This hotel is popular with tourists because of the price-quality ratio.
Also, it was fundamentally important for me when choosing a hotel that in 2017, renovation was carried out in Papantonia (the Year of construction: 1994).
Another advantage of Papantonia is that it is located in the PERNERA area, where it is quiet and sparsely populated, unlike the center of Protaras.
At the same time, a 20-minute walk through the fields from Papantonia to the center of Protaras.
There is information on the Internet that the name of Papantonia is: PAPANTONIA HOTEL APARTMENTS 4* or 3*.
In fact, the exact name of Papantonia is PAPANTONIA HOTEL APARTMENT.
It is important to pay attention to the following:
for first.
--------------------
The Papantonia Hotel DOES NOT HAVE A SINGLE star.
secondly.
------------------
Papantonia Hotel is part of the Tsokkos Hotels & Resorts hotel chain, the largest hotel chain in Cyprus (35 years on the market, 29 hotels in Protaras, Ayia Napa and Paphos).
This chain is distinguished by the fact that OVERBOOKING is widely practiced in its member hotels.
A tourist who has bought a tour package to the Papantonia hotel can, without his consent, be settled in another hotel of this chain, which can be much worse (old furniture and plumbing, the smell of sewage and detergents, dirt in the hotel, poor cleaning and service, ants /cockroaches /bedbugs in the room, far from the beach, strong noise from bars/karaoke to the morning, poor sound insulation in the room and much more).
As a rule, this happens with tourists from the Russian Federation.
Resume.
------------
Optimization of expenses when traveling to Cyprus:
+ Buy a package tour, as in this case it is possible to save up to 50% of the cost of the trip compared to a separate booking of the hotel and flight.
+ Buy a tour package for early booking because you can save up to 30% of the cost of the trip.
+ Buy a travel package with meals at the hotel (HB or All).
We were satisfied with the rest in Protaras and directly at the Papantonia hotel.
What we expected, we got.
I can recommend Papantonia Hotel as a budget holiday option in Protaras,
BUT! provided that you don't get to overbooking.
The hotel is good, in the evenings there is a children's disco and an entertainment program for kids. In the restaurant area there are tables on the street and indoors, there are quite a lot of high chairs for feeding of various modifications. The rooms in the hotel have 1, 2 and 3 rooms. The 2-room room has one room- a kitchen-living room with a balcony, a small kitchen with a stove , refrigerator and sink, the second room is a bedroom with air conditioning. In the bedroom there is a small wardrobe with a safe and a minimum number of hangers, a large mirror and a dressing table, 2 bedside tables next to the bed. If you are traveling with a small child, you will also have a playpen cot. The bathroom is combined, shower, sink and toilet. There are no towel hooks in the bathroom, so either take it with you, or hang it on the door, partition, or wherever you attach it.
For breakfast and dinner, the diet is quite modest, the choice is not very large, mainly fries, eggs, and some meat. There are several types of salads.
The nearest beach with the sea is a 5-minute walk through a more expensive hotel of the same chain. Next to the beach is small, but cozy, with good Internet for €, when paying for sunbeds, you are given a receipt with a password to wi-fi, valid for exactly one day. If you don't need the Internet, you can lie down on the free lawn beds that belong to the hotel chain. In the pools near the building, the water was cold in October, you can't swim with a child. The children's pool has a waterfall. There is a playground with slides on the territory of your hotel, which will be interesting for kids.
In general, the hotel is good, you can buy a tour without meals and eat by yourself.
The hotel is wonderful, the food is not like in Turkey, but you will not stay hungry, the food is always fresh, the cleaning is excellent, towels are changed in a timely manner. We stayed at this hotel 4 times, we were never disappointed, I recommend it!
Super, I liked EVERYTHING! The sea is nearby, rooms, meals, except for the lack of Internet in the rooms. A place where we would go again . The sea is nearby, it's nice to go to it, through the pools of other hotels, until you get there you buy everywhere). In the evenings there were entertainment programs, they always went, played the same children's songs with dances, by the end of the vacation they knew everything by heart with the whole family, sang along and danced better than the presenters))). I definitely recommend it.
