When choosing a hotel, I was guided by the reviews of tourists.
I chose among the hotels with a high rating.
It was fundamentally important for me that PAPOUIS PROTARAS HOTEL 3* is not a chain hotel of the Tsokkos Hotels system.
Overbooking is flourishing in this hotel system.
That is, a tourist who has bought a tour package to one hotel of this network can, without his consent, be settled in another hotel of this network, which can be much worse (old dead furniture and plumbing, the smell of sewage and detergents, dirt in the hotel, poor cleaning and service, ants/cockroaches/bedbugs in the room, far from the beach, strong noise from bars/karaoke until the morning, poor sound insulation in the room and much more).
I chose a room with a mountain view (Standard Mountain View) because the reviews wrote that:
+ This side is in the shade during the day, so it's not hot, you can sit on the balcony during the day and not languish from the heat. All right. Due to this, the air conditioner was not used at all, and without it the temperature in the room was comfortable.
+ This side of the hotel is quieter than the Sea View (Standard Sea View), which overlooks the pool and bar where from 10:00 to 24:00 the noise from the bar and animation.
In fact, on the side with a view of the mountains (even-numbered rooms) on some days there was so much noise from nearby hotels and restaurants (music, songs, screams until 04:00 in the morning) that I had to close the balcony tightly in the evening to fall asleep.
Food.
We took HB (breakfast and dinner). It's quite enough, it's hot in the afternoon and I don't want to eat. In addition, with this type of food, it is not "tied" to the hotel as with All (all inclusive). And you can have lunch in the numerous cafes and restaurants of Protaras.
When evaluated on a five-point scale, the food in the hotel can be given a solid "four".
It is quite varied and tasty for 3*.
The choice of the beach.
Beaches-coves (see the map of Protaras).
This is the bay closest to the hotel ("Potam Bay"), which you run into if you go from the hotel to the sea (I would not recommend it because there is a sewer on the shore of this bay, stones in the water, gray sand with pebbles).
As well as the second and third ("Pernera Bay", "Pernera Bay") bays to her left and the bay "Fig Tree Bay" ("Fig Tree Bay") to her right.
The advantages of all these bays are that:
+ There are no big waves in strong winds.
+ The water in them is warmer than on a large municipal beach.
+ The bays are small and suitable for children and those who cannot swim or swim badly.
Disadvantages of all bays:
- the water in them is dirty.
The sand on all beaches from "Perner Bay" to "Fig Tree Bay" is quite dirty (cigarette butts, garbage).
We went to Pernera Bay beach only on the first and last day. The rest of the days we went to the large municipal beach Vryssi Beach. We stayed between the Vrissaki Beach and Vrissiana Beach hotels.
The advantages of the large Vryssi Beach:
+ blue flag. He testifies that the beach has been successfully tested according to 27 international criteria, it is clean and meets environmental standards.
There is a pattern of white stripes on the flag, which means that this is a high-comfort beach.
There are almost no beaches approved by the Blue Flag award on the territory of Russia and Ukraine,
+ the water is very clean, transparent,
+ sandy beach,
+ gentle entrance to the water,
+ the length of the beach is ~ 900 meters,
+ wide beach strip (~ 30-50 meters), half of the beach - without umbrellas and sun beds (you can sunbathe on your towel on the sand, with your umbrella).
+ there are areas on the beach where there are few people (where pontoons with water entertainment are installed). But there are no umbrellas and sun beds in these areas,
+ a lot of water activities (paragliding (parachuting behind a motorboat), water skiing, canoeing, catamaran, windsurfing, riding a "tablet" – a round inflatable shell, similar to a children's inflatable pool with side handles, jet ski, etc.)
+ toilets (free),
+ showers (free),
+ footwashers (free of charge),
+ changing rooms (free of charge),
+ parking (free of charge),
+ cafes, restaurants,
+ rescuers.
Cons of the large Vryssi Beach:
- the water temperature is lower than in the bays.
- there are no breakwaters, respectively, large waves in strong winds. (Relevant primarily for children).
- in very strong winds, the waves can be so large that a red flag will be hung on the beach (swimming is prohibited).
- there are areas with rocky bottoms in the water, .
When evaluated on a five-point scale, the large municipal beach Vryssi Beach is a solid 4.
We were satisfied with our stay in Protaras and directly at the PAPOUIS PROTARAS HOTEL 3*. What they hoped for, they got.
But if we gather in Protaras again, we will probably choose a hotel closer to the large municipal beach Vryssi Beach.
