We were at this hotel from July 7 to August 18. We fell into a semi-luxury room. We lived in the second building. I liked everything except the FOOD!!! The food is just a DISGRACE!!! I get 2 stars for this!!! We took breakfast and dinner. At least something else can be eaten at breakfast, but at least something does not suit me personally, for the prices of this tour. At dinner, the food is generally disgusting, bland and not tasty. I'm even ashamed of the Abkhazian women!!! It's just a disgrace!!! I don't want to describe every dish, but I will say that they still have to spoil even the pasta!!!

Not a bad hotel. Of the cons: the food is monotonous, cobwebs hang on the ceiling, the TV in the two-room room of the second one turns out not to work - the nonsense of the administrator. A quiet, peaceful, family-run hotel. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The pool is just great. We had a rest from June 3 to June 9. The weather is gorgeous, neither cold nor hot. It was +23 all the days. All the sights were walked. The sea is just around the corner, through the park. The food is monotonous, but you can eat enough. We went to the Luck cafe for dinner. Everything is very tasty and relatively inexpensive there. Thank you very much, the rest was a success.

Secondly, the hotel positions itself at 4 stars, and there are no bathrobes and slippers in the rooms (not to mention swans on the bed)), there is no phone to contact the reception (Karl! It's four stars!)) I keep silent that in 2 weeks the linen was changed only twice, and the toilet tank worked from clicking on the pipe) Another joint is the air conditioner directly above the bed - snot is provided to the guests. From the Wi-Fi, limping on two legs, I just sobbed (I worked for a C grade only in the toilet, sat there for hours)). The only plus is that we were fed well, but at the same time we all earned the intestines (perhaps the purest water of Abkhazia is to blame)...

Overall, not a bad hotel. Cleaning, food, general view of the rooms, amenities, everything is at a decent level. One of the disadvantages is that you can't smoke on the balcony and it's not a convenient time for breakfast / dinner (everything is very early). The fourth day in the room, they have never washed the floor on the balcony, today I wiped it myself. Shampoos only on the first day of arrival, I haven't seen them since. The beach is very dirty, look carefully, do not cut your feet on corks on bottles, all sorts of branches, pieces of metal, in short tin, I would say the public beach in Sochi is better cleaned. And then his own. There are not enough umbrellas for everyone, some of them are broken. In short, the hotel is praised and sold for the wrong penny, the price tag is overstated by 50 percent. The hotel is completely not customer-oriented! The rooms have a musty smell, the whole bed, the mattresses are old and stink, and I'm very sensitive to smells, it was hard for me. our room overlooked the local river, which also reeked of mud or sewage. The room was cleaned once a week, there are no complaints about this.
The water disappeared for several hours every evening, but at least it reappeared.
The food is so-so, everything is very simple, you can have porridge for breakfast, an omelet, and dinner is very salty, so it's a huge minus for them. There was no fruit at all, salads with fresh vegetables twice a week, the rest of the days there was a salad with rice and crab sticks, it didn't look very good, I didn't dare try it.
A pool with muddy water, did not swim in it.
It is extremely uncomfortable to walk to the beach through roads that do not have pedestrian crossings, the beach itself is normal, there were enough sun beds and umbrellas for everyone.
We found ourselves in this hotel by chance, because overbooking happened in our hotel, two hotels were offered to choose from, the second was in Gagra, this resort was not considered from the word at all!!! I had to choose my Homeland, and our chosen hotel is located in the same area.
I do not recommend this hotel to rest, for this money you can find more comfortable places to stay.

I do not recommend it for recreation. The hotel is uncomfortable, there are no night lights at the beds, in the evening lighting is only from the overhead ceiling, there is a constant problem with the Internet, the application constantly freezes there, there is no cable TV, there is no table in the room, there is also no balcony, there are only 2 cups of dishes, no knives, no plates, no forks, nothing. The shower fills the entire floor, and this water will dry all day, beds, mattresses and pillows are a separate story, everything is the cheapest, a mattress with dependent springs, such that these springs simply fold up to the lamellae, if you have problems with the spine, it will get even worse. The towels were washed, gray-yellow in color, the bathrobes were gray, one was covered with yellow spots. Cleaning- the sink was never washed in 10 days, the only thing that was done was vacuumed every 4 days, the dust from the bedside tables, or from the TV cabinets (or as you can call the design, rather the shelves under the TV) was never wiped. Food- you won't starve, monotonously, without frills, vegetables- cucumbers and chopped tomatoes, a couple of times there were beautifully laid out lettuce leaves. Pros- I didn't find them for myself for the cost of 8000 per day. I strongly do not recommend the hotel.

