You can get from Sochi first to the border by taxi or bus, then cross the border and ask where the bus station is at the exit - walk 50 meters and get into a minibus, and any one, because all minibuses go to Gagra! The beach is right away and very convenient - the sun beds are helped by a friendly hotel employee, who also takes them away. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. They clean the rooms at your request, - the cleaner asks if the room should be cleaned. Wine and chacha with beer can be ordered at the restaurant bar or you can buy it at a nearby store and bring it with you - this does not offend anyone and is not considered indecent. You can buy all sorts of strawberries and homemade cheese and diversify the aperitif, too, is not prohibited. You need to go to the market in Novaya Gagra, not far away, you can even walk if you are not lazy. It's a long walk to Gagripsh and the colonnade, about five kilometers. By minibus, 50 rubles around the city, walks regularly. And yes, the rooms are quite spacious and tidy, the furniture is comfortable and pleasant to look at. Refrigerator, air conditioning, TV, hair dryer, soap, slippers, shampoo, towels, blankets, Internet, wardrobe, bedside tables, large bed, sofa, armchairs, coffee table - all this was in the room. Barbecue on the street. Panoramic windows. Two balconies with magnificent views of the sea and mountains. The sound of waves is heard, the sea breeze is felt on the balcony. I would like to pay a little more attention to cleaning the room. I didn't really like Gagra beach because of the pebbles. It's kind of sharp there because of the small stones. Special shoes are needed for comfortable bathing. There are remnants of a breakwater in the sea near the hotel, which prevented swimming. We were walking away. The beach is full of entertainment: jet skis, bananas, etc. There aren't as many people as there are in Sochi, which is a big plus. We did not cook at the hotel, although there is such an opportunity there. Cafes, canteens, etc. are full nearby. You definitely won't stay hungry.

Now everything has changed. The cleaning is of poor quality, the receptionists change almost every day. They're always kind of sleepy. The service is disgusting. The room prices are overpriced. For example, last year a suite (this is a 2-room room with a large balcony cost 4,500 in September, now from 7-8 thousand). If you are traveling, for example, the three of you, then add.place 2 thousand rubles. With all this, you may encounter a situation like us. For some reason, the hotel has a booking program on a regular basis. We and another room needed to check out 1 day earlier. They are not going to solve the problem, and they said "the phone will help you, Gagra is big, look for a place to stay for yourself." They have a more loyal attitude towards guests who book rooms through travel agencies and the head hotel of Amra, due to the fact that they squeeze to the fullest. We communicated with the guests on the floor, through the operator for 10 days we overpaid about 80 thousand rubles per family.

We stayed for 3 days in a suite, 6500r a day. The room is large, 2 rooms, panoramic Windows. The sound insulation between the rooms is normal, but music from a nearby cafe can be heard morning and night, boats constantly drive up to the shore and speak into a loudspeaker. Interferes. Large double bed, sofa bed, 2 armchairs, 2 balconies, 2 large TVs, refrigerator, 2 air conditioners, hair dryer, curtains black out. The view from the balcony to the sea is gorgeous, access to the beach is direct from the hotel. There is a guarded parking lot downstairs, tables, a barbecue, a dining room (but no one was seen there).
Cons: in the room (SUITE!!!) there are no hygiene products, not even SOAP! They wanted to wash their hands from the road, but the administrator says: "Go and buy soap for yourself at the market, we don't give out anything." That's the service! The boorish conversation of the administrator makes it clear - "you don't like it, leave." We haven't seen the receptionist anymore, the reception is always empty. In the room, the bottom of the shower is covered in mold and mildew, the faucets are dirty, staged, they have not been cleaned for a long time, the mixer itself is broken - when switching to a watering can, it continues to flow, and a thin stream comes from the watering can, the holder for the watering can is broken. Washing is difficult and unpleasant. The toilet flushes badly. They asked to call a plumber, he just replaced the watering can - it didn't really solve the problem. There are a lot of ants and large beetles in the room (they said they were tree bugs). The room itself is dirty, the cupboards have not been cleaned for a very long time, some splinters (apparently from the installation), the balcony is stained on the floor, the white sheet is covered in black streaks, a lot of different foreign hair. They refused to replace the bed linen, because they no longer have it. There are no blankets either, only 2 small blankets. The room is dark, there is no main lighting, only 2 side flashlights. The Internet is very slow. The ironer is in the hallway on the floor. The doors creak, going to the bathroom at night wakes everyone up. Screws were sticking out of the floor, they called to tighten them. On the 2nd day, a bunch of wooden sticks washed ashore, the sea became dirty, I did not want to swim. There are breakwaters (large stone slabs) 5 meters from the shore, iron pins stick out on many of them (they said that one man cut open his stomach), pins from the bottom were also found between the breakwaters. Swimming is dangerous. On day 3, we got sick (diarrhea, fever, throat, nose). Vacationers tell us that every second person has rotavirus.
The rude conversation of the receptionist at check-in and the dirt in the room left a negative impression of the hotel. And in general, there is a more unpleasant feeling about Abkhazia - expensive tasteless food, inhospitable people, expensive hotels are dirty and squalid, local wine is like tasteless compote, nature is poorer and more uninteresting than the Caucasian republics, the sea is not as clean as in Olginka, and in places it is very dirty. I will not come again and I do not recommend it to anyone. I was so glad to come to Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi and rent a luxury room at the ski lift for 3500 rubles. All our hotels are cheaper and cleaner. P.S. moderators do not allow you to post photos with very dirty tiles in the bathtub, which is covered in fungus, as well as photos of bedbugs in the room. Everything is not bad enough , water (including hot ), light , air conditioning , kitchen , first coastline. it's all good. I put 4 because of the poor cleaning in the rooms. we drove in cleanly , but there is centuries - old dirt under the mattresses , under the bed . you ask to remove , zero attention .
A great place, only positive memories for me, my children and my parents, the most responsive and friendly staff, the kitchen "without words" everyone is happy and not one "disorder" (two people 65+; two people 36; one 5 and one 1.5 years old). What you need to know about this hotel: no matter how much money you pay for a 50,60 or 90 hotel, when you run out of toilet paper, you need to run and ask for it at the reception. And also a change of towels - they couldn't change our towels for more than a week, they asked us every day, and in response they only heard "yes, yes, they will definitely change tomorrow." Although according to the regulations they have a shift every 3 days :) and the nauseating smell in the bathrooms, or we're the only ones who are so lucky. Obviously, the guys need to finalize the service issues.
PS And yes, no one has changed our towels in two weeks. Tired of running after the admin and begging after 10 days.

Cons - the breakfast included in the price is full of trash - coffee from a bag, semolina porridge with lumps, an over-salted omelet. I advise you to go for food outside the territory - in any cafe the price tag is not high, the choice is large (pancakes, omelets, ovaries, cheesecakes) and it will not be difficult to have a delicious breakfast and drink real coffee. There is no complete service in the hotel - linen change every three days. If you want to pay earlier, pay. At the same time, the maid does not hesitate to pick up the dirtier towel from the floor and hang it back on the hook. They replaced it for free only after a towel from the floor was on the hook for the second day in a row and we went to sort it out at the reception. Sun beds, umbrellas, beach towels (if you didn't take your own) - everything is paid. There is a cafe on the territory, but you can eat there only when the "dining room" is open - that is, after 20:00, when the set dinner ends, no one will offer you anything, despite the fact that the menu is hanging from the beach. In general, the hotel is good, but the service needs not just to be tightened, but at least to be born.
