To build a copy next to the original is a complete stupidity of the authorities. The original chimes are one of the symbols of Tashkent, the capital. Why was it necessary to build this replica on the scale of the original and next to it? Instead of destroying a park of more than two hundred-century-old trees, it would be better to plant the same park nearby, it could be understood. And so, these second chimes are for nothing, except for a monument to a mediocre solution
One of the symbols of the city of Tashkent are the chimes towers. There are two towers, they are like twin brothers, one in one look like each other, a single architectural ensemble has turned out and the residents of Tashkent lovingly call it "Tashkent Chimes" Every quarter of an hour they greet their citizens with crimson bells. But I would like to tell you about the history of the first chimes, which were installed on a tower specially built for them, and rang on May 9, 1947. The clock itself arrived in Tashkent from East Prussia, where it was displayed on the town hall, but during the hostilities the town hall was seriously damaged, and the clock was removed, repaired and presented to the sergeant who saved it and was a good watchmaker. His name was A.Eisenstein and he was originally from Tashkent. So the first trophy chimes appeared in Tashkent, and the second ones decorated the square, quite recently, for the 2200th anniversary of Tashkent.
