A small hotel in the center of Baku, 5 minutes from the Old Town. They were very well received, explained everything about the hotel and its surroundings. We communicated perfectly in Russian. The room has shampoo, slippers, hair dryer, shower gel, TV, 2 new bottles of water are put in every day. The windows faced the avenue, but it was quiet with the windows closed. Unfortunately, the audibility from the doors of neighboring rooms. The bed is comfortable, the breakfast is sufficient. I definitely recommend it, the staff is friendly, I bow to you!
I stayed at this hotel as early as 2018. Then everything was great: the location, the service, and, most importantly, the price. Both the location and the service have not changed since then. But I can't say anything about the price.
The biggest plus is the location - everything is nearby. The old town, the embankment, grocery stores, the party center of the city. Breakfast is rather meager. Towels were washed 1000 times probably - very old. The biggest disadvantage is audibility. We lived on the ground floor, everything that happened in the hallway and at the reception was perfectly audible. The guys at the reception are very friendly.
The biggest plus of this hotel is its location. It is a 5-minute walk from the Old Town, from the walking part of Nizami Street, within walking distance of the embankment. The hotel itself is quite tired, old repairs, furniture, plumbing. We arrived - the watering can did not work in the shower, there was very little pressure, the master came only a day later, but changed everything, everything worked. The Internet is terrible, the wi-fi signal periodically disappeared completely, the TV broadcast something only from the Internet, if there was a normal signal, no channels were shown. Breakfast is the same every day, but everything is quite edible, the women in the kitchen are very friendly. The Swede always had cheeses, sausages of several types, vegetables, herbs, sausages, boiled eggs, breakfast cereals, yoghurts, fruits, jam. Girls in the kitchen can order porridge, scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs.
In general, if you are not a very fastidious traveler, and the purpose of your trip is to walk around Baku, I can recommend the hotel, as it is extremely conveniently located.
We stayed in a two-storey room with a family of 4 people. The room looks like in the photo.
Pros: The location is convenient, close to the old town, next to the shopping street, close to the center.
Cons: the declared 4 * does not pull from the word at all, the floors were dirty from the moment of arrival, towels were not immediately put, there was no toilet paper, Wi-Fi barely catches. Tomorrow is very modest and if you hadn't read that you could ask for an omelet/to cook scrambled eggs, they would never have found out themselves, no one offers anything. Instant coffee from a jar. From the bath there is always a terrible smell of sewage. The ventilation in the bathroom is bad, hence the mold. The windows of our room overlooked a busy highway, quite noisy if you sleep with the window open.
In general, an ordinary hotel. Very conveniently located. The staff is polite, the rooms are a little tired. The breakfasts are decent. Water in coolers. Buffet.It is not necessary to settle on the ground floor. (there are windows to the corridor). In general, I am satisfied. Baku is a wonderful city.
The scammers fell for their hyped "great" reviews. We booked this hotel on Booking, received an official confirmation on the website and even via WhatsApp. Additionally, we agreed on a transfer from the airport upon arrival. When we arrived at the airport, no one met us, the phones were not answered, we waited 40 minutes (at 3 a.m.), called a taxi and left for the hotel, the question about the transfer at the reception was answered "we had to wait." Further cooler, we were informed that they did not see the reservation and there were no rooms available, but they "kindly" could send us to spend the night at another hotel of their group of companies (there are also many reviews of other people about analogous situations), we had no choice and no time to look for a hotel at night. The scheme is as follows: this hotel has created several cards on the Booking (Passage boutique hotel / Passaje old, etc.), then they do overbooking, book non-existent rooms for people (several times one room for one period) and send them to another hotel (we got a Deluxe hotel), and there it is worse than in a hostel, for such The hotel still has to pay extra. With all this, we were promised that it was only for the night and the next day at 12:00 there would be a free room at the Passage Hotel. We arrived by this time from the previous bedbug and the shift receptionist says "there are no rooms, I do not know what the previous one promised you, we can offer another hotel." There is no point in commenting further, they had a conflict, did not achieve any result, found themselves another normal hotel and left. The Passage hotel itself is all shabby (judging even by the lobby), it's not that cosmetic repairs are needed there, reconstruction and capital repairs are needed. This hotel and its management are a complete disgrace to the unique city of Baku and the responsive Azerbaijani people! Waste of time, divorce for money (more than $60 per day), disgusting lying attitude. Now we are fixing all violations together with Booking.