The hotel is good, not far from the sea, the staff is all friendly, many understand Russian. The food was basically delicious, varied, the children really only ate fries with nuggets.🤦🏻♀️ Very tasty croissants for breakfast. The animator is a Russian girl, the children do not part with her all evening, songs, dances, contests, in general, the children were busy, we are free 😁
The room was cleaned every day, although our towels quickly fell into disrepair, but new ones were constantly brought to us, although it is written that they are changed every three days. They have VERY arrogant sparrows!! If you decide to eat outside, do not leave the food unattended!! They swoop in, they spread everything in a minute))
There is an iron at the reception, a small refrigerator in the room, a TV (there is even 1 Russian channel), a hair dryer, soaps for hands, hair, and a shower.
There is a small playground, slot machines (football, hockey, toy machine) billiards, a tennis table (rackets at the animator), a swimming pool, there is a children's, there is an adult.
The bar, if you have everything included, is generally super 👍😁 cocktails tried everything, everything is great, my husband and I liked it))
Personally, I didn't like Protaras (and even then, it's not even Protaras, but its suburb), it's quiet, there's nowhere to walk, there are no people. And the hotel is a credit, despite the 3 stars.
A super hotel, budget, but very cozy, delicious food, cocktails are just a bomb 🙌 will show their variety, they are done conscientiously. One of the few places where there is an "all inclusive". The only thing I didn't really like was the old rooms, maybe we weren't very lucky with the rooms.
There is also a small playground, billiards, table tennis and air hockey.
There is free Wi-Fi, which catches well throughout the territory 👍🏻
The hotel is not bad.
Decent food, swimming pools, even small evening programs for children. It's close to the sea.
Of the main disadvantages: the old room stock (upon arrival, even all the glasses with chips turned out to be a small mold around the perimeter of the shower) and uncontrolled smoking throughout the territory, including in the restaurant (unfortunately there are no special smoking rooms)
We rested at the hotel from 24.10. to 07.11.2021. The hotel is super good for that kind of money. Russian-speaking friendly staff. We went all inclusive. The food was very good, a rich assortment, everything is very tasty. Cleaning is a little lame. And the problem with Wi-Fi is that it constantly crashes. In the pool, it is advisable to make an additional step lower, not everyone's legs rise so high.
In general, I liked everything. There is enough food and everything is delicious, friendly staff, and cocktails at the bar are a separate plus. The territory is small but overall cozy and clean. The only thing that was not very pleasant was when the linen was changed in the room, and it was all stained.
The rooms need renovation, of course, but otherwise everything is fine. Near the beach, the beautiful promenade , bus stop . The food is delicious, I didn't like the wine, we took everything included. And this hotel has the most delicious croissants, our whole family liked it. Thanks to the cook 🙂
We stayed at this hotel in late May-early June 2019 with mom and daughter 4.10 years old. The room was on the 3rd floor, overlooking the pool. The room is clean, the furniture is in good condition. Cleaning was done every day, which was always asked and given. The food is just for slaughter-what is not there, you will not find this anywhere, believe me!! There was even champagne in the morning! The child really liked the animation. Seachala is a child, then an adult)) The staff is friendly, no one looks at what and how much fruit you took with you, they took it out calmly on a plate to a child, and no one said a word! To the sea, if you go to the main wide beach, 20 minutes by road...but we went mostly in the morning, and in the evening to the bay (5-7 minutes), you can sit alone in the evenings, and there are fewer people. Walking didn't bother me. There are a lot of shops in Protaras itself, and it's the best place for walking. There is a bus stop next to the hotel, we went everywhere. In general, I recommend it. Excellent 3*. I don't know how it is now, in 2021 after the pandemic and with it...but I remember Smartline with an impression!
A cool hotel, there would be more Russians and night clubs with dancing until the morning for young people!!! The hotel is nice, clean, the hotel grounds are beautiful with a swimming pool and delicious food. I especially remember their mini croissants with butter and a variety of fresh fruits. 😘👍💖
A good hotel for its price. I liked everything. A large warm pool, a good restaurant and a menu. Decent alcoholic beverages. The only thing that is unusual for me is that the sea is too far away! I recommend the hotel!
Dear vacationers, please note that this hotel has 3 stars, so be prepared that it is not 5 stars)))
An excellent hotel at an adequate cost. We lived as a family (2 adults + 2 children) in room 316. Beautiful view from the window of the city and the sea, and most importantly quiet. Please note that the room overlooking the pool will listen to evening shows and screams from the bar.
