A beautiful place in the heart of the Fatih district, always crowded and noisy, a must-visit, is located between two mosques - Sultanahmet (Naked Mosque) and Ayasofiya (Former Orthodox Cathedral of St.Sofia). There is a huge fountain in the center, there are many benches to sit down, but there is not always a place, some are located right on the lawns. Beautiful lighting at night. There is a T1 tram stop nearby, many cafes and restaurants, a Basilica Cistern, a hammam, ice cream vendors, etc.shops with food and souvenirs. Gulhane Park is within walking distance. In one of the cafes, you can admire the dancing of dervishes daily (you can also watch it from the street). The photos here are extraordinary at any time of the day. Passage to both mosques is free, everyone can look in, subject to the dress code (those with inappropriate clothes are given shawls and skirts, you must take off your shoes), very often there are huge queues, but they move quickly.
We lived next to the park, so every morning and evening we always strolled through this wonderful place, passing to the tram stop number 1, a very convenient route. On the first day, we took a sightseeing tour, which included just all the sights gathered around the park. Very interesting, beautiful historical gems gathered in one place: the hippodrome, the palace of Ibrahim Pasha, the Blue Mosque, the palace of Top Cape. Additionally, apart from the tour, we ourselves went to Hagia Sophia, the basilica, and the archaeological museum here. In Hagia Sophia, you need to take a guide, you can't see a lot there because you don't know where to look, the guide found us near the mosque himself. I recommend going to museums in the morning, there are long queues everywhere for lunch. There are many cafes around, they sell corn, chestnuts, bagels for snacks. There is a fountain in the center of the square, and a mosaic in a circle around it. You can have a budget meal in an analogue of our potato chips, very large portions. Inexpensive and satisfying - doners. Two stops up the street- Grand Bazaar. If you like to walk, you can walk. One stop down is Gulhane Park. In general, there is beauty all around and it is very intense! All the most important historical buildings are here.
