A very distinctive place is breathtaking. The powerful Polota River flows into the Western Dvina. The current, the huge volume of water rushing under you and all this was a thousand years ago when the first Viking prince Rogvolod arrived to reign in Polotsk. And the whole story is 100 meters away, on the opposite shore from St. Sophia Cathedral in ancient Polotsk.
The pedestrian bridge that goes from the private sector to the hill to the cathedral... Walked, reliable, does not swing... But the stairs are a bit slippery in winter.
It seems to me that without visiting this bridge it is impossible to form a complete impression of the history of Polotsk. It is he who plunges us into the times when nature prevailed. It offers a wonderful view of the surrounding area. Locals, by the way, believe that there are mermaids here
A good bridge. It's atmospheric. One of my favorite places in Polotsk. It is especially beautiful in the summer. It is a great pleasure to descend from the mountain by stairs
It's a great place. This is not a super project, but it feels feasible to take care of the convenience of the residents of the city, however, as almost everywhere in Belarus. It's also a great place to take a picture.
An unusual bridge. The only way from the Upper Castle to the Zapolotye. Physical training does not hurt when climbing stairs. The photos are wonderful. The path to the bridge is good, right from St. Sophia Cathedral.
We walked around it. The bridge is small, pedestrian, and allows you to approach St. Sophia Cathedral from the other side, not from the central parking lot. Convenient, allows you not to make a detour by car
So-so happiness. In the city, Bridges are more interesting and grandiose. And in general, Polotsk was not impressed, a well-publicized place and that's it. They take the victims of excursions, they pay out pennies, that's it.
It's not true, it's no longer suspended ((
The bridge was put on supports, it is clear that it was redone a little, most likely maintenance and repair for the suspension bridge is expensive and the city decided to do it cheaper and just propped up the bridge.
It was very wrong, because it could have been one of the coolest features of the city, if you'd been careful to watch it and walk around, but it wasn't hanging, just a narrow bridge.
Go down the stairs and walk across the bridge, there is nowhere to go, then just at home
From below there is a river and a view of the confluence of the rivers
After the repair, the bridge is in good condition, good lighting, but there is one thing, BUT, the descent from the bridge to N.Pokrovskaya Street was not completed (perhaps there was not enough material for the railing and add a ladder), so it is very dangerous to descend there, especially when mud and ice. Well, you can't climb with a stroller and a bicycle at all. Take care of yourself! I hope all this is fixable.
The bridge is not suspended, that's for sure. It's very narrow. The descent from the castle is swift. It's quite dark at night. Fanari are morally outdated and shine almost conditionally. A disabled person or a mother with a stroller is not an option at all. But if you are healthy, then the bridge allows you to shorten the distance to the center.
The bridge itself is interesting. The descent to it in the summer from one side is also interesting.
But the second side is just a return to some post-war years of devastation.
The bridge is not suspended in any place and it is not pleasant to kiss there, although it is defined by someone as a bridge for kissing. He is in the ass of the world, scary and creepy.

Suspended, it is difficult to call it...Maybe the bridge used to be suspended, and if there are supports, then it is not suspended... The coating is a wooden board on the channels.
