Wars were being torn down, the Bolsheviks were rebuilding, but all the same, the integrity of the ensemble was preserved by the professional residents of Grodno. It is a very integral architectural monument. And the throne room, ceilings, and layout of the palace have been preserved inside. The palace is a large casket, a national treasure of Grodno and, in general, the Republic of Belarus. Two in one, as an art and historical museum is currently located here. An amazing picture of Rogneda, the ancestor of our Gorislavich Family.
Please also pay attention to the paintings by Malevich and Goncharova. How did they not get taken to Moscow in Soviet times? One can only wonder! Real diamonds from any museum! It's great that they are now decorating Grodno!!
Thanks to all the curators and employees of this museum, who faithfully preserve the Culture of our common country for us and the next generations of Russian Belarusians: Belarusians, Ukrainians and Russians. They keep these riches for our children and grandchildren. Low bow!!

I liked the exposition of the New Castle Museum and was pleased with its wide range. An audio guide was used to view the exhibitions. The museum has an observation deck with a great view of the Old Castle and the Neman River. I recommend you to visit.

An interesting museum, especially liked the collection of paintings (Malevich, Levitan!). The only thing that spoiled the impression was the attitude of the employee at the checkout. She did not want to sell a pension card to her mother using a social card (in Moscow, by the way, this is an official document, there are no others on hand). And it would be fine, but the woman wasn't saying very nice things.: "Only Muscovites have such problems... how should I put it culturally.. they're coming, etc." — in general, she wanted to say "let's go"! This is the first time I have encountered such an attitude in Belarus, and it is very disappointing. I was sure that the country would be the last place where I would hear something like that addressed to me. I recommend the museum, but I would advise the staff to think about it! I'm going with a positive attitude to the country I love, and I try to give positivity to everyone around me and show respect. But I would also like to receive it from others, especially in the service sector!

The territory of the museum and the expositions themselves are mandatory for everyone who has come to this wonderful city. But there is one thing - please ask the museum administration to add the Russian language to the description of all objects!!! After all, there are a lot of tourists from Russia and it is more convenient to perceive information in Russian too.

The new castle impresses with its impressive appearance! You understand that the area was not chosen for him by chance — such a strategic location is amazing. 🌄
Although the exposition at the exhibition is quite standard and resembles other castle exhibitions, it still deserves attention. Considering the price tag of the ticket, I would definitely recommend visiting it. This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in history and enjoy the majestic views!

We arrived in Grodno for a day, on September 25, 2024
Because there was very little time, there was a choice between the old castle and the new one, but the description of the new palace interested us more.
There are a number of interesting works about chivalry.
But the most impressive thing was the conversation between two employees of the museum, who were not embarrassed by the visitors (about ten people, including us).
On the floor, passing further into the Soviet era, two employees in literate Russian loudly debated on the topic of describing objects and paintings on it. And one of them tried to explain to the second that this was a competent step. The other one denied everything (in Russian, please note) and said that the Russians had gone to them, and as soon as the restrictions were lifted, they would forget their land. And whatever her will, everything in the museum would be only in the Belarusian language. I clearly remember the phrase: "When a Belarusian comes up to me and asks why there is no Russian in the description of the paintings, I tell him that we have 2 official languages in our country and he must know his native language. And if a Russian approaches me, I send him to Paris, to the Louvre, to dictate my terms there." Actually, starting at 12 o'clock and until the end of the day, we just waited for the train to go on. Everything in the city, after their dialogue, caused only 2 associations - Unreasonably expensive, unfriendly. The mood was saved only by a cool uncle who played outside and sang. In everything close to my heart, I have been almost everywhere, and everything responds to my heart, except Grodno. And I really don't want to do it a second time.
If we ignore the situation, there are more impressive places in the city than this museum. The time spent is not worth it.

The castle building is interesting.
It is located in the center at the hub of historical sites.
But...
the exposition is built according to yesterday's standards. It is not interesting in terms of sequence.
Some exhibits contradict the historical sequence by dates - it seems that there are different authors of the exposition in each hall.
The halls of the animal world and Animals of Belarus are well represented.
But....
If there is an audio guide system when buying a ticket, the staff does not offer to use an additional service, the institution loses obvious profit.
Team tours are not organized.
When buying tickets, payment by phone does not work, only a physical card.
There are few souvenirs.
There is no sale of water and coffee

The exposition is quite chaotic, between the halls with antique weapons there suddenly turns out to be a hall with stuffed animals. The exhibits are very poorly signed, only in the Belarusian language. Given the number of Russian tourists, the lack of duplication in Russian is surprising, to be honest. There are some rude people among the staff, personally, one caretaker began to literally kick me out of the hall in a very rude tone just because I stopped for a couple of minutes to answer (silently!) to a text message on your phone. Allegedly, the fact that I was standing still was disturbing other visitors. That is, it is boring, and also the boorish attitude of the staff, I do not recommend visiting.

Every last Tuesday of the month, visiting the museum is free (a very good initiative). Having visited the museum of the Old and New Castle, I can say. I liked the Old Castle better. But that's just my opinion. The new castle is interesting in its own way. I liked the rooms with exhibits of animals. In general, you can safely go on excursions!!!

Visiting the Old and New castles is a mandatory part of the program of acquaintance with the city of Grodno. I liked the old castle, which I wrote about in the review. But I liked the New Castle even more. This is a great journey into the world of history, art, and nature of Belarus. The most magnificent expositions and specimens in the collection of the museum.
