A very interesting monument to Stefan Nemanja was recently erected on the square near the old railway station of Belgrade.
The monument was designed by Alexander Rukavishnikov.
The base of the monument is a pierced, rusted Byzantine helmet, decorated from the inside with reliefs depicting memorable moments of Nemanja's life and the formation of the Serbian state. And the inside of the helmet is the tip of the wand, part of which goes deep into the ground and can be seen through the glass floor.
The monument can be viewed for a very long time, as it is full of symbols that are well understood by everyone who knows the history of Serbia.
A very strange monument that fits the architecture and style of the old city very poorly. At night, the square is pleasantly illuminated, but it looks deserted. There are enough abandoned buildings around and the Beograd Waterfront line is still going on
Beautiful location. Opposite the old railway station. Everything is neat and well maintained. Walking area with benches and plantings. It's nice to take a walk and just relax