Very high-quality and delicious food, of course there are repetitive and standard dishes, but the chefs try very hard and make it delicious, like at home.
Don't expect a million dishes like in Turkey.
Guys, this is Cyprus - go for a walk, enjoy trips and excursions, swim in the sea and just relax!
For these purposes, it is just the perfect hotel for a family holiday!
The hotel owner is a great fellow, he personally controls everything and if there are any discrepancies, he will meet you halfway.
Nice hotel, pleasant and courteous staff. There is a swimming pool, the food is delicious. The location is quite convenient. The view from the window and the beach closest to the hotel in the attached photos. September 2021.
A good hotel with delicious food, 4.5 stars, the beach is relatively close for Protaras. Sea view. A cozy clean room. A very attentive administrator. There are no disadvantages, really)) I recommend it)
They were in October 2021. The food is excellent, fresh orange for breakfast, bottled water for free. The staff are hard workers, special thanks to the restaurant staff. One of the disadvantages is the old furniture, repainted in white. The mattresses are very comfortable.
Attentive staff. Meals: meat, fish, poultry every day and cooked very tasty and drinks at the bar. In the evening, there is no intrusive animation, live music. I recommend this excellent hotel to everyone.
A good hotel, but the rooms certainly want the best, but if you only sleep, then there is air conditioning and Wi-Fi, which is unequivocal +
The food is varied, the meat has respect for the nuggets, which have always been a lot, in general I am satisfied
A normal hotel! The staff is friendly, many speak Russian well. The food is delicious. Of course, there are jambs both in the rooms and on the territory. This is the Euro version of Abkhazia after all. The sauna does not work, but who needs it in Cyprus! There is a good gym and squash. It's a five-minute walk to the sea. I liked it in principle.
We had a vacation with a friend in late May-early June 2021. There were very few people in Cyprus, but this hotel was overcrowded: this is probably due to the fact that not all hotels, shops and cafes had opened after quarantine; and those hotels that had opened were filled to the maximum. The staff is very friendly, however, like all Cypriots, in my opinion (this is our first trip to Cyprus). Russian Russian is spoken by all the employees, and some of them speak Russian, for example, the administrator Elena cordially answered all our questions and helped to solve minor problems, perfectly speaking Russian. The food is varied and natural (we took all inclusive):always fresh vegetables, salads, olives + olives, eggplants, cauliflower, broccoli, fish, several types of meat, good quality olive oil, capers and dolma were given once a week, delicious (not sweet desserts); from fruits there were watermelons, melons, beautiful red apples, small bananas and oranges. In the mornings, freshly squeezed orange juice, decent coffee (grains) and tea made from local herbs in bags were especially pleasing. In the evenings, local dry white, pink and red wines were tasted; only cuba libre was taken from cocktails - quite decent quality. The room was on the 3rd floor with a good view of the cozy town of Protaras, and the sea loomed in the distance))), which is about a 10-minute walk at a calm pace. The cleaning is normal, the rooms and linen are clean. Drinking water was supplied in the room for 1 liter per day, but in the bar you could take half-liter bottles of water without restrictions. The safe, however, is prehistoric and there is no sound insulation in the rooms: we realized this when the neighbors - a young couple began to sort things out - we talked quite loudly too))) Probably, when they heard us, they began to behave very quietly! In general, we are satisfied with the hotel, and most of all we liked the beach of the Polyxenia Isaak luxury villas hotel, which we went to every day, with a beautiful sandy bay and a cozy "football" lawn throughout the bay.
I was with my wife this summer) Especially in Pondemia - any vacation is already a whole holiday) Of course, the hotel is in some kind of limbo - Apparently they still do not understand the work is being restored to normal mode or it will still be closed. So there were not enough staff, there were a lot of empty bars, reception was working in a limited mode. But even that couldn't ruin the vacation. So if you want to have a budget vacation On the beautiful island of Cyprus - a very good hotel!
A good hotel with a high level of service. Nothing superfluous, but at the same time everything you need is there. The food is delicious, high-quality, no queues. The staff is diligent. Light animation. Live music on weekends in the evenings. It was very cozy and comfortable.
A decent hotel , the sea is not far away , the food is without frills but delicious! You can take a walk, children's animation is not far from the center, they were always present!
Still, it's better to have a 4-star without power than a 3-star all inclusive
We were sent to 3ku for two days from the 4th floor of the hotel, but with all the privileges.
