A great place to visit with children or for lovers of rare railway equipment or just to spend time. The museum is located near the main entrance to the Brest Fortress, so you can combine visits to two sites in one day. The locomotives themselves are presented in a wide range. One of them is half covered with a transparent material so that you can see all its internal mechanisms - an interesting idea. The only thing I would like to get inside the cabin or wagons, but unfortunately it will only be possible in a couple of the whole variety, because the rest are closed and they can only be viewed from the outside. There is also an indoor pavilion on the territory, where models of railways with toy trains running on them are presented.
A great museum!A huge number of exhibits - steam locomotives, locomotives, wagons, special equipment.Everything is in excellent condition.Gorgeous interior exposure .The history of railway transport around the world.I recommend everyone to visit.
One of the best museums. Under the open sky. You can touch a lot with your hands and see it with your own eyes. Cool photos, wonderful exhibits. Great experiences and lots of fun. I definitely recommend you to visit.
A very cool open-air museum of railway equipment, from steam locomotives to diesel locomotives. Some exhibits have access. You can feel like a machinist of the legendary TE-3, or appreciate the gigantic size of the boiler of a steam locomotive. In addition, there are many exhibits of railway infrastructure, all those interested will not remain indifferent!
It's a good exposition. A good collection of railway equipment from the era of Great Civilization is deployed in a small area.
Of the disadvantages, the cabins of almost all locomotives used to be available, now only one.
I visited this museum 10 years after my last visit. There are a lot of new and interesting things. The rolling stock is all operational. They periodically participate in filming. The 5-year-old kid really enjoyed climbing everywhere. A very interesting museum of the Brest-Litovsk Railway has appeared with a mini Grand layout inside. Cafes, souvenirs, toilets.
Personally, I was impressed by the sections of the locomotive and diesel locomotive under glass.
The only drawbacks are the discrepancy between the installed plates, but this confusion, as I was explained, is due to the participation of rolling stock in filming.
I really liked it. There are a lot of different exhibits. Kind staff at the checkout. Everyone who loves railway themes and transport in principle - you will like it here.
I recommend you to visit!
A very nice and unusual museum. On some trains, you can climb inside. Very informative. The size of the old steam locomotives is impressive. The staff takes care of the safety of visitors and does not allow them to climb where they should not, which is important when visiting with children.
A gorgeous open-air museum. We were with the child and got a lot of impressions. In the pavilion there is a good cafe with delicious cakes ("Potatoes" as in childhood. Definitely worth a visit)
Everything that is written here eloquently is true. The museum is beautiful. There are no disadvantages. We were surprised by the souvenirs, very beautiful and thoughtful in the theme of the railway. It's a bit expensive for the scene, but it's worth it. There is definitely no such thing anywhere
I liked the open-air exhibition, it's fashionable to look at a lot of places in the cabin. There are enough different copies, there are information signs next to each locomotive. There is a place to eat and a toilet on the territory.
A great museum! We were with the child, he was delighted with the exhibits, especially the platform with the cannon! ))) We went around the whole thing, it was carried out simply, after a tour of the Citadel of the fortress, but it was worth it! A must-visit! I recommend it! 🇧🇾👍🏻
A great museum! A sufficient number of exhibits! In some cases, you can enter the driver's cabin. However, there are a lot of children there, as always)) but children are children)
There are a lot of railway equipment, but you can only get inside with a guide and not all diesel locomotives…
It is better to come on weekdays in the morning.
There is a delicious tube with boiled condensed milk in the cafe on site.. (although empty inside, there is enough condensed milk).
Different models of locomotives, all well-maintained, restored. In some cases, you can go inside the driver's cabin. There are also moving small models of trains, cranes, like a museum in Moscow at the Riga railway Station.
An outdoor museum. It's quite interesting. Some trains can be boarded. More precisely, into the cabs of the drivers. It will be interesting for children to climb, but it is not possible everywhere, you need to be more careful.
An interesting exposition, you can go up to some exhibits and sit in the driver's seat, there is a steam locomotive and a diesel locomotive in the section very informative.
The place is atmospheric and very informative. There are many exhibits that delight. It's a pity that 90% of the trains are closed. In general, if you are in Brest, the place is worthy of your attention.
The place is colorful, there are many copies. There are several comments: it's time to update the paint on the equipment, the layouts do not work in the museum, I would like more open expansions, it's more interesting for children inside.
