My stay at the Hotel was excellent. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed. The hotel is located next to the beach, which makes it an ideal place to relax. The staff was attentive and friendly. The breakfast was varied and delicious. The pool, fitness center and spa provided excellent opportunities for relaxation and sports activities. The free Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. Sunny Beach Hotel is a place where I will be happy to return and recommend to everyone.

We bought vouchers from July 18 to 28, 2024. We went earlier in 2017 - this is the earth and the sky. Now the area is in disrepair, not well maintained. The rooms stink of damp and mold. Moreover, the beach no longer belongs to the recreation area. Locals are constantly there - they litter on the beach, enter the area freely and wander around. You can only go to the beach early in the morning or late at night because of the location. They are everywhere! They put up tents, umbrellas. They eat and litter all day long. Then they wash themselves in a faucet, which is located on the territory of the zone and nearby they store garbage. In the morning, the varons carry this garbage. Umbrellas on the beach are all dilapidated, they are falling down - reeds are everywhere, you can hurt your feet. Sun beds are paid for us - 150 som / day. There is a swimming pool with hot spring water on site. It is also paid. Locals buy a one-time bracelet and wash there all day. The food is disgusting and not tasty - every evening you have to order the menu for the next day. And the waiters always bring not what you order - they get confused. The rooms are not cleaned, bed linen is not changed, towels too - you have to run and look for maids. They say at the reception desk that they will bring it now and it will last until the departure. The TV was not working in my room, I went to the recessin several times and made an application - it was useless. That's how the TV doesn't work. I will never come here again! The rest was not a success, the money went down the drain. And there is nothing to wish for on I.Kul anymore - after the decree of the President of Kazakhstan, all recreation areas should be allowed free of charge to local residents. There are a lot of locals - "there's no place to spit", they mess up the water, it's dirty. You can swim only in the morning.

Beautiful territory, a hotel with rooms and cottages (2 types: economy and luxury townhouse). The tanuhouses are excellent, well renovated, fully equipped, cleaning every 3 days. The room is not particularly clean (cobwebs in the corners, dead insects, apparently there is no general standard of cleaning), but if you turn to the maids, they will do what they can, very responsive and diligent girls. There is a buffet shop on site and not a bad souvenir shop. The road from the highway is not very good. With food. The food is average, a lot of fatty dishes, what is with minced meat is not very tasty (cheap meat apparently). The baking is great. In general, we did not stay hungry. There are 2 cafes on site. In the cafe by the beach you can order kebabs, fries. The hotel staff is friendly enough to resolve any issues as far as possible. There are no promised water activities (jet skis, motorboat). There are a lot of locals on the territory and on the beach, especially on weekends. At the same time, everyone is friendly enough, there was enough space for everyone, the beach is clean. There are excursions, but not in the format of an excursion, you are accompanied to the mountains. At the same time, it's worth a trip, very beautiful nature, transport designed for the mountains. The overall impression of the holiday is good. The service is like something transitional from a Soviet boarding house to a hotel. There are no common standards, no trained staff (but they try their best).

Friends, I'm sorry, but this is just a cry from the soul! The hotel was very unpleasantly surprised from the first step! The only plus is a great townhouse! Everything else is below the baseboard. The staff is absolutely not competent in anything. There is no wifi in principle. The service in the dining room (it cannot be called a restaurant) is super slow, since the management decided to save on staff and the guys simply did not have time to bring it in time - the dishes were delivered cold! The lock in the townhouse was broken! For some reason, the room was washed at 1900, although the check-in time was 1400. They just forgot to turn on the hot water and were very surprised to find out that we wanted to take a warm shower! But our biggest surprise was expected further: absolutely EVERYTHING in Marco Polo was paid for - parking, pool, deck chairs, etc., it is very strange that they did not take money for the air yet!!! And the cherry on the cake is the way to the hotel!!!! It's just a path to hell - 16 km over such potholes, which can only be found in the craters of the Moon!!!

A very nice hotel, a beautiful beach with wooden mushrooms from the sun, a beautiful and very well maintained territory. Unfortunately, hoteliers in Issyk—Kul were obliged to open private beaches for all local residents. This is, of course, a disaster for business — buses arrive with loads of strange people with pots, samovars, and groceries. They cook food on bonfires right in front of the noses of those who paid a lot of money to admire the pearl of Kyrgyzstan in good conditions. The services cannot physically cope with the influx of uncultured and leaving mountains of garbage behind unknown people. Unfortunately, this will scare away tourists. And Marco Polo is no exception. We could be on the beach until 11-12 o'clock. After that, the hordes came and it became unrealistic to rest. I hope for the prudence of the authorities and the repeal of the strange law. After all, there are a lot of urban beaches that just need to be put in order and kept clean.

