It is quite a picturesque place, the platform is located between two tunnels. This is old Gagra, Gagrin Park and the embankment are nearby, this is a great place to start a walk. In the autumn of 2023, the repair of the platform began, as of May 2024, repairs are still underway, but the final is already visible. The Lastochka electric train is already making a stop on this platform. I wonder if the facades of the tunnels will be repaired? they still show traces of the old name written in Georgian and Russian, the Georgian one has been beaten off and smeared. The area next to the platform is also waiting in the wings (for repairs), a lot of abandoned buildings, a 3-storey department store, ventilation towers, an area with a fountain. Everything is available to visit, we visited and not without pleasure, there is something special about it, perhaps the fact is that I was here as a child back in Soviet times. It takes 5-10 minutes to walk to the sea.
The platform was restored normally, but it is not a museum exhibit, but a functional structure. Why does the long-awaited Gagra Adler train leave once a day and at an unknown time? People are forced to communicate with inadequate drivers every day and stand in queues at the checkpoint. Or if only one flight is possible, you need to set it for 6-7 o'clock in the morning, when everyone goes to work or on business
It can be seen that they have brought it into a modern look - new benches, pots for plants, everything is painted and it seems to be fresh. But we didn't leave here, we just went on an excursion, it was clean!
One of the most beautiful places in Gagra. I advise everyone to visit and definitely go to the ventilation chamber. There are wonderful views from there, then I advise you to go down from it to the left and cross the river over the bridge. And then go to the gorge, it is very beautiful and there is something to see!
The station is located between two tunnels in a picturesque location) An abandoned department store adds to the mystery. We didn't find any ticket offices (we didn't look for them), we bought them in Swallow without any problems)
There's garbage everywhere. I was passing by car. I went out to look. I imagine the shock of visitors on the train when they go to the station and around the trash. But it was beautiful once. You can imagine that.
It turned out to be cool photos. Natural beauty. Paths and passageways are being restored now. But mostly a view of an abandoned place all around. The Swallow walks 1 time a day.
To be honest, there is nothing to see at this station, it is dirty, and the shopping center next to it is in the same condition. But in general, the location is worthy of attention, we lived there in a new hotel with a view of the station and the mountains, the view from the hotel is cool, near the river, shops, canteens and cafes. There is a Psyrtskha station, but it's in a new iPhone, it's beautiful there.
The station is being landscaped and cleared.
Beautiful view of the gorge.
We visited this place just walking around Gagra, it's probably not worth going here just for the sake of this remarkable thing, the station looks more atmospheric in N.Athos.
Surprisingly, the station is working! And in an extraordinarily beautiful place. The station is a bridge from the tunnel of one mountain to the tunnel of another. And this bridge was built under the tsar. His brother. With monograms and with its own history. Yes, it's a bit running. But this gives it even more charm! And swallows made their nests under the bridge....
There is an Abaat stop on the bridge. The Swallow high-speed train stops there. It is very convenient to get to Sochi from Staraya Gagra
I'll give you five stars, because I'm a fan of dilapidated old places that hold a piece of history. It's beautiful, the surroundings, incredible photos are obtained. But as a functioning platform, this is, of course, a sadness 🥲
A beautiful place, but it all depends on, the seasons were summer in July and winter for the new year, it is perceived completely differently, but both options are beautiful in their own way, I definitely recommend
In Soviet times, trains stopped here on the bridge after leaving the tunnel. Wide staircases led to Gagarin Square to the bus stops, from here the path to the park, to the fortress began. As a child, we often went to my aunt, she lived in the Joekvar gorge. The train jumps out of one tunnel and rushes rapidly to another, and I sit at the window and during these few seconds I try to see her house. And so it has always been, and even still is...
The attraction of Old Gagra is the abandoned Abaat platform. There are no trains stopping here now. You can get here from the stairs and paths behind Nartaa Square (if you look at the map, just west of the square).
On both sides of the station, at a distance of about 200 meters from each other, there are entrances to tunnels – the station is located right in the Joekvar gorge. The entrances to the tunnels are very beautiful, you can see how the inscription "Gagra" in Georgian was smeared on them.
Abaata is a passenger platform - viaduct of the Abkhazian railway in the city of Gagra Abkhazich. The passenger platform is located on the electrified Psou - Sukhum section of the Abkhazian Railway on the northwestern outskirts of the city of Gagra, and is an original engineering structure - a viaduct erected in the Joekvar gorge between two tunnels. A beautiful platform. Only in an abandoned state.
It has undergone restoration. Now there are no old types, but nevertheless the restoration is quite decent, in the spirit of Stalinist Abkhazia itself.
Well, what can I say, an overgrown, sometimes destroyed landmark, as in the whole of Abkhazia. If this was all looked after, yes, there would be something to see. Otherwise, there is dirt and spontaneous toilets everywhere. But the sea is super.

I was at this station in September 24. It is now restored and very beautiful. People go there to take pictures.
A very beautiful place. Previously, the railway was closed due to the fact that it was old, but now trains have started to travel there again. I lived in a hotel near this railway and every morning, day and evening trains went it's so atmospheric!
It's a beautiful place, and it's worth coming to see Gagra for the sake of such people. Just passing by, to think, what's there? And there's a beautiful main staircase. Even relatively well maintained, considering the general condition of the station. A waiting shed. Everything is built with such taste and love that the heart bleeds, in what condition it is now.
Be careful, trains do not stop at this station, but they still run through it.
From the platform, the Abaats drove off on a Swallow to Adler airport. The platform is allowed even in this form, it is beautiful, Abkhazia is a fairy tale, my Love from the first step on this earth.
We were in Gagra once again in the winter of 2022-2023. We walked through an abandoned sanatorium of the USSR times. We saw the old Oldenburg castle. We had a great time)
A very picturesque railway bridge, the Stalinist Empire, but the murdered Empire, no one has restored it for a long time, and in general the places are very beautiful.
It's a cool place. I advise everyone to visit. It feels like everything stopped after certain events. Everything is destroyed and not rebuilt. And what convinced me more is that this railway is still working, a real steam locomotive runs along it, as from the old days when there was no electricity.
An interesting place. A very beautiful approach to the station (platform). Large wide steps... We found a path to the circular ventilation building. You need to be extremely careful everywhere. Trains occasionally pass through, glass fragments everywhere, and it's slippery in some places after the rain. I recommend you to visit)
