The beaches in Gagra are all good. But I'm not going to Abkhazia anymore. The transfer was organized disgustingly, the plane from Adler (departure at 11.55) was picked up from the hotel at 3.20. To the question "why so early", the answer is "what if you're late, don't want to get there yourself". Yes, we drove for an hour through Gagram and Tsandripsh until we assembled a fifty-seat bus, and b6,10, we were at the airport. "THANK YOU" to the GARUDA company for ruining all the vacation experiences.

I used to relax on the beaches of Adler. But after two seasons in a row, the whole family had a bowel disease! Okay, I'm a man, I sat down on salted water and refused food, a day later - a cucumber. And the children!!! So, two years ago we just arrived, we came to the plzh. The water is muddy, the wife, the children are on the sand, but he dived, surfaced,,, and in front of his face a piece of brown shit!!! We went straight to the shore, told my wife, and went on to Abkhazia. We arrived in Gagra, decided on housing (apartment) and went to the beach. The water is clear with a turquoise tint, like in a pool, but it's not a pool, it's the sea!!!
Also nature, waterfalls in the Tkvorchelsky district are super! Since that time, I have been traveling to Abzasia. Now about the cons:
1 the service is weak.
2 the products are expensive, but at the beginning of August it was normal.
3 in restaurants, the quality of food is low. Shish kebab is not a shish kebab. Non-pickled pieces of fried meat without taste.
3 after people left, at the end of August, the cost of food soared not really 350₽ kg tomatoes!
4 the cost of renting a house has skyrocketed very noticeably.
Of course, it is clear that it is necessary to "cut the loot" while there is an opportunity, because winter is ahead, but! But where is the service, where is the quality?
And more. With the increase in the flow of tourists, the locals began to get a little cold.
In general, 4 stars for the sea and nature.

It is in the center of Gagra that the beach is very pleasing. You need to put at least four stars for the center (Grand Hotel Abkhazia, Park Hotel AMZA), they put things in order there or it has always been there. But on the outskirts, literally +/- 500 meters from the center, the beach turned out to be often dangerous due to the presence of rusty remains of Soviet buildings under water. Just like in the game "Prince of Persia". You can stumble upon the sharp peaks of such remains with a fatal outcome even just swimming in shallow water, unknowingly of the local bottom, literally three meters from the shore and deeper. I myself almost accidentally stumbled one day when I walked away from the beach of my hotel to the side.

Right over the heads of tourists, boats with loud and annoying advertisements for sea travel dock at the beach every five minutes. Naturally, they pollute the water. They got into the fuel oil, then cleaned it for a long time. And it is impossible to relax and unwind. No buoys (only some hotels have them), no lifeguards. Cheap umbrellas are one plus. But swimming is out of the question.

Gagra beach is different. There is sand, there are pebbles, both small and large. The breakwaters, according to the locals, were destroyed intentionally a long time ago. Because of this, many embankments, old concrete, Soviet ones, were destroyed by storms. Therefore, it is difficult to go to the beach in places. Look for more comfortable paths. There are no toilets, showers, or cabins on the beaches. There are a lot of cafes))) the toilet is free for visitors, non-visitors 20 rubles)).

When leaving the beach, there are changing cabins, there is a place where you can wash your feet of small stones or coarse sand, I do not know how to call it correctly) Every year there are more sellers and touts, personally it bothers me a little, but people need to earn money, there's no getting away from it. I don't like the fact that the guys on jet skis swim right along the shore, inviting them to go for a ride. For a while, then there is the smell of fuel and exhaust. It's not critical, but on the beach you want to enjoy the smell of the sea and clean air.