Not a bad hotel with apartments.
The food is delicious, but meager.
The choice of dishes is not large, it gets boring in a week.
Pros this is a room, it is very convenient for a family with children, parents in the bedroom, children in the second room.
This is the most inexpensive option with two-room accommodation
Minus that it takes 20 minutes to walk to the best beach of Protaras Fig three Bay.
We were in a car, so it didn't matter to us.
The hotel is wonderful; the food is super; the rooms are normal:there are two rooms, and there are studios, if you're lucky; the staff is friendly; a little far from the sea, but there is a cool pool. But there is one drawback, Wi-Fi at the reception seems to be there, but in fact it is not there, you have to wait and catch when it is not loaded, for whom it does not matter, then the thaw is super.WiFi can be caught on the beach and in cafes for free.
Strangely enough, I will praise this hotel. Everything is clean, cozy, and the view from the rooms is not on the sea, although there is a compartment where the windows overlook the sea, although a little. But overall, I liked everything. We waited for the room until exactly 14 o'clock, although we arrived early in the morning (more people came with us, they paid extra, they were settled right away (I did not like this fact). The sea is nearby, the beaches are the best, for a reasonable price, take it and be satisfied!
A very good hotel!
Clear. Breakfast and dinner are good!
The staff is helpful!
There is a supermarket 50 m away.
Not very good wi-fi, but these are the nuances ...
10-12 minutes to the sea. Several beaches within a 20-minute walk
It was the first vacation in Cyprus, without pathos. The rooms in 2013 were old, but cozy (bedroom and living room on the 1st floor, view of the courts). The passage to the sea through other hotels is a 5-minute walk waddling. Its own bay with breakwaters, the bottom is small pebbles, the breakwaters have large boulders on the bottom, the beach is sand + small pebbles, in September the sea was warm. You can walk in peace, swim in other pools (there is no restriction on the territory as in Turkey, except for the water park, it is paid. We walked a lot and took a buggy (there are restrictions on leaving the tracks on it, respectively, you will not ride all over Cyprus, unlike a car.
Shops, restaurants and bars are nearby. Transfer from the airport takes about 1.5 hours.(the time depends on the number of hotels and check-ins in them).
A good hotel, responsive staff who strives to fulfill all the whims of the guests. Minuses: according to the all-inclusive system, plain water is not bottled, lunch leaves much to be desired - the same menu is served day after day. In 2 weeks, we preferred to have lunch outside the hotel 5-6 times. So whether it's worth paying extra for all inclusive or not, you decide for yourself, but I wouldn't. The hotel is located in a quiet location, 15-20 minutes walk from the main street. The nearest beach is 200 m away. The room is spacious, 2 rooms, but initially we were offered to accommodate children aged 11 and 13 on one sofa with a width of 100 or 120 cm. Fortunately, they provided an additional cot with a mattress.
It's not a bad hotel, the sea is 5 minutes away, But you need to walk to a good beach for 15 minutes. Whoever is in Cyprus knows that Protaros is a city for grandmothers)) After 23, everyone goes to bed there)) I was with the children, it even suited me very well. The hotel itself is a classic 3+. Everything on this island is within walking distance.
I would advise you to go if you don't want any movement and need a budget.
If you are picky and spoiled by 5p, of course you should not go there. But if you don't worry too much, it will even be very cool.
There is a kitchen in the room, We cooked what we bought in the store.
We went in May 2021.
We took it as part of the tour from Biblioglobus. I liked the hotel, neat, nice pool. There are a lot of couples with children in the summer, but the children didn't bother us much. I didn't really like the kitchen - there's a lot of choice, but I didn't like it. But maybe I'm being too picky.
A great family hotel, the staff is simply better than any praise. The food is at the highest level; very tasty delicious ice cream; breakfast, lunch and dinner are always varied
The 4-star hotel was rented for 4 days. My husband and I were satisfied. Not a bad hotel. Lovely, good-natured staff.
Nice two-room spacious room with a view of the pool.
The pool was clean and somehow pleasant)) Every day I saw how it was cleaned in the morning.
