The road to this lake leads to the left from the observation deck of the main tourist lake Ritsa. If you are driving, then drive to the left of the observation deck, then climb a little higher past the Apsny cafe and a little higher to a small parking lot for 8-10 cars. From there, a path leads through the forest with winding tree roots, ascents and descents, ascents and descents again (the height of the lake above sea level is 1250 meters). Definitely need comfortable closed shoes. Converses, crocs, and even more so slates / sneakers will not be at all comme il faut on such a walk. Telescopic walking sticks are good helpers in this matter. There are usually wooden sticks at the bottom, which can be used and then returned back for the next tourists.
Walk from the upper parking lot along the trail through the forest for 1h-1h15 minutes at a calm pace (plus 25-30 minutes if you stomp on foot from the observation deck). You will not be able to accelerate much along a forest path with a climb of about 300 meters. The temperature outside Lake Superior was 8-10 degrees lower than in the resort area (10/29/24). So take a warm top with you. We arrived in shorts and T-shirts from +18 to +8, changed into pants and sweatshirts, and a warm vest with gloves came in handy on the lake itself.
It is better to walk in the morning. Especially if you go for beautiful photos. By itself, the small lake is not as picturesque as the big brother below. In addition, there is little sunlight and photos in the afternoon will be against the light, which is not so beautiful. We arrived 2.5 hours before sunset and the sun's rays licked only the tops of the trees. Not very good for photos.
Near the lake, you can have a picnic with your groceries and then take the garbage back on yourself. The lake is formed by melting snow from the tops of the slopes and there is no infrastructure for tourists there. There is a toilet. And a lot of fallen trees for a rest stop. And there's a stunningly beautiful silence up there.
Oh, this is a place that is definitely worth a visit. There is an abundance of indescribable beauty of mountains and lakes. There are many restaurants nearby, where it is a little expensive, but they will feed you tasty. You should also definitely take a ride on the lake on a catamaran. Only from the lake can you see in all its glory the mountains around the perimeter of the lake.
A beautiful secluded place. A scenic trail leads from Lake Ritsa through the forest.
It's a pity you can't swim, but you can go boating or enjoy the scenery while sitting on a boulder.
A wonderful place! I recommend you to visit. The way up is a clear path, it is possible with children. It's cool, but the view is amazing. It is forbidden to swim, but many swim
An unrealistically beautiful lake! The purest blue water! The way to the lake is not easy, to put it mildly. The main thing is to overcome the first 500 meters (steep climb) and not turn back. Then the road becomes easier. But definitely, these crazy views are worth it!!
The most beautiful place. The water in the lake is a pleasant blue color. You can't swim there, but the caretaker kindly provides a bucket from which you can rinse yourself with water from the lake. You can also go boating for money.
Anyway, guys, listen up. This year we went to the Ritsa again, and my wife said that this time we should definitely visit Lake Malaya Ritsa, like very good reviews, everyone puts 5 stars and so on. Well, I signed up for this hike, I think, since everyone writes, then we drove something, only about 3 km along the trails in the mountains, but ... In which mountains, there are mostly ascents, my youngest 5-year-old daughter is on my shoulders. After 300 meters of the route, I just spit out my lungs (smoking). Instead of the promised 40 minutes, the roads stomped for an hour and a half, and this is still quite a good indicator. They came and what we see is an ordinary lake of small size. I was upset with my wife too, I thought she would see wow, but in fact nothing like that. In general, the water there is drinkable, we drank everything and everything is fine with our stomachs. We took photos with frogs)), and other delights that were there. I do not recommend stomping people like me with overweight this route, no matter what anyone says, it's not worth it. I would really like to be allowed to swim in the future, after such a road I would love to swim. Although after walking more than half the way there is a small lake or a puddle, but in the mountains it is very clean, straight transparent water, and there are definitely people swimming there, we did not, but you can see the entrance into the water. Bottom line, if you want to test yourself for strength, then go ahead, if you are lazy, then you should not take risks.)))

The lake is beautiful 🤩
For me , it 's a must - visit 💯
It is better to go out to the lake in the morning if it is cooler in summer. It takes an hour to walk to the lake at a calm pace, along a mountain and forest trail, and back about 45 minutes (time for a healthy adult).
The video shows a panorama of the place 🔥
There was no wow effect) but it was beautiful) there was no wow probably because we came late) if you go in the morning it would be cooler) if you lead a mobile lifestyle, then there will be no special problems for you (in the ascent)
It's a great place. One of the most beautiful places in Abkhazia. In Malaya Ritsa, the water is very warm for a lake, at least for sure. Although it is forbidden to swim there
The most beautiful, inaccessible place! He will welcome all travelers with warmth and soul. You feel like you're living here!

A gorgeous place. If you come to Lake Ritsa, you need to go to Lake Malaya Ritsa. The color of the water is amazing and varies depending on the weather.
