The hotel is very welcoming 👍
The staff is helpful and courteous 😊
Administrators: Suleiman, Hussein, Ahmed, Emir thank you for the great mood and service
The breakfasts are simple but good: excellent coffee, always fresh bread, tea can be drunk at any time - very soulful🫶
There is a terrace upstairs where you can sit and relax.
There are problems with the numbers, but everything is being solved.
Cleaning is very good, always in order 👍
It takes 10 minutes up from the hotel and you are already at the tram and the entrance to the Grand Bazaar
There are also inexpensive cafes and shops nearby.
Everything is great for a budget hotel.
One of the advantages is the location. Within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar and other iconic places of Istanbul, beautiful views from the roof terrace. Everything was working in the room. Among the disadvantages are rather meager monotonous breakfasts, the lack of kettles in the rooms (although they are in the hotel photo), cardboard walls with excellent audibility of the neighbors' private lives and constant noise on the street. If you take a room with a view of the courtyard, the view will be quite dull. The Wi-Fi was constantly missing.
The hotel is not bad for its value. It is located in an area where there are many shops and shoe manufacturing. But this is rather not a minus, but a special flavor of Istanbul and I liked it. It's very noisy at night. The main attractions are close. The Grand Bazaar is 10 minutes away, Sultanahmet Square is 15-20 minutes on foot. In the room (we lived in a Standard one)it's clean, but the lock on the door closes very badly, you need to adapt to it. Breakfast is standard for 3 people: coffee, tea, bread, butter, jams, boiled eggs, sausages, sausage, cheese, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, oranges, cereals. There is water in the boiler in the dining room, but it is not allowed to pour into bottles and take them to the room. The reception staff is Russian-speaking, they will prompt and help if necessary. You can also book a tour, taxi or change money here. In general, it's not bad, but I wouldn't go to the May hotel again on purpose.