The sea is not far away. And walking to it did not bring discomfort, because you walk along pretty hotels with big theories.
The only thing I didn't like was the food.Very sparse. We always ate in restaurants all over Protaras.
Every evening there were musical programs on the big stage.
So, I want to start my review with a flight, in 4 hours, tea / coffee / water is offered 1 time, that's all, there is no food, so take a snack with you, especially those who are traveling with children. Upon arrival in Cyprus, you take the test right on the street for 32 euros per person. I lived in Protaras, and my arrival was at the airport of Paphos, I had to go on a transfer for about 4 more hours, after a 4-hour flight, another 4 hours of bus is exhausting. My hotel was called papantonia hotel apartments 4 *, Because I arrived at the hotel late, so I missed dinner, but I was given a check for 1 free lunch (my meals were breakfasts and dinners), which I could use the next day.
The food is monotonous, for breakfast, eggs in its various manifestations, breakfast cereals, cheese, sausage. For dinner, meat, chicken, fish, side dish pasta, potatoes, rice. From fruits, oranges and grapefruit, everything. The rooms are more or less clean, cleaned every day except Saturday and Sunday. Also, these days, towels were not changed and gels and shampoos were not added. Adapters for the outlet are paid, they cost 10 euros, if you return it to the reception at the end of the vacation, they give you a deposit. Hair dryers, an iron are also paid, I don't know how much, I didn't take it. Wi-Fi in the lobby was free, but also on Saturday and Sunday nothing worked for them. If you want Internet access, pay money. But fortunately, there is free Wi-Fi access near some hotels on the waterfront. As for excursions, I went to the singing fantasy show, it's spectacular, beautiful, I recommend it, regardless of your age, it's worth a look. Choose seats after 4 rows, otherwise you will sit raw the whole performance. I also took a boat trip called "black pearl", the theme was made for the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean", it will be interesting for children for sure. The whole tour was on a yacht, there was no landing for us to go through the places that were announced by the guides when selling this tour, we all watched from the side while on the yacht. There was a delicious lunch, the portions were large, the drinks were all paid. About the beaches, sun beds are paid 2.5 euros per person everywhere, with all this, the beaches are not completely clean. In conclusion, I want to mention the guide of the Biblio Globus company, who picked me up from the hotel on May 18, 2021, he was drunk, said something not quite intelligible, fortunately they took everyone from the hotels and did not forget anyone, and after that he safely lay down on the bus while we were driving to the airport.
Just returned from a vacation from this hotel on May 22, 2021. On the site, he positions himself at 4*+, but my score is a point lower, also with a plus. The food was: breakfast and dinner, the food is quite edible. Lots of salads, main courses, desserts. But the trouble with oatmeal is that it is cooked only on weekends. Separately, about butter - I saw it only in the first two days, then they began to give only spreads: 25% and 60%- how do you like it? Such petty savings negate a lot. Food for a solid 4+. We didn't see any fruits except orange and grapefruit. Other similar hotels served seafood, melons with watermelons, etc. But most of all, I was upset that the iron, hair dryer and charging adapter are all secured by 10 euros, as well as a paid safe. With a room stock of 112 rooms, they have only 50 hair dryers, I never managed to take it, I rushed late, as it turned out. Cleaning and linen change - everything is fine with that. On Sunday, upon arrival, they could not call home, because there was no wifi at all, apparently there was the most minimal traffic. After our friendly indignation to the administrators, on Monday the traffic was given normal. The beach is not far away, but, however, the beach leaves much to be desired: there are a lot of stones, the sandy area is quite narrow. Neither adults nor children were entertained in any way during the week. On the last day, Friday, there was a male dance duo that showed national dances for 40 minutes - that's all the entertainment. I liked the performance. There is absolutely no desire to go again!
Excellent location (I would call it the second line from the beach - you pass through the hotel of the same network to it and do not cross the highways, the time is 4 minutes).
The food at hb is good and varied.
The rooms are fresh, cleaning is regular.
One of the disadvantages is karaoke under the windows (and sea view +25€/d).