The hotel was booked from April 28 to May 2, we arrived early on the morning of the 29th, they said our room was not ready, they put us in another one, the next day there were no vacancies either, we were settled in the room we booked only for the 3rd day, there is no sound insulation, it feels like all the neighbors live with us in the room, the location is good, There is a boulevard nearby where everyone walks
Of the advantages:
- comfortable bed;
- excellent location (10 minutes walking distance to the Old Town);
- there is a spa with sauna, jacuzzi, hammam without steam generator;
- rooms are clean, cleaning every day;
- spacious balconies.
Of the minuses:
- breakfasts are scarce;
- there is not enough lighting in the room;
- the rooms are tired;
- when checking in, there were no glasses, cups and a teapot in the room.
The staff is friendly and tries, but not everything works out :-))
Be extremely careful when coming to this hotel. We were deceived here in full! And then they also did not return the caviar they gave to the refrigerator for storage.
Upon arrival, we paid for accommodation for 4 nights, paid in advance. On the second day, hot water disappeared at the hotel, they said at the reception - we are fixing it. We went for a walk and came back in the evening. There was still no hot water. We were assured that the problem is being solved and everything will be fine in the morning. We stayed. In the morning there was no water again and we decided to move to another hotel. After informing the hotel staff that we were moving out, they asked us to refund the payment for the 4th night (we spent 2 nights, 3 and 4 did not). We received a categorical refusal. Moreover, we were accused of the fact that we also owe money, because when checking in, a hotel employee offered us to upgrade the room without extra charge and, like, our room is very expensive and the money that we have already contributed is not enough to cover our stay in the room after the "upgrade" for 2 nights.
We paid !650! monat for 4 nights. They paid as for a standard room, but we were "upgraded". A suite in this hotel costs 152 monats/night! That is, after paying 650 monats for 4 nights, we overpaid at least 42 monats without any "upgrade"! I do not argue, it's their own fault, they did not check! BUT I haven't seen such outright rudeness and impudence anywhere for a long time. Spitting on the payment for the room, we asked to return to us the caviar that we had asked to put in the refrigerator in the kitchen the day before, since the refrigerator in the room did not cool enough in our opinion. To which the department staff said that there was no caviar and we didn't give them anything!
My review is aimed at warning people not to trust the staff of this hotel and to check everything carefully.
In addition, I will say that the service and condition of the hotel does not pull either 4 or 3 stars. The suite had one set of towels (the towels were washed and old enough), one bathrobe and slippers. Before the second set was brought to us, we had to call and ask several times.
After cleaning the room, there was again one set of towels.
On the balcony there is a pot full of cigarette steers from previous guests. They asked to clean, but even after cleaning the room, the bulls were in place))
There is breakfast in the hotel, but I can't call it breakfast. Two types of sausage, cheese, toaster bread, cucumbers, tomatoes. Tea bags, INSTANT coffee! Sparse and sooooo budget-friendly. True, the ladies in the kitchen agreed to fry us scrambled eggs, for which I thank them.
A scanty room, very stuffy in the room. It's like being in a cage. To the restaurant on foot upstairs. No tomorrow. A very weak three. The only thing I liked was the guys at the reception. Very pleasant and customer-oriented
Excellent location of the hotel. The rooms are clean, white linen, air conditioners work normally.
It's a little noisy to sleep with the windows open if they face the roadway.
In general, everything was fine)
Everything is fine. Booked a hotel online, a double room cost ~20k for 6 days. The price included breakfast (buffet). The hotel is located in the city center, a 15-minute walk from the embankment. Daily cleaning, pleasant polite staff.
Good evening! We had a rest in hotels at the end of March. It's clean, the rooms are cleaned every day. If problems arise, they are solved immediately. Breakfast buffet.
I do not recommend a hotel. Poor service. The price for such a place is greatly inflated. But a convenient location, close to all the attractions. The breakfasts are of poor quality.
Unfortunately, the impression is spoiled.
Upon arrival, we were sent to another hotel, further and worse, since there were no rooms in this hotel. In the second hotel, we also had to change the room, because the one we were given was smoky and very cramped, not corresponding to the cost we paid.
When we finally returned to the Passage, we were checked in, but the room stank constantly.
If it weren't for the adventures, we could say that the hotel is not bad, its main advantage is the location
We stayed with my husband for a week at the Passage Boutique Hotel in November 2022.
