Pico Turquino Peak is the highest point in Cuba (1972 m[2]). The mountain is located in the southeastern part of the island, belongs to the mountains Sierra Maestra in the Cuban province Santiago de Cuba. In the 50s, Fidel Castro and his associates in the July 26 Movement used this zone as a base for the Cuban Revolution.
