My mother flew to me yesterday, met her in Osh, this is her first time in Kyrgyzstan. And the first place I invited her was NAVAT.
There were a lot of people on the terrace, almost no one on the ground floor of the building, and no one at all on the second floor. There were about 10 identical tables along the windows, about 15 tables in the center, everything was free. We decided to stay on the empty second floor and chose a table by the window. We made an order, food was brought to us. We are in the process, already sitting and eating the first course.
A waiter comes up to us and asks us to move to another table, as this one turned out to be booked. We moved in silence.
After the meal, they asked for the bill to go and catch the sunset on the Sulaiman observation mountain. They didn't carry the bill for 15 minutes, went to pay for it themselves, said the computer wasn't working, waited another 10 minutes next to the computer for us to be counted manually.
No one came to the table from which we were asked to leave. Although there are 9 other identical tables along the window in the hall, we were asked to move during the time when we were already eating pilaf. Long wait for the bill. We were late for the sunset. But Mount Sulaiman was beautiful even with the missed sunset.
NAVAT, which, as it seemed to me, should reflect oriental hospitality, left me and my mother with a sad aftertaste of tactless service.
