Cons there are no individual excursions, no audio guide. There are no booklets. The pros are clean, everything is cleaned up. Parking space. I still recommend visiting, especially with children, so that they remember how it was.
Like the whole of Belarus, this place struck me. They were able to make monuments in the Soviet Union. And special thanks to the Belarusians for saving it. I got here as a "hare" on an excursion. The interactivity is amazing. I was crying.
The only drawback is that the cafe pays only in cash. But at least at the time of my visit.
During the autumn holidays, we went to Belarus with a child, one of the places we visited was Khatyn, I definitely recommend taking an excursion to learn more about what the fascists were doing in our Slavic land. Let our children know the history well and honor the memory of the people who died in this terrible war.
The Khatyn Memorial Complex is mandatory for all adults and children to remember and honor the memory! It is difficult to realize in our time all the fear and horror of the civilians of Khatyn and other villages who are buried here. The feelings that such memorials evoke cannot be confused with anything, it is horror, fear, sadness, bewilderment at what scale human cruelty can be...
Organizational aspects, among the advantages:
1) Large free parking;
2) modern complex with convenient location of facilities;
3) there is a free toilet;
4) a small entrance fee to the museum (6 Belarusian rubles);
5) you can view all the objects on the street for free.
Of the minuses, the story with the guides is not very clear, they seem to be a separate state)) at the ticket office, the museum is sent to a detached building to arrange an excursion. The price of a tour of the museum is 25 Belarusian rubles, for objects on the street 23 Belarusian rubles. Somehow it turns out to be expensive ((
A heartwarming place. A new interactive museum has opened, which is very interesting. The good girls in the cafe were well fed. It is absolutely necessary to visit this place.
I recommend this place to both adults and children. It is better to have a guide. While listening to the tour, there were tears in my eyes. It's a difficult place, but very, very memorable.
It is a very difficult place in terms of energy, which is understandable. Everything is clean and well maintained. There is a large parking lot, a museum, a cafe and toilets at the entrance.
a beautiful memorial. I've been a hundred times and I'll come again. but the service part after the reconstruction is just sad. huge parking lot, museum, cafe. and on Friday evening, after 18-00, you can only go to the toilet. a lot of tourists come in and nothing works.
I probably won't find the right words. It is enough to read the story of one surviving adult. And go to a couple of steles with the names of the families who lived there, in order to understand and realize all the horror that happened there. I would like to have such monuments of sorrow throughout our country, that children and grandchildren already remembered my children.
The indescribable tremor is the power of this place. This memorable place will not leave anyone indifferent.Large Parking, toilets, cafes. Don't forget to visit the museum. Take some flowers with you.
A wonderful historical monument. In the memorial complex, you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of events. For history lovers and tourists, I recommend a visit.
Briefly about the main thing:
"Thank you very much and I bow low to you, Belarusians, for so carefully preserving the memory of people who passed through hell ... the memory of the lost villages and towns ... this grief cannot be experienced and forgotten, you need to live with it."
The main thing is short:
"Memory is eternal as long as there are such places."
An interesting place with a tragic history. The only thing I didn't like was the design of the park, the prevailing color palette of an unpleasant gray color, and everything is made of concrete.
Hello there. The memorial is certainly grandiose. It occupies a very large area. There are signs everywhere, everything can be read. It is a pity that the museum was closed for no clear reason. The access road to the memorial is very good, there is a large parking area.
Goosebumps! The bells are ringing every 30 seconds. The combination of silence and their battle creates some kind of mesmerizing atmosphere. It is better to take a guide, or look at the essence of this online in advance
This scorched Earth will remain forever in my memory. A memorial where there is ringing silence in the air and only the sound of a bell brings you back to reality ... the museum is incredible! Transmits the inexpressible....
The parking lot is huge. There is a cafe where there is always a queue and the waiting time is 10-15 minutes (fast food)
While the guide was telling the story of this village, we all, without exception, had tears in our eyes. Everyone knew about Khotyn from the school curriculum, but to be in this place and feel it... The alarm is a reminder to all living people not to forget. Bright memory to all those who died in that terrible tragedy.
There is nothing special to say - you need to go there.
The only thing that somewhat jarred my ears was an excursion to the museum on the territory of the focus on Belarus. The victory was the same for everyone and the tragedy too. Dividing who suffered the most and who won the most is the way to nowhere.
I don't know where to start... the memorial complex makes a very strong impression. I visited it for the second time (the first time was in childhood) but it was like the first time. I recommend it to all adults and children. Especially for those who love German beer and cars. My daughter studies at a German gymnasium and after the trip she said that she did not want to learn German anymore....
A mournful place to visit. It's part of our history. Very clean and well maintained. The tour is informative. I advise you to take a guided tour. You can't find out everything on your own.
One of those places that motivates you to live.
This is the second time I bring my children here to appreciate what we have.
I recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to visit this place.
History must be remembered, and even more so such a story.
And let's live together!!!!
God grant everyone.