My son (12 years old) I really liked it here. The place corresponds to the name: it is really a large museum of railway equipment. There is a cafe on site.
An interesting museum for children and adults! I would like to visit every steam locomotive and diesel locomotive, but only a few are open to the public. I recommend it for a visit!
A wonderful museum! We visited it ourselves, without an excursion. All information is available on the stands. My son was delighted with the opportunity to climb the exhibits.
Perfectly! I, the granddaughter of the locomotive engineer, who did not find my grandfather alive, visited his workplace - in the cabin of the locomotive! And also in the cabin of the locomotive! We are slowly moving towards closing the gestalt)) thanks to the museum for the most interesting exposition!!!
It is very interesting and informative, the only thing is that not all locomotives and trains and wagons can be entered and viewed!! And in general, my personal recommendation is to visit!!
An interesting exhibition in the open air and in the exhibition hall. It will be exciting for both children and adults. One of the disadvantages is that you can't get on trains.
It is very interesting and atmospheric to get around almost during the war years. Locomotives for all tastes
There is a cafe where you can eat . There are souvenirs
In May 2023, about 5 driver's cabins were available for visiting, now there are only two. Even the trolley was removed somewhere. It was only because of this museum that we came to Brest with a child, but in fact our expectations were not fulfilled. Locomotives are beautiful, of course, but children need an interactive experience.
Thank you for the wonderful museum. Our family really liked it. The 3-year-old child was delighted. I recommend visiting, I think you will not regret it.
There is not enough dynamics and activity for children. You can't go inside, except for a couple of exhibits. You can't even climb on some of them (there are signs hanging). They could have opened some wagons. Children are climbing everywhere anyway and in places it looks dangerous. How much joy children have when they can sit in the driver's cabin. They could have made some kind of interactive, they don't work for free.
The parking lot is small and gets clogged up already in the first hour after opening (thanks for having it at all and not having to pay). The cafe is so-so, not for lunch.
Our trains are the fastest trains in the world. A great museum. There are places to climb and things to see. It is disappointing that the plates are nailed with dowels to the platforms, and the rolling stock is rearranged and does not correspond, but those who are in the subject are not afraid
Not bad, you can visit with children while staying in Brest. At the same time, there are more exhibits and their variety in Baranovichi. A 5-year-old child liked a small railway with moving trains and an alarm system in the Brest Museum. After that, Baranovich hooked a little bit only with this.
I liked it, it's interesting, you can climb into some locomotives, climb inside, there is a working model of the railway - small trains run. I recommend
I really liked the tour! I was a 6th grade student. It was possible to take pictures near and inside the locomotive, diesel locomotive, in the car.
The tour was conducted by a junior researcher
Gaidai Sergey Vladimirovich. A professional in his field! I was able to tell you about steam locomotives and trains in an interesting and fascinating way. It is clear that the person is in his place!
An interesting museum in Brest! Required to visit. It is interesting with the tour, as many steam locomotives participated in the filming of various films and TV series.
You need to plan about 3 hours for a visit.
Parking is free.
A wonderful museum that will appeal to everyone who is interested in railways. There is a large collection of steam locomotives, diesel locomotives, electric locomotives and wagons representing different epochs of railway transport development. The exhibits are well restored and well maintained.
The staff's terrible attitude towards visitors. It is possible to order an additional one.an excursion, but no one offered or said anything about it.
There is an interactive railway, but it does not work.
There is a large parking lot.
A large selection of exhibits.
A great museum. Representatives of previous generations of trains. You can climb into some of them. There is a cafe on site and there is also a continuation in it
Very interesting. You can climb on some locomotives. Special bridges are attached to several of them. In one of the locomotives, you can visit the driver's cabin
The child was delighted, there are diesel locomotives that you can enter inside, there is a sign next to each train. There is a cafe inside the museum.
It would be interesting if you take a guide. It's so simple, you walk and look. And the price bites a little, you have to pay for the tour plus the price for tickets.
The museum is super!!!
All kinds of steam locomotives and other trolleys. One problem is Monday, Tuesday is a day off! In high season, you should work more!
A very good museum. The exhibits are beautiful and clean, it is clear that they are being cared for.
The only bad thing is that the museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday)))
Interesting, but! Only one steam locomotive was open for access inside. Some of the equipment has been rearranged and the description plates do not correspond to the exhibits. Another part of the exhibits is missing
