in it for several hundred years, and 20% of its territory has not yet been excavated. The tour of this ancient city is very interesting. Many sculptures and rooms are perfectly preserved. The famous volcano is visible in the distance. And although it is still considered active, dwellings are being built on the slope at its foot at your own risk. In general, there are a lot of impressions!
