A great new museum. A delightful hall of antiquities, the results of excavations at the Bayhrrein fortress and ancient burials of the second millennium BC are on display. It's not worth spending time on the rest of the halls for my taste, the level of the local history museum. Take a walk, it's beautiful around
The museum provides a visit according to the route, so that you have the opportunity to view the exhibits and explore the history of Bahrain in chronological order. In the main hall, the floor covering is represented by a map of the Island. In the same hall and in the two next door there are paintings and exhibitions by contemporary authors. At the beginning of the route there is an exit to the street, where you can admire the view of the National Theater and the backwater. There is a cafe with a terrace in the backyard, where you can enjoy a peaceful environment.
Tested and recommended. Opened in December 1988, it is the oldest museum in the whole country and in the Persian Gulf. It presents the historical, cultural and natural heritage of the people of Bahrain, introduces folk traditions.
It houses the richest exhibition of ancient archaeological artifacts in the whole country. The most valuable exhibit of the museum is a collection of old manuscripts of the Koran. Three halls dedicated to the archaeology and ancient civilization of Dilmun, the culture and lifestyle of the pre-industrial era of Bahrain, natural history, and samples of flora and fauna from all over the country are available for visiting.
A great museum. Good design of the exposition. The guide tells a very interesting story about the history of Bahrain. In the courtyard of the museum, which is also beautifully decorated, there is a monument to pearl miners.
A very interesting and diverse exposition. Information about the history of Bahrain, national traditions and modernity is clearly presented. I particularly liked the halls dedicated to the history of education and statehood, and the manuscripts presented. It was interesting to learn about the Pope's visit to Bahrain. But the most amazing thing was the exposition on the 1st floor dedicated to the exploration of the world ocean by one of the Arab princes.
Entrance tickets are paid exclusively by bank cards. Since Russian cards are not accepted for payment due to sanctions, Russians are allowed into the museum for free.
The museum's cafe makes excellent coffee and serves a magnificent cake made of grated pistachios and rose petals.
A great museum! Everything has been told since ancient times. I recommend you to visit. The cost is 1.1 bhd, which also disposes)
You can also buy the street smart bahrain book in the museum store, an excellent paper guide to Bahrain.
On the first day I visited the museum, took a book and walked the rest of the time through significant and beautiful places)
And be sure to go to the cafe at the end, you can see a lot of beautiful things
A good museum by the standards of Arab countries, I liked it much more than the National Museum of Qatar. Good wax figures of merchants and artisans of the pre-Oil era, various artifacts of old times, all kinds of women's abayas and niqabs.
It is a very worthy museum for a small young island state! Everything that archaeologists have found so far is presented in the museum. The work continues. There is a collection of ancient seals - I have not seen them anywhere before. It gives an idea of how sometimes it is not easy to create a state without a national genotype, from an alloy of nomadic peoples and a local small detachment of aboriginal Arabs.
I would never have gone to this country specifically in my life, and even more so to a museum, but it turned out to be quite interesting to learn and see some things that I had not previously known about. I recommend stopping by to see if you are in Bahrain.
An absolutely amazing museum. This place is a must-visit. The permanent exhibition tells about the different sides of the life of this small but absolutely amazing country.
A great opportunity to get to know the culture of Bahrain. All inscriptions are duplicated in English, detailed information is on the plates. I recommend you to visit