It is ideal for families with children, but for the young and energetic, this place is not quite suitable.
It's a great place. The beach is 10 minutes away, the rooms are clean, the food is delicious, freshly squeezed juice in the morning, drinks at the bar are good, entertainment for children.
It's worth the money!!
Hello! We had a rest in June 2021, the hotel is on a solid 4+, clean, cozy. Cleaning every day, variety in food. Friendly staff. Everything is fine, I advise you
The food is normal. The room service is so-so. The staff speaks Russian poorly. Wi-fi is paid)) The TV remote control must be taken at the reception. Animation is only available on certain days. And so it will go with beer
It was in the second half of June 2021, the rooms are on the minimum) the remot is tired, but everything works! Cleaning every day! Everything is clean . A bunch of AI cocktails. The food is delicious queues)) it happened 2 times in 2 weeks! Greetings to our tourists;) on the other hand, they gave a champagne battle)

We are resting in this hotel now, room 427. The tour was a long-awaited, long-awaited one. In confirmation of other reviews, the menu is varied, several types of meat daily, fish, fragrant fruits (watermelons, melons, peaches, bananas, oranges, apples), delicious pastries (croissants, cakes, pastries, fruit jelly), freshly squeezed orange juice in unlimited quantities at breakfast. The chef tries his best. Regular disinfection is carried out in the restaurant hall. The staff is very conscientious, responsive, understands Russian. The head manager of the hotel, Andreas, is a professional in his field, personally helps in any situation!!!
Free Wi-Fi, two nimble elevators, free bottled water.
I recommend the hotel as the best value for money.
I'll come again!!!
Responsive staff, high-quality service, overall a great hotel. I had a vacation in June 2021 with my wife and daughter. Everyone liked it. And Cyprus is now my love.

A normal hotel, it corresponds to 3 stars. Rooms, food - no frills, but quite acceptable. There is really no animation. The option is more suitable for the older generation and families with young children. A small but very nice area next to the pool. Palm trees, other trees, lawn, sun beds, umbrellas, lots of shade. During the day, in the hottest weather, it is quite possible to lie down and read.
Clean, the rooms are cleaned every day. The food is the same every day. If you want to hang out, it's better to choose a hotel in Ayyanapa. The sea is not close, 15-20 minutes on foot. And so I advise you.
I was with my wife for 21 years, I really liked everything.
We lived with a sea view, only the sea is not visible, you can see a well-functioning hotel.
For your money, an excellent Hotel, we stayed for a week in October 2021, special thanks to the Vista bartender , a 10-minute quiet walk to the sea. I recommend the hotel!
The rooms are very small. The food is passable. You will definitely not stay hungry. Locally produced alcohol. Overall, it's good. Doubling from the sea, but it is immediately known. I recommend
I really liked the hotel. Especially after the noisy Cleoparta in Ayia Napa. The room was clean and spacious enough. We cleaned every day and changed the towels too. The food is varied, there is even freshly squeezed orange juice and nuts. I especially liked the very handsome waiter manager.
A magnificent hotel. The service is worthy of its money. Delicious and extensive menu, very good animation, delicious cocktails at the bar. 5-7 minutes walk to the sea. I recommend you to visit. There is probably one of the best hotels in this area (conclusions are drawn based on reviews from guests of neighboring hotels).
The hotel is not bad, but it is old. It is noticeable by the numbers, especially the bathroom. Polite staff. Almost everyone speaks Russian. Overall, we are satisfied!
Great hotel! Cheap and angry) Beautiful Cyprus at an affordable price.

The hotel is good, the food is good. But there is no good beach. To get to a good beach, you need to take a bus or walk, but in the heat this is not an option. And there is a cafe across the street where locals sing until 2 or 3 at night and interfere with sleep.
We are out of season. The rooms on the north side are cold and damp.the problems were eliminated, like a non-working hair dryer and hot water.but they asked to go to the sunny side, but not immediately, after three days, they slept in their clothes.rooms, the design of the hotel is medium-wooden painted doors.Stanya, in short, after the repair. We played in a large tennis court, a gym.the sea is a 15-minute walk along the road with shops and shops.
I liked the food, they even served mussels in sauce.the pool is large and children's-hp without heating.and so I would have been satisfied if it hadn't been for the cold weather.beat c4-12. thank you to the management and staff.of course, it is difficult to get through Moscow from Kazan