A very memorable place for everyone, where it gets a little creepy when you realize the scale of the tragedy and think about the number of dead children and adults. The children were very impressed with this place, I would even say they had a "reboot".
It is very atmospheric and creepy, an excellent memorial and really makes you remember the tragedy of the villages of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War
I recommend you to visit in order to understand the price that our people paid for a peaceful sky above their heads, a very spiritual place. Memorials mark every village, every concentration camp where people died, it's good that there are places that people could remember the feat of the people
I was there many, many years ago, but I was stunned again. Special thanks to the guide, she told me in a heartfelt way. After the tour, we wandered around on our own, it was necessary to comprehend the grief in silence.
An excellent memorial complex. I would like to mention the guide Zhar Anna for the excellent guided tours of the memorial complex and the museum. Be sure to visit!
I liked everything very much, I've been dreaming of visiting for a long time. A strict beautiful memorial, maintained at a decent level. Large parking lot, good road to the memorial. The common areas are kept clean.
The place is mandatory to visit. The tragedy of the war is felt in a special way here. Thanks to the creators of the memorial and the people who keep the history. Eternal memory!
This is Khatyn and that says it all. Strong impression and empathy. This is not the place where you want to come - this is the place where you NEED to come. It was gratifying to see the military of Belarus and many Russian compatriots - it means that the memory of the peoples is alive
A very strong place! And I especially want to mention the girl guide (unfortunately, I don't know her name). She is so young, but she tells the story of these places with such feeling! I recommend it to everyone to visit!
An emotionally strong place, a story that we need to know and remember. I advise you to visit here. If possible, visit the museum, interesting interactive stands
It became very cool. The renovation was done, the museum. Everything is neat and not so creepy. Like it.
Every child needs to be taken there and the strangers should not pass by.
It's not just memory - it's history and science for everyone.
The toilets are better than anywhere else. There is a cafe. Huge parking lot.
Khatyn is one of the villages of Belarus in the cemetery of villages park, which is known to everyone, was burned alive.... The memorial is very impressive, we grieve from what we saw...
An amazing place! Goosebumps "ran" all the time of the visit. It is necessary to take both children and adults to such important places so that these horrors never repeat!!!
Khatyn is a place that everyone needs to visit. Everything is symbolic there. If you listen to the tour, you realize that every building has a meaning. The cemetery of 165 villages (166 - Khatyn itself) is a very sad place, as well as everything that surrounds it there.
This is a place of mourning for all residents of the burned villages of Belarus. I think that everyone who goes to Belarus should stop by and honor the memory of the dead residents. We must all remember what fascism is and in no case allow such a thing to happen again.
A must-visit, especially with teenagers. I was in my childhood, I still remember my feelings. This year I brought my daughter, she said that she only understood here why the topic of war is so sensitive for me.
If you are in Belarus, be sure to visit Khatyn. You will see amazing monuments to all those Belarusian villages that were brutally destroyed by the Nazis! Take the children, explain to them that this can never happen again! I bow low to the Belarusians, our friends, who cherish the memory of the war!
It's very hard being there. The whole situation of each memorial speaks of the great tragedy that occurred in these villages. Everyone should visit this complex!
It is a very difficult place in terms of understanding what was happening to the Russian people. monumental. and the sound of a bell above every house. required to visit.
The place itself is heartbreaking, realizing what atrocities were cooked by inhumans and fascists. The complex itself is well organized. There must be such places to honor the memory and not erase it in our minds, as well as to convey it to our children and future generations.
Khotyn. A monumental monument to the atrocities of fascism. A furnace pipe with a bell is made above each burned house, after a certain time all the bells ring. Very heartfelt. It's free. There is also a small museum, it is paid. Toilets and cafes are also available.
Impressive. History must be remembered and honored, and it's good that there are places that remind us of this!!! The parking lot is huge... the toilets are hidden underground.
Brest fortress, Babi Yar, Mamayev Kurgan, Piskarevskoye cemetery, how many such places, famous and not so much in the expanses of the former USSR, Khatyn is certainly one of them and it is necessary to visit it.
We, the descendants of those who fought without sparing ourselves on the fronts, fleets, flotillas of the Great Patriotic War, in the underground, in partisan detachments and formations, those who with inhuman efforts brought victory closer in the rear, those who died of hunger and cold in besieged Leningrad, those who were burned, killed by fascists and their henchmen in concentration camps, villages villages and cities, we simply have no right to forget about them, so that there will be no grief, devastation and death again.
I will finish with the words from a poem by Robert Rozhdestvensky:
Meet the trembling spring, people of the Earth.
Kill the war, curse the war, people of the Earth!
Carry your dream through the years and fill it with life!..
But for those who will never come again,
I conjure you, remember!
This place cannot be called a park. It is located on the territory of the Khatyn Memorial complex. A place of sorrow and tears. Each slab is the name of a village that was completely destroyed by the Nazis. The excursions are interesting and sad. This place is a reminder that war can touch anyone
Impressive! Although an interactive museum looks like a picture against the background of a monument! I recommend the monument first! And anyway... don't go to the museum... not really!