Expensive (and not very high-quality) WiFi in the rooms - 30€ a week.
In general, I am happy as an elephant!
The hotel is good
The food is delicious and varied
The Wi-Fi lobby is free
The rooms are cleaned clean, towels were changed every day
Bed linen every three days
The hotel deserves 5 stars. Clean rooms, magnetic key cards, constant cleaning. The buffet, we had breakfast and dinner, and both were very tasty, the pool behind the building is very clean. Everything is well maintained and the surrounding area and Parking at the hotel.
A terrible hotel at the reception does not put you in anything. There is no animation, there is also no tennis table, there is also no volleyball court, there is one entertainment, this is a show program in the evening and then this program is not of this hotel but of the neighboring one. You can be deprived of alcohol at the bar even if you have everything turned on. To go to the sea through 2 hotels and the bay is not interesting, it looks like a salty pool without a wall.

A great hotel to stay in. The staff is good, almost everyone speaks Russian. There are many shops with reasonable prices near the hotel. The bus stop is not far away. The sea is a hundred meters away and there are many different beaches within walking distance.
Overbooking happened. The hotel came out well, offering lunch in addition to dinner and breakfast. The rooms are clean and the rooms themselves are spacious. The staff is friendly and speaks Russian. The food is good, the lunches and dinners are varied and delicious. The hotel has a swimming pool, terrace, balconies. The beach is 3 minutes away, a good beach is 10 minutes away. Minus-there is no WiFi in the rooms, only in the lobby and it catches poorly
Damn, I don't understand, we stayed at this hotel last year in June, but it was in Protoros, not Ayia Napa... I really liked the hotel! The sea is just around the corner, very close. Rooms of the femeli room type with a kitchenette, kettle, dishes. We had breakfasts and dinners. Guys, it makes no sense to take everything inclusive, there are enough breakfasts and dinners, because it's hot at lunch and you don't want to eat at all. And we also rented a car and drove around the island, we didn't go to the mountains, we went to Ayia Napa and went around several other settlements, mostly to Temples, they look so much like ours! Right-handed cars and left-hand traffic, I thought I wouldn't get used to it, but no, I got used to it quickly. We drove all day and were not tied to the hotel with lunch. They left in the morning and came in the evening. The hotel is good, we don't need animation, we rested on our own, so we were very satisfied with the peace and quiet!
The food is delicious, there is always ice cream for dinner.
Large pools.
The only disadvantage in the family room is the old furniture

Nice hotel. I had a pleasant experience. The buffet is without any special frills, but everything is fresh and delicious. It was quiet, calm, and very comfortable with the children.
I have been to Cyprus several times. This hotel is really nice. Despite the second line, the passage to the sea is close, like some on the first. The kitchen is very cool, there are not so many rooms, the staff is trained as it should be. The rooms are newly renovated..
When I was driving, I was preparing for the worst, and for reasons beyond my control I chose this hotel. But everything was great! The animation is weak, but we didn't need more, we were on the car and not limited to the hotel, but the children had enough. The main disadvantage (not for us, I repeat, we were mobile) this is the absence of a beach, the one that is closest is shameful. It takes about half an hour to get to the others, and for a fee. And as a hotel, it's not bad at all.
I stayed at this hotel even before the innovation, but this year I visited the hotel for the sake of interest, although I myself lived in Ayia Napa.
Everything has changed only for the better. This is a good hotel and a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday. I recommend.
We went on a burning ticket, the price and quality justified themselves

A great hotel, I liked everything, but minus one star for the lack of wifi in the room only in the lobby and that is not very, the last century somehow
Cons: The TV takes only one channel Russia, the toilet barrel is broken, the room key is in one copy (additional is paid separately), there are no latches (locks) on the doors in the room and the same toilet, noise from the street prevents sleeping up to 2-3 hours.
Pros: friendly and competent staff, mostly speaking Russian, more or less clean, the kitchen is very edible.
Polite staff, there is always a manager at the entrance. Free Wi-fi in the lobby. The hotel smokes and the ashes fly to the balcony. The playground is not closed and is not illuminated
