The square is like a square, nothing special. They write that this is the largest square in Belarus. The memorial complex, of course, is impressive. A large-scale legacy of the Soviet past. The height is 56 meters. The Eternal Flame is burning below. Three staircases lead from it to the Dvina embankment. They were able to build in those years.
The square is very beautiful. It is always clean and tidy here, it is pleasant to walk and relax. It is clear that she is being taken care of and maintained in good condition. I recommend you to visit!

We walked around Vitebsk in the evening. Let's go to the Eternal Flame. We were walking through an underground passage. There were floor-to-ceiling display cases in the underpass, which contained photographs of the war years. The pictures showed hanged people, houses burned to the ground, crying children and the elderly... Photos that are impossible to pass by, unless, of course, the soul is still alive. A group of guys stood nearby - girls and boys from 14 to 17 years old with scooters and looked at the photos. They were silent... How important it is that they know what their ancestors and the country as a whole went through. I bow low to Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko for not allowing the heroism of the dead to be forgotten. Then we went to the eternal flame. How well chosen the place is, how symbolic it is! Three stellae rising into the sky on the riverbank. We didn't go anywhere else that evening, the impressions of what we saw were so strong.
