A modern huge museum with places to relax. An elegant air conditioning system, a good attitude towards visitors, all problems are solved immediately. And of course the exhibits. It is convenient to approach each exhibit, examine it from all sides, read the annotation if there is no guide nearby. I definitely advise you to visit
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is quite new. It has become a must-visit, since a few years ago the mummies and sarcophagi of two dozen of the most famous pharaohs were moved here. They lie in the basement (basement) tier, where special excursions are conducted. The pharaohs are well-attributed, the tablets with stories about their lives and deeds, ancestors and descendants are quite informative.
The main exposition of the museum is rather educational in nature and is devoted to the development of Egyptian civilization from primitive people to the Muslim period. It is better to visit the museum with a guide, because otherwise it is easy not to pay attention to many interesting little things among ancient tools, medical instruments from the time of the New Kingdom, Hellenic coins, Coptic jewelry or Turkish lamps.
The museum is located in a modern building with good air conditioning and an extensive cellar, where, looking ahead, local artists keep about 3 dozen mummies - allegedly their kings. By the way, you can't photograph a mummy- either it's harmful for them, or they're afraid that relatives will find out and take the mummy home. Well, as it is, there are few exhibits in the museum, although they are selected with love. It is obvious that all their material assets were taken out by the dexterous ancestors of modern European LGBT activists and defenders of other evil spirits. So there is something interesting to see, but not enough. Being in Cairo and not visiting this museum is like being at a wedding and not fighting. There is even a mega carpet, an ancient caliper and fragments of a man with a female breast of the 2nd size. (Maybe it was fashionable for them)
Even the Egyptians themselves do not know about the existence of this museum. The taxi driver at the airport looked perplexed when I asked to take him to the national Museum of Egyptian Civilization. This is a new large building, where the mummies of the pharaohs were transported from the Egyptian Museum. It is interesting to consider the mummies of people who lived several thousand years ago. It's worth going there just for that. Although the ticket is not cheap, but cash is accepted.
So far, few exhibits have been moved, the museum itself is large-scale, but it is better to wait until the relocation is completed. As it is, everything is fine, the conduits and the attached mulks.
This is my favorite museum in Cairo! The mummies of the Great Pharaohs are kept here! What else can I say.. It's worth coming here just for this! The museum itself and the territory are very beautiful and stylish, there is a lake nearby and a beautiful landscape opens up! Inside the museum there is one of my favorite cafes, there is very delicious coffee and croissants and generally pastries and food. Come here and drink coffee and enjoy the gorgeous view.. This is a favorite tradition.I recommend it!
Nice new museum. It represents the Egyptian culture of different eras: ancient Egyptian, Hellenistic, Roman, Arabic. In the basement there is an exhibition representing the mummies of all the most famous pharaohs of the New Kingdom
super! It's worth a visit! The mummies in the basement are real, everything else deserves attention too.The museum is still being expanded.there are cafes there, and the views from the garden are beautiful

Классно, современный музей, вид оттуда красивый. Внутри есть настоящие мумии, на цоколе, фоткать нельзя. Сверху просто экспонаты древности, там уже фоткать можно. Есть зал с текстилем.
I liked everything, it's better to go with a guide. There are many mummies on the lower floor. There is an exit from the hall to the street with a good view.
