I had to get off at the first stop after Almaty and return back. It was night. The town is quiet and peaceful, the railway station is warm. I waited there for 2 and a half hours for the fast talgo train. Cons I really wanted to buy something, but there were no shops at the station.
The staff at the Otar Railway Station are rude, always unhappy, they don't want to answer (like leave me alone), and there's also a problem with the toilet, it's far away and it's scary to walk in the dark, and it's dirty
The station is clean, small, the platform is also clean, there are bins. The outdoor toilet is certainly a fire, well, at least not in the bushes. Although it's definitely nicer in the bushes. I did not see kiosks with mineral water and doshik, one store, possibly around the clock, was noticed. Otar is convenient for those who go to Bishkek, so as not to take the insanely unjustifiably expensive dirty antediluvian Bishkek-Samara train, it is only 100 km to the border, to meet and go by car. By the way, there are no taxis in the Flock at the station. At night, I put my parents on a train and drove two of the people who arrived to the center of the Flock, as they did not find a taxi.
It's hard to even call it a train station))). The station is from the 90s. The toilet is generally a problem... If you want, you won't find it, but if you find it, you won't go in. Ha-ha.
I was at this station three times, on May 20, 1973, May 3, 1974 and August 18, 1978. Apart from the soldiers of the local garrison, there was almost nothing and no one here... 🤷♂️
There is nothing, it feels like I have fallen into the past. The only thing that pleased me was the dining room opposite the station, the food is delicious. Yes, there is also a toilet, no, not so much a toilet as a dump. It's just tin.
The station is like a station, the cashier is really kind of nervous, she is not a Reference, but there is no reference window at the station) in general, something like that. But the station chief is adequate
