Not bad architecture, I expected more from this place) it's worth visiting just for a check along the route Novoafonsky Waterfall-Station-Historical gorge (Simon Canonite trail). I highly recommend this gorge. There is a stunning temple in the mountain and it is interesting to hear about the life of this apostle.

I definitely recommend the Platform to visit.
It is located near the Novo-Athos cave. If you drive from the cave, the navigator will lead you to the Platform via Ladaria Street, but this road is suitable for you if you are driving in Kamaz or the Urals) in another case, the landmark in the navigator is for the Psyrtskhinskaya HPP. There is parking in front of the hydroelectric power plant, I'm not sure if it's free in high season, but we put it in January for free.
We parked, went out in a friendly company and headed for a series of photos at the waterfall of the Psyrtskhinskaya HPP, there are a lot of people, the pictures are wonderful. On the bridges in front of the waterfall, you can cool off with drip irrigation and coolness. Photos on the dam itself are required. There are catamarans, you can ride on a small lake (we did not take it).
Next, on the right, it rises to the right of the waterfall along the path to the Platform, again a series of photos, very beautiful. And yes, an important point, do not climb into the railway tunnel on the sides of the Platform, the railway track is really working, a train passed with us, Take care of yourself.
After viewing the Platform, we go all the way, cross the rails and get on the mountain path to the grotto of Simon Kananita. Entrance is paid, about 300 rubles for an adult ticket, no money was taken from the children. The trail is very picturesque despite January.
The grotto is cool, in a rock, climbing the steps from the path, which is a bit difficult for children, but three-year-old and I mastered it. There is a monk and a nun in the grotto (maybe we were lucky) There is not much space, there is a little dripping from the ceiling. On the way back, we were accompanied by two cheerful dogs who fearlessly crossed the mountain river in both directions and then took mud baths.
The time to explore the dam, platform and walk along the trail takes about two hours, on the way to the parking lot there are many points selling tangerines, oranges and other local delicacies. The price for 1 kg of tangerine is 40 rubles (we took it with us).

If you come to New Athos, then this place SHOULD be visited. Yes, the site is small (I mean both the railway platform and the hydroelectric power station). It is better to prepare informatively and read what it is and what these places are for, and then you will be able to assess the scale. Painted ceilings remain in the station itself and traces of architecture are visible. And all this cannot be compared with newfangled architectural solutions.

The benches are cast iron, the floor is colorful, the ceiling is stuccoed and part of the room hangs as if above the river. And you need to cross the bridge to the station. The place is interesting, it's an abandoned station. The trains are still passing. But you have to be very careful, because there is not a single warning sign that a train is coming. There are two waterfalls. You can take a dip in the river. Entrance to the waterfall and gorge is paid, 200 rubles. It is better to drive when it is cool or it is raining. Because it was very, very hot and it was very difficult to climb into the gorge.
