One visit to the Vatican Museum complex can only form a general impression, even if the most iconic exhibits have been known for a long time and you only want to "commune" with the originals. Anyway, impressions are "over the edge", and you can't linger in the halls. This is the same Lacoon of the I century BC, whose authenticity expert in 1504 was Michelangelo. The paintings of Michelangelo and Raphael attract the eye, but tourists cannot stop, and they also need to try not to fall, walking with their heads up. The unique collection of antiques is very impressive. If you visit the Vatican museums regularly, then in my opinion you will not leave every time without new impressions. Not only do you need to know this, you also need to see it.
The Vatican Museum is a whole complex of museums, magnificent halls, squares and gardens, especially a group tour leaves the impression of something beautiful, huge and incomprehensible, so you need to come back here (and more than once) and walk quietly without racing, sit, look and then you will really like it.
Very interesting expositions, paintings, tapestries, sculptures. I'll probably be happy to go again for a more detailed inspection.
During the tourist season, I recommend booking and buying tickets online in advance (so as not to stand in line) and using the audio guide.
The architecture, the interiors of the palace and the expositions themselves are worth seeing! It is impossible to write about everything in one short review. Tip - if you are going to visit museums on your own, be sure to read about the most famous exhibits in advance. Or a guide, but for a company of no more than 7 people!! Yes, I recommend buying tickets on the Vatican's website in advance!
Perhaps the best museum in Rome, with a large number of exhibits... Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and Raphael's stanzas are unforgettable.
I recommend it!
We were on an excursion to the Vatican on 09/17/19. We liked everything very much... We want to come another time to order a guide separately and calmly walk through all the Vatican museums, otherwise we were galloping with the group and the guide was unsuccessful...
I visited the Vatican museums without a guide (I was preparing before) and walked there for more than 6 hours! I am shocked by what I saw! There are just no words! It needs to be seen! Words cannot be explained! I visited St. Peter's Cathedral separately, climbed the dome! Such impressions! Delight and Stendhal syndrome!
Everything is fine, the organization of the flow of tourists is at a good level. There are a lot of tourists, although we were in winter, but you can see everything you like.
The advantages are to see the world's masterpieces with your own eyes. The minus is the crowds of people. I was on a group tour. Everyone was given receivers with one earphone. Roman's guide was interesting, but if someone from the group asked him a question, it was distracting. I won't go anymore😁
The museums themselves are impressive, but the crowds of tourists depress everything. I would like to take a look at the Vatican Library and its archives with at least one eye. The secret is sealed.