We had a rest in the summer of 2021, and in the fall the grandmothers went there. I quite liked it. The pool can be visited at least 24 hours (but when it is processed, it is not recommended).

The beach is 10-15 minutes away from the hotel.

The hotel is nice, new, rested at the end of September 2020. The food is good, satisfying, the girls are trying their best. The room is cleaned every day, the only disadvantage in the bathroom is that the curtains have not been hung. The location is good, 10 minutes walk to the sea. The administrator is at the highest level. We didn't swim in the pool, the water turned out to be cold. The territory is small, but clean, confused by the car wash behind the fence by the pool. In the evening, the pool has a good rest, and the noise from the car wash gets in the way. Wi-fi only catches at the bottom of the reception, but I was with my connection. We had a room with a balcony and a view of the river, it was especially cool after a downpour, and birds sang at night.

The first building is located at the entrance, a walk-through, has a children's pool...not very. Upon entry, WiFi is immediately connected to you and you are back in touch with your family (on the territory), but you can also purchase a local SIM card for 600 rubles. Our building has a large swimming pool, excellent modern rooms with air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, balcony, with all amenities and bath accessories. Terry bathrobes and towels for face and body are included. Wonderful dietary nutrition, you will never stay hungry. The only thing was there was no fruit. Friendly staff. The hotel has its own bar where you can buy drinks, coffee or something to eat, or just sit in the lobby. The weather was gorgeous, there was not a day less than 30. The minus is the high humidity, you walk wet all the time. The beach is 7 minutes away by an average step, its own pebble beach, entrance by bracelets. Be sure to bring Aquashouses with you, or buy one before entering the beach. The prices are the same as in Moscow. Do not forget to visit the cave and waterfalls, if you have the strength and desire, climb the mountains. There are many shops and shops outside the hotel, there is a Savings Bank and a pharmacy on the way to the sea.

We had a rest in May 2023. We lived in the Motherland building 1. I think this is the worst hotel in New Athos. There is a refrigerator in the room, which does not cool, but warms. A TV that doesn't show. They do not respond to requests to fix it. By the way, the door closers do not work at all. And now about nutrition. To say that it is very budgetary is to say nothing. If adults can still choose something, then children have nothing to eat. Not only are there no juices and compote at all, there is not even cold water. You need to cool it all the time. We rested in this boarding house from September 8 to September 13, 2022, building 2. I do not recommend it!!! I will try to write the pros and cons objectively. Pros: the sea, the main attractions, cafes / shops within walking distance, the pool is clean and large, linen / towels are clean, the staff tries to smooth out the stay to the best of their abilities. For the rest, apparently, the owner of the hotel decided to save money!!! Gel/shampoo, toothbrushes/paste, slippers, tea, coffee, sugar, water are not provided. The mattresses are too soft, very uncomfortable. There is no cushion to keep from sleeping head down. But the maid, thank her very much, gave me a second pillow. There is no sound insulation in the rooms at all. You can hear literally what the neighbors are saying and doing. It's already inconvenient that you will do something wrong yourself. The sun beds near the pool are half broken. But the most important thing that shocked us was the food!!! We bought accommodation with 3 meals a day, according to another tour. the agent said that there is no accommodation in this boarding house. I understand that if we bought a day at a low price, we could close our eyes. But for 7800, they expected not a variety, but at least to be delicious. Day after day it is monotonous, insipid, tasteless, the serving is such that you look and do not want to eat. The products that are cheaper are chosen. There was never any fruit. In order not to spoil our mood, we only went to breakfast, it was more or less. They took porridge, cottage cheese, casserole, omelette, bread and butter, eggs, sausages. There are also free sun beds and umbrellas on the beach from the hotel, but there are 2 more hotels on this beach, so people are like herrings in a barrel. We also did not use this option, we went a little to the side where we could comfortably accommodate. Our opinion: the price / quality does not match at all!!! If anyone will consider this boarding house, it will be either without food, or only at breakfast. We have something to compare it with! Before the "Homeland" we spent a week in Sukhum at the Garuda boutique hotel for 7500 days, breakfast + dinner included. That's how you need to provide service!!! It was very tasty, varied, and we ran to eat like on a holiday. Conclusion: We do NOT recommend the homeland!!