let's start with how we were accepted. Welcome, leave the car behind the fence. And this is with the promised parking. Of course, I had to swear, because they promised parking inside - as a result, parking inside suddenly became paid. Okay, we had a fight, parked. Let's move on... They settled in. The taxi numbers are cheap, tiny and some of them are smelly to the point of nausea. No swearing this time - the number was changed. In the evening, another "charm" with the rooms was waiting for us - the absence of even minimal noise insulation... I could hear everything... Small children howling in the next building?!!a dog!!?... So, next .... Nutrition.... Here are some mats.... There is no meat, complete absence, there is a chicken, for 5 days of rest, maybe a chicken leg in total. There's a lot of bread, by the way, it's delicious. The food sucks, just like the service. As a result, after a wonderful diet, we all caught an intestinal infection... Let's go further - there is a pool with silicon water.... It's paid. And it's just a monstrous tank of baby urine. It's not silicon, it's urine therapy. A small pool full of children and adults with a horribly swollen plastic bottom. One of the advantages is that the water in the pool is warm))) Finally, we reached the beach... Sand, umbrellas, an excellent entrance to the water, especially for those traveling with children. There are deck chairs, a nice pier. There are two baths on the pier. It would seem like a miracle! But, you can use all this only early in the morning. Because locals come to the beach at lunch... And finding a place on the beach, as well as sun loungers, is sooo problematic. But even if you find it, swimming in the lake will no longer be a thrill... The water is more like a human broth. When asked about the presence of local residents, the administration referred to the law that all beaches are shared from July 1, 2022. But it seems to me that it's just the earnings of the hotel. As a result, on the territory of the hotel, not only on the beach, the locals, most often drunk, shun until very late at night. Therefore, you should not count on walking under the moon.... That's basically all) decide whether you should go there. Yes, by the way, there are very good VIP houses and just houses, we didn't get them. At first, I was upset, but when I visited the beach and the pool, I was glad that I did not give twice as much money for a VIP house where they feed in the common dining room and bathe with everything on the same beach and in the pool)

Friends, if you are used to more or less decent service, then this is not your case. The 4.3 rating is definitely very high. Out of 10, probably the norm, but no more. Out of five, I would put 3 with tension!
Now to the details: an unkempt territory, bulls on the beach, for some reason sun beds, parking, and a swimming pool turned out to be paid. Meals are served for a long time, everything is carried cold. The staff everywhere is not just slow - it does not work. The maid never came to receive our townhouse. The lady at the reception was SO busy talking that she didn't even get up from the couch to get the room keys. It feels like the idea of the hotel was not bad - but everything is going to total ruin. Absolutely zero management, incompetent staff in anything. To be honest, I do not advise Russians to go to this hotel - you will just throw away the money! We had such a level of service in the 1990s.

I would like to express my gratitude to the management and staff of the hotel. The only place on the ENTIRE coast where a wheelchair user can be accepted, moreover, a ramp was specially welded into a bungalow, this is a super👍 The territory is huge, well-groomed, very green, the beach is clean and without fuss, a huge and convenient pier, the water is clean! A big plus (I think) which is located away from busy places, so there are no outsiders. A great place for a family vacation! 🤗🤗🤗

Resting on the southern shore of our beautiful lake Issyk-Kul, we decided to stay at the Marco Polo boarding house for a couple of days. Apart from being a fastidious tourist, I can say that we definitely did not like it here. Initially, the well-groomed, beautiful territory catches the eye, BUT this is where all the advantages of this boarding house end. Dirty rooms, dirty pool, and disgusting food. Despite the fact that there is no cafe on the territory. That's all this boarding house will be remembered for. Come back here again? Definitely not. 😤

I didn't like it:
1. Dirty and shabby room (for $ 193 per night). There is no brush in the toilet, no soap, sockets pulled out of the walls, broken corners of the walls, dirty windows, broken mosquito nets, cobwebs all around. The baskets from the toilets have not been taken out once in three days.
2. Mediocre cuisine: microportions, no choice, very far from the national cuisine (the chefs went to work in Russia, and here the cook from Sochi cooks), not always fresh food. It resembles a low-grade dining room.
3. The invasion of the local population on the territory and the beach. Why do residents pay a lot of money if they can't stay on their own beach?
4. There is no wifi. The administration reported that there is a trial with the mobile operator.
5. There is no billiards, sauna, swimming pool, no water activities, motorcycle rides and everything else that used to be.
6. Kitchen workers are constantly yelling obscenities at each other. The administration is not responding.

There is a large selection of dishes, the cuisine is different and Eastern and European to choose from. Special thanks, of course, to the chefs of the restaurant, they cook very tasty. Among the disadvantages: the rooms are distinguished by their simplicity, you get into Soviet times. There are no elementary shelves in the closet, only hangers. There were frequent problems with water, weak pressure, or sometimes there was simply no water. Towels are given only large ones, not for the face. Of the free funds offered, there will be only soap, etc. paper. Everything is compensated by the beauty of Issyk-Kul. The lake, the nature, the mountains are very beautiful, you need to see and visit here.