Background: we bought a tour, planned to stay at la casa nizami for 20 thousand rubles for a week. But a couple of weeks before departure, the tour operator called and said that they no longer work with la casa nizami, and our tour is possible only if we pay 5 thousand extra and stay at the Passage Boutique Hotel. With fear, seeing the polarity (then super, then horror) of the reviews, we took a chance and decided to go.
So: impressions are mixed. Probably, the overall impression is rather neutral. However, we will not stop at the passage for the second time. I'll tell you why now.
Positive:
- Location. You are in the center of Baku: there are pedestrian streets, the old town, and the embankment within walking distance. To the metro station "Sahil" or "Nizami" 10-15 minutes on foot.
- Quite adequate prices. If I remember correctly, a day for two cost us about 80-90 manats.
- Pleasant and functional design of the standard rooms. Although these rooms are cheaper than the "Antique", but, in my humble opinion, it is impossible to live in the "antique" (read more in the cons)
- Almost daily room cleaning. But the time is different every time (then at noon, then at 18:00). Therefore, sometimes the cleaner knocked at all at the wrong moment.
- Russian-speaking and/or English-speaking staff. This is quite important, because even in the service sector in Baku there are young boys and girls who know only Azerbaijani. I had to communicate with such people outside the hotel in sign language and Google translator. Therefore, it is nice that these pantomimes could have been avoided at the hotel.
- Fresh bottles of water in the rooms every day, they give out new jars of shampoos on request.
Minuses:
- LACK OF SOUND INSULATION. I can hear everything at all (!!!) . How someone yells at the reception at night (new voices yelled every night), how in the next room the husband loudly reprimands his wife (at any time of the day or night). 3D effect: As if these conflicts are happening right in your room. Well, bonus: Everyone can hear you, too, just wonderful.
- Initially, we planned to live in the antique room, but there are a lot of "jokes" when, for the sake of design, we clearly decided to score on the function. So, the position of the attachment of the shower watering can leads to the fact that water pours into the wall somewhere, but not on a person in any way. We couldn't stand it and on the second day we moved to the "standard".
- Free, but unstable WiFi. Then 10 MB/sec, then a dying swan. For scheduled online work calls, I had to go out without a camera, otherwise everything would crash.
- The refrigerator was leaking and dying in Standard, we asked to solve the problem, but no one solved it.
Neutral facts:
- I think there's a music school nearby. You can often hear someone practicing (quite successfully) on the piano. Music is heard during the day, from early morning and late evening there is nothing. We liked it, but not everyone will be happy with such sounds. (+ see the point about the lack of sound insulation)
- A modest and monotonous, but hearty breakfast. Sliced cheese and ham, olives, vegetables and fruits, cereals with milk, yoghurts and bread. Juices, instant coffee and tea. You can think of something, but the diet does not change from day to day. BY the WAY: Absolutely by chance on the third day we found out that you can still order an omelet in the kitchen. With the omelet, all these cuts have gained additional meaning, and life has become a little better. But on the last day, this omelet-based menu was already a little sick.
We paid 25,000rubles in a week, and I think this hotel does not reach such a budget. And even more so, it's not 4 stars; with such sound insulation, it's impossible to sleep there without earplugs.
This hotel is one big disappointment. The lack of hot water, it's not even warm, but just cold. The staff who first says that they will sort it out, and then reports that there will be no water. The breakfasts are very mediocre, the rooms themselves are "tired". Of the advantages, only the location, but it's definitely not worth it.
Not bad rooms, even in the standard, breakfast with ordered porridge and scrambled eggs, lots of greens and fruits. Location👍 10’ walk to the old town and metro
Very mean people. Booked and for a good reason could not fly out of the country. These people did not even return part of the money, although they warned before entering. Greed will ruin you
A normal hotel in a great location in Baku, although they searched for a long time (the taxi driver was looking for) the hotel itself. But then it turned out that the location is convenient, and the area is not bad. The hotel itself is chic, lots of glitter and pomp. But the most important thing is that everything works, it's cozy, it's delicious. We were satisfied.
Almost everything is at the highest level. Of the wishes, you can only expand the breakfast menu and add punctuality to the reception staff. But these are small things.
Great hotel, I really liked everything. The location is convenient, much is within walking distance. The administrators are responsive, friendly. Food, breakfast, super