The food is hearty, but who is waiting, the variety as in Turkey, will not like it, rather like the sanatoriums of Russia: meat every day, in the evening two types of hot, soup, in the morning two types of porridge. The sea is nearby, sun beds, umbrellas are free, the beach is pebbly. Along the way there are shops, a bakery, a canteen. Wine, chacha, tea were taken from a woman right at the gate of the hotel. Water, on the advice of many, was also bought. Excursions were taken from Madeleine's girlfriend right at the hotel. He tells everything, explains everything, and offers the best options. Within walking distance of attractions: caves, waterfall, old railway road, New Athos monastery, Stalin's cottage. However, next to the pool, through the fence, there is a car wash, from where warm water is poured into the pool. Adjacent to the hotel is an abandoned building and a kind of hostel, which also looks like an abandoned building, the views of these buildings cannot be called aesthetic. There are a lot of dogs on the territory of the hotel, vacationers feed them diligently, which is why there are more and more dogs, they arrange fights and drink water from the pool. You can only eat in the room attached to your building, the second building uses a giant mausoleum lined with tiles as a dining room, it's sad there, but no one forbids you to take tables by the pool for eating. Residents of the first building eat in a romantic place, in an open area by the river, but in spring it may be cold to eat there, and in summer the river hardly looks like a river. The food is such that you can satisfy your hunger, but it is difficult to get pleasure, in May there were no fruits, which is understandable, but there were no vegetables either, cabbage salad, then cucumbers appeared. The hotel has its own beach, but by the end of our vacation it became problematic to take a sunbed there, we had to come at sunrise to stake out an umbrella and a cot.

All attractions are within walking distance. New Athos min 20,Waterfall and hermit's cave in 10 min. The fortress is about 1 hour old. I advise you to go on an excursion to the thermal springs.The 2nd building is all new, it is better to take a view of the park. We had a rest in July 2022 in the first building. The room is nice, with a view of the park, a large balcony with a sofa, a table and a dryer; the room has a kettle, a hairdryer. Good enough sound insulation. That's where the advantages end. The cleaning was daily, but it consisted of throwing out garbage and replenishing toilet paper. The linen and towels were changed once in the whole week. A bag of shampoo was given out once for all the time, no shower gel, no soap.
Food. If you are satisfied with eating without vegetables and fruits, even in summer, you are here. The food is monotonous, with a choice of two dishes (lunch and dinner), usually buckwheat, pasta, pilaf, chickens (they cannot be eaten), pea / bean soup or noodles. There is one salad, either cabbage or beetroot/carrot. Only cutlets are normal. We had lunch several times in the dining room number 7 on the way to the beach - they cook delicious food there and there is a large selection, we ate desserts at the Luck cafe.
Breakfast is an omelet with sausage /sausage, over-sweetened porridge. It is impossible to drink Lisma tea or coffee in a 3 in 1 brown eagle package from drinks. We drank all our own in the room. Instead of a restaurant, there is an open veranda next to the river, where sick dogs come (there are many of them on the territory of the hotel, they breed in an abandoned building on the territory of the hotel, which spoils the view. They also dry the bed linen there). The smells of sewage can also be heard here.
The pool is too small in size and depth - the water is waist-deep for an adult. The second building has a larger and deeper pool, but if you live in the first building, you cannot use it.
Sightseeing tours are sold on site. We took an excursion to Lake Ritsa, without any special impressions.
The location of the hotel is good - all the sights are nearby. The sea is 7-10 minutes away, there is a beach with umbrellas and sun beds, but it does not look like foreign beaches.
The advantages of the hotel: the location, a good room and a balcony. The hotel and the grounds are quiet
Cons - for me, the main disadvantage is nutrition. The tour was sold with three meals a day, if I knew how to feed, I would have chosen a better hotel without food.
In general, the resort is good - beautiful nature, clean air, many attractions

