There are no questions about the memorial and the museum's exposition - there are many questions for the guides and the administration!I visited Khatyn for the first time last year - without an excursion. I was very touched by the transition from a burning barn to a white room! The strongest psychological moment!
This year we came and got on an excursion - it's some kind of trash - it turns out that Belarusian cities were bombed, not Soviet ones, a feat of the Belarusian people, etc., etc. - there was never a mention of who committed tin and murder, who liberated and at what price - it was only about Belarusian losses, grief, as if There was no Soviet Union! 😡
This is very wrong! The museum administration needs to think about it!
I do not recommend going on a guided tour!
Specific and incorrect presentation of information
Unfortunately, the excursion to Khatyn disappointed me very much. I'll start with a good one. Huge Parking, toilets, cafes, attentive and cute girls in the administration, the museum is elegantly decorated, the huge territory of the complex makes an impression, but that's it. You will not find the phone number and opening hours of the museum on the Internet, the complex is open from 10 to 17, Monday is a day off - a friend who was there a week earlier sent me. The administration said that there are no available guides, but we can join the bus. Since there were many of us who wanted to join, we were given a guide. That's the end of the positive emotions!!! A young man, his name was Peter, conducted a tour of the museum without arousing any feelings other than indignation at the distortion of historical facts! After leaving the museum, I had to explain to the child that the land in Belarus was liberated from fascists by 1, 2.3 Belarusian Front and 1 Baltic Front with the help of Belarusian partisans, and not Belarusians themselves, heroically liberated their land from fascist invaders. On the street, on the territory of the complex, another surprise was waiting, Belarusians, it turns out, have won their independence!!!! I did not receive it due to the collapse of the USSR in 1991, but they won it!!! Well, he was finally finished off by saying that he CURSES those who only see the numbers stamped on the wall!!!! Very professional!!! It is a pity that so many non-professional guides work in such a place, it would be wonderful if Peter was explained that the name of the front was given in the direction, and not by the nationality of the fighters, and it would also be good to tighten up the modern history. I hope you have better luck with the guide.
We visited this iconic place. But the organization of the tour is very weak. The tour guide girl told practically nothing, only turned on interactive screens. A separate story about the tour on the street. There are no ads anywhere that this is an additional service and you still have to pay extra for it. It was very strange. The tour guide said goodbye to us and no ads, and then we saw her on the street and asked how so? Only then did she explain something to us.