A kind of oasis on the south coast. I was very pleased with my landscaping and service level. A beautiful place with rooms for different levels of customer solvency. Paved paths, a large area ennobled by landscaping and a huge number of plants and flowers, the exterior of townhouses and luxury houses pleases the eye, the coast and pier pacify, a large number of therapeutic and preventive procedures, services and excursions, helpful and smiling staff ! It's a beautiful place. We rested in the cottages of the first line. Excellent gazebos, in the evening we sat, played, drank. They are fed for slaughter and, what pleases, dishes of Central Asian cuisine: manti, lagman. I don't want any cafes and restaurants, just drinks for the evening. The only disadvantage is to travel far. But it's worth it.

Review 2019: Arriving exactly a year later, we were faced with completely inadequate service, a mess on the beach and extremely mediocre food. It's sad that we managed to ruin everything so much in a year. Only the greenery and the lake itself did not disappoint.
Review 2018. Very green area. The beach is nearby. You don't have to go far, as happens in some boarding houses. Very friendly staff! Apparently, due to the fact that the hotel is located on the southern, less busy shore of the lake, there are relatively few people. For those who love peace and relative solitude, it's just right. I take off one star for the depressing quality of the "last mile" - the road from the highway to the hotel itself. This is a dead primer and it is not very pleasant for ordinary cars.
P.S. And try not to choose house 8-4 for settlement :-)

This hotel has broken all the records of my disappointment about the holiday. I've been to cheaper and more expensive ones, but the price and quality have never happened anywhere else. From good to bad:
The Territory. It is really green and diverse. However, the more expensive the room, the more well-groomed the area around it will be. It cannot be called a walking area, because it is only the environment of your rooms, there is no place to walk. And the irrigation equipment is broken and stuck anywhere, so most likely you will not get into the room dry, you will be doused on the tracks. In some places, the smell is extremely unpleasant, read about the rooms.
Beach. The sand is fine and pleasant. The entrance is shallow, so that in calm times the water is clean. The truth is dirty, cleaning is mediocre and rare, in the morning there are full bins all around.
Rooms. Initially, they were made well (Semi-luxury), but everywhere there is a persistent (strong) stench from the sewer. As the "master" said, there are no spare parts and in general everything needs to be disassembled, so we can't help in any way. The walls are streaked and cobwebbed, the corpses of mosquitoes. Cleaning of only the visible part is extremely poor. It's very dirty. Sockets, switches and other things are knocked out of the slots or do not work. TV shows 2-3 channels with interference. And this is in the semi-suites! We had three of them.
Kitchen. I would like to change the chefs. If we personally did not have any big complaints about the serving guys, then the food is extremely unpleasant in appearance (salads are stupidly mashed components), average in my opinion, the taste properties of the food leaves hopes for the best. The quality and quantity of which directly affects where you are settled, this was confirmed to us by one of the employees. The portions are small. Desserts and everything that is possible for an additional fee. The pastry chef is not bad (but these are separate purchases).
Administration. He never knows anything. It is better to solve requests about the number immediately and wait, or approach the service people directly. Applications in the administration were not considered alone. In case of conflicts, the cashier shouts "I shouldn't have come then", apparently there is no stress resistance. For some reason, the payment for 5 days ended and they tried to throw us out after 4 days, without any plus or minus days. Only after they had written everything to them from the checks, they admitted that they had made a mistake. (a couple of hours to argue). There were foreigners, I had to help them with translation, because no one knows the languages.
Other. Due to the remoteness and lack of competitors nearby, even shops, everything on the territory is very expensive or missing. The cafes are still tasteless. THERE IS NO DRINKING WATER! You need to buy it or knock it into your containers through waiters. The rooms are warm from springs with a bunch of chemical elements. There was no tea even in the store (why tea sets were in the rooms then is not clear). Wi-Fi catches on the edge of the beach and in the administration. But you need to enter the IP manually, so the router is not able to give addresses to the above devices (connection takes 15 minutes, but not always). DNS should be set to Google immediately, because the local will not open many sites.
On weekends, it's full of horror, because of the access to the territory for a fee, so many people come that there are no places even in the sand on the beach, but there were glasses. A swimming pool and other on-site facilities are also available for a fee.
I would also like to say about the road, from the highway to the hotel 18km, on gravel without lighting. They do not want to go there by car or it is very expensive, it will not be easy for hitchhikers there. After all, calling a taxi for the price of 4K soms (the driver said we found), you can only call the hotel through the administrators for 6K soms. We did not see any control of those who climbed over the fence, although there was security. There is no entertainment, a banana and a pill appeared for one day.
We highly do not recommend it.