The walls are so thin that you can hear what they are whispering about in another room. The price and quality vary greatly. The only thing that pleased me was the territory with a swimming pool with tables, the sea nearby. But you don't go on vacation to this particular Homeland anymore. But the cafe on the beach is super duper. The barmaid girls are cool, the food there is delicious. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. There are many hotels in New Athos that are 100 times better. Yes, and there are cockroaches, and a drain is drained into the river nearby

We rested at the hotel in the first half of May. The hotel is very nice. Responsive staff. Especially the administrator Olga. The rooms are large and comfortable. Everything is clean. The heated pool is very clean. The food is health-improving and dietary. It is suitable for elderly people and children. Many thanks to the hotel staff for a wonderful stay.

We rested in July 2022 at the Rodina hotel (2nd building), the room is clean, branded towels, bathrobes, the pool is cleaned in the morning, the hotel territory is also monitored, room cleaning was carried out at the request, meals are provided (recommendation is to add some fruits to the menu)
The hotel staff is friendly, they will always help with advice, especially Olga Alexandrovna. The nature of Abkhazia is simply magical: the turquoise sea, mountains, flowering plants are simply pleasing to the eye... All the sights are within walking distance: the waterfall, the cell of the Apostle Simon Kananita, the Anakopian fortress, caves, Stalin's cottage, etc. In general, the rest was a success, we were satisfied.

We are resting now - July 2021. The location of the hotel is very good. Nearby are the sea and the sights of New Athos. This is probably the end of all the wonderful things. The hotel staff does not bother anyone with their attention. They don't even enter the rooms, they hardly respond to requests. The food is like in a hospital - tasteless, odorless, salt-free. I'm not saying anything about a variety of food at all. There is no choice. Therefore, we go to eat in local cafes, they are very tasty. I recommend the cafe opposite the hotel - eucalyptus by Daura. Other cafes are also not bad. The sea and the beach are much better than in Crimea. The very nature of New Athos is simply wonderful, captivating with its beauty. The people are hospitable, they will always help and answer any questions. The second building of the Rodina Hotel is located in a beautiful location, our room overlooks the mountain river, mountains and an open view of the Novoafonsky Monastery.

We rested at this hotel for the May holidays in the 21st year, everything was just wonderful, so in the 22nd year other hotels for the same holidays were not even considered and it is a pity. This year, the owners of the hotel hired an incomprehensible female receptionist, it feels like we got into a children's camp or into her personal home. Absolutely everything is forbidden, once again to go to the toilet on the ground floor, and you need to ask her permission. Why the toilet was closed this year is not clear at all. Where should people who came to the pool from the first building go in need ? There is a separate topic about nutrition. That's how I came to the country of Abkhazia and wanted to eat at least a meal rich in spices, but in the end I got diet number 5. (although it was said that in the first building they were fed a completely different food).On the third day of our stay, our entire company of 6 people stopped going to the dining room. The pool is cold, out of the declared 25 degrees there was a maximum of 21. Not only did the weather fail, but also Madame pioneer spoiled the attitude of many. The only plus is the rooms with a view of the river and the monastery.

The Rodina Hotel has the largest private territory, on which there are 2 buildings with swimming pools.
The hotel has a good Internet site where you can get acquainted with prices, view photos, find out the cost and availability of rooms.
The hotel is very conveniently located.
Within walking distance there is
a beach, shops, a market, a pharmacy and all the sights of the city of New Athos:
- Simon Cananite Church and Grotto,
- the male Simono-Kananite Monastery ,
- man-made waterfall,
- cottages of Stalin and Khrushchev,
- caves,
- Seaside Park.
The disadvantages include:
- there is no possibility to choose a hotel stay without meals,
- poor Wi-Fi connection.
The staff is friendly.
There is a parking lot for cars.
