It's an amazing place! For children, there are simply unique and indescribable sensations - there are always turtles, the place is well-fed, seaweed is sold locally ("beachboys"), for inexpensive, you need to bargain right away (500 rupees is an acceptable price for 2024). Nearby there are reefs with marine life, small sharks. In general, a great place to relax!!!
The most beautiful and peaceful beaches of Sri Lanka are here. We stayed at a hotel with direct access to turtle beach. Awesome bonus))) huge, always at the shore, waiting for food
I have already vacationed 3 times at the Hikka Tranz Cinnamon Hotel, on the ocean with turtles! An excellent hotel, near which 4-5 turtles swim regularly. They are fed algae. There is a beach nearby, you can swim, although almost everywhere on the coast of Sri Lanka there are huge waves and there is no way to enter the ocean.
I was there with my daughter. It's great, the turtles swim up close, you can pet and feed them. Locals walk along the beach and offer to buy a bag of seaweed from them to feed the turtles. Bargain with them, otherwise they raise the price. And make sure that when the child comes out of the water, this merchant does not take the package from the child.
An amazing place on the shore is the beach, where you can see and even feed the turtles firsthand. It's an exciting sight! Turtles in the wild can be photographed and even gently stroked.
It 's an amazing place. When I came to the beach, I saw 5 huge turtles , you walk among them , you can feed them with algae. I was very impressed that the turtles swim like tame ones to eat on the beach.
I liked the fact that there were actually three practically tame turtles. And I liked even more that the locals keep an eye on the tourists and don't let them offend these turtles. The visit is absolutely free of charge. We fed the chipmunks there. The turtles were too crowded with tourists and I didn't want to stand in line to give them a blade of grass (algae). The turtles are huge))
It's a cool place. Not only children are happy and surprised, but also adults.
There, special people raise turtles and periodically release them into the sea under the show program.
The water is not as clear as in the photo. There are few turtles, many people. But in general it is unusual. Huge turtles, however, are fed by tourists and this grass is no longer interesting to them.
Swims up to 6 large turtles .
They are fed algae . The locals round the corner collect and sell for $ 1 .
They are not afraid of people
They swim nearby .
A little further on the shore is a turtle farm (egg laying)
They are guarded , and when they are ready , they are released into the sea . ,
Attraction.
Awesome You can swim safely without a wave. Occasionally healthy turtles up to 1m in diameter swim nearby. You can catch up and touch it, even though you're not supposed to.
It's beautiful, guys! They sell sea cabbage at the entrance to the beach, and you can feed the turtles. 4-6 pieces are floating around. The emotions are indescribable
There are so many turtles there. They are given to feed them, jostle (be careful of the very hard shell) and float around you. It's worth going to see and swim with them.
An excellent place for zoological observations , all the inhabitants of the reefs can be observed by going knee-deep into the ocean. Reef sharks, parrot fish, turtles up to a meter in length and more are swimming around you.......BEAUTY, SWEETNESS, ETC.
A fabulous place. It is very good to walk through the local alleys and shops. Sit in shady cafes. The cost is overstated everywhere, of course, but it must be borne in mind that this is a tourist place!
Great view, the locals don't bother us, we were at the end of May, it's not hot, there is a little rain, well, as a historical place, just a set-off and Portugal and Holland and England all left their mark
It's a very interesting place. On an ordinary beach, you can freely feed the sea turtles that swim to the shore, apparently to communicate with the people. A package of algae can be bought from the locals, who make sure that tourists do not offend marine life. (Some people try to climb on horseback, which, of course, is not worth doing.)
There are almost no waves, it is quite shallow. There are always huge turtles that you can feed, they are not afraid of people.
There are disadvantages, there are no sun beds, there is practically no place to lie down either (only under coke palms....coconuts are falling...)
And the water here is not clean
The hotel is cool near the turtles. There are 7-10 turtles swimming there, cool big ones! They are being fed. The main thing is to choose the right time, the sutra is eaten before lunch like)
Near the coral, fish, mini sharks))
It's an amazing place. I definitely recommend you to visit. The ocean views are simply fabulous. We were with my wife and both are still very impressed.
There is a coral reef near the shore, where there are many beautiful fish and turtles swim to the shore, they can be fed with algae. The algae is sold on the shore by enterprising locals. 100 meters from the shore (there is a depth of about 2 meters), you can swim with turtles and fish, even small sharks swim there (very small, up to 0.5 meters in length). But due to the presence of algae near the shore, the smell is not very good. It is necessary to have protective shoes so as not to step on sea urchins.
A small, cramped beach near the main highway. There is garbage, sellers of coconuts and turtle food, crowds of tourists and ... poor turtles who have become hostages of the attraction.
It probably makes sense to spend half an hour to have an idea...
An interesting historical place! But there are obvious problems with garbage collection. Of course, it's not clean where they clean, but where they don't litter, but there are clearly not enough trash cans!
A very pleasant place, big sea turtles hang out in the bay from morning to evening
Keep in mind that there are no showers nearby to flush out the salt water
Turtles are huge just!!! Leather 😹.
Almost tame. And you can collect algae yourself on the reef to the left, just be careful: there are a lot of sea urchins there
