The park seems to be constantly closed. We travelled there twice, and both time they had some excuse to have it closed to general public. Very annoying, as it’s quite far from the centre

The park is a great place to relax, quiet, fresh cool air, very beautiful view. There are bike paths, the park is generally monitored, benches and road surface are in good condition, there are playgrounds, small coffee shops for a snack. The pine forest deserves special praise. A lot of almost tame squirrels, pleases both children and adults. It is impossible to remain indifferent to these cute fuzzies. Feeding nuts by hand is a special pleasure. It is possible to sit in the shade of spreading trees, think, chat with friends at any end of the park.

A view rotunda, sculptures and a mini Japanese garden. There are a lot of people walking. Weddings, children. Photographers appeared offering to take photos against the background of the mountains. There is a fountain in front of the park entrance. There is coffee, ice cream and more in the park.

I recently visited the Park named after the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, and it was a great time! The park really impresses with its beauty and grandeur.
First, I walked under the arch, which is the entrance to the park, and immediately felt the atmosphere of solemnity and grandeur. The park turned out to be very spacious and green, with lots of trees, flower beds and flower arrangements. Walking along its alleys, I enjoyed the manicured lawns and the fresh air.
I especially remember the observation deck, which offers stunning views of the mountains. This is one of those places where you can just stand and enjoy the surrounding scenery, feeling calm and in harmony with nature.
I also noticed that the park has many areas for outdoor activities: running tracks, bike trails and playgrounds. This makes it a great place for a family vacation. I saw a lot of people who were doing sports, walking with children or having picnics. The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed.
Overall, the visit to the park left me with extremely positive impressions. This is a wonderful place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, enjoy nature and just spend time outdoors. I will definitely come back here again!

But there are more disadvantages: pomposity, a claim to some kind of incomprehensible greatness, the idea itself smacks of politicization. Moreover, it is impossible to walk in the park in clear, sunny weather: there is no shade anywhere. Finally, the dominance of unruly and ill-mannered children discourages any desire to come there again at the end of the walk. Being in this park, you feel as if you are on a giant hard platform: something like in "Mega", "Grand Park" or "Forum". The same contingent.

Well, it is very well located.
There is Parking, it is always clean inside, there are good themed places, a lot of places for a photo shoot, inside there is a cafe where you can eat tea, coffee, ice cream, there are toilets, there are playgrounds for children, a lot of treadmills, a lot of greenery, squirrels,pheasants, ducks, too, all sorts of different birds.
It's not a shame to bring foreign guests.

The entrance itself is very beautiful both in the afternoon and in the evening when the lights are turned on, the views are gorgeous, but the huge disadvantage is that this year it seems to have been forgotten about! The playground is in terrible condition, the flower beds are not well maintained, the fantans did not work the 3 times we were there, and there is still nowhere to hide if it suddenly rains! There are no verandas with a roof, the cafe is very small, only 6-7 people can fit standing there! So the roads are broken in places! The park looked much better that year! In general, the rating is probably even overestimated only due to the stunningly beautiful view, in good weather 🙂

Former orchards of the unique Aport apple variety. They were cut down in the 90s, built up with "elite" high-rise buildings that violated the eco-balance - the air from the mountains no longer blows through Almaty, the city is suffocating, and it is impossible to revive the apple. And when it was put on the table of the Secretaries General, it was sent as a rare diplomatic gift to the heads of state. The whole country was hunting for this huge, juicy, red, fragrant apple with a unique taste. He's not here. But Nazarbayev was able to buy back a small plot. The apples were not revived, but the park was laid out. Quite decent. Beautiful mountain views. An excellent artificial 12-m embankment with an observation deck and a gazebo at the top. The monument to the first president is somewhat shocking...But this is Asia, these are your cults. Fountains are interestingly illuminated in the evening. However, that's all. It's cooler here in the heat. The same air from the mountains!
