I recently visited the Mongol Bar and was absolutely delighted! The atmosphere in the establishment is very cozy, with an unusual interior that creates an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. As for the kitchen, it's just something! All the dishes were prepared with love and attention to detail. I especially remember the Mongolian shish kebab, which was incredibly delicious, as well as the hearty side dishes that perfectly complement the dish.
Waiter Yang deserves special attention. He was very polite and attentive, always prompting with the choice of food and drinks, creating the feeling that he was sincerely interested in our comfort. And Tim, the hookah man, is just a magician! The hookah was made perfectly: soft, with a rich taste and without excessive strength — a real professional job.
Mongol Bar is a place where you want to come back again and again to enjoy not only excellent cuisine and hookah, but also excellent service. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place for a pleasant and relaxing evening!

I came here on the recommendation of friends for a good hookah. Overall, the place seemed overrated. 4 mostly thanks to the hostel girl who helped out with the Internet.
Like it:
1. City center, easy to reach
2. A selection of dishes, teas, hookahs - everything is in abundance
3. Music, interior
4. Service - when I suddenly ran out of Internet, the hotstes girl provided it to me by distributing it from her phone! And I even left my phone while I was doing business - it's cool and only thanks to this place I remember from the good side!
I didn't like it:
1 Hookah - the guys had to redo it twice, but alas, we did not have love - it did not go to me, despite the fact that the price tag is from 10,000
2. I ordered herbal tea - they brought me tea with herbs and syrup, as if diluted with jam. Guys, I don't eat sugar, but you didn't have a hint that it was there, in large quantities, you should warn customers about it
3. In the end, the waiter asked me - you have a deposit of 40,000 tons, but you spent only 12, can you order something before? There must have been a mistake ;) I definitely did not pay the deposit and was not aware of it, and that was the end of the dialogue. Do not scare visitors with such numbers, or still warn them in advance that you have a deposit ;)

One of my favorite places in Almaty. This institution is located at the intersection of Nazarbayev/Kurmangazy streets of the golden square, On the first floor of an apartment building. I have an apartment on the second floor of this house. I lived there before the earthquake.
The place itself is cozy and atmospheric, the interior.
The hookah is clear.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The food is delicious and satisfying.
By the way, the most beautiful girls of the city come to this institution, I do not know what "Mongol" attracts them))

It's a very pretentious place, expensive, the owners are probably not simple, cars park in three rows at night, occupying the entire turn lane, with exit for the stop line, and Bentleys and Rolls Royces...... Traffic cops don't touch this parking lot, and they don't punish anyone who is parked.... Never.....

We visited this institution on 02/23/24.
We are tourists in Almaty and decided to spend the last evening with a pleasant dinner and a smoky hookah. The choice fell on this institution.
They ordered a hookah, food and drinks, nothing foreshadowed trouble, but then suddenly a police raid descended on the institution, a violation of hookah smoking in the catering was established.
A hookah man ran up to our table and just snatched the hookah out of my hands, and in addition (not on purpose, of course) dropped my phone on the floor. Thank you for coming back later and apologizing.
After that, the police came up to us, talked to us for a long time and tried to fine us for smoking a hookah indoors. (I do not know the legality of this action, since we are not citizens of Kazakhstan) In the end, we peacefully separated from them and were not fined.
It seems that everything would be fine, even after the above described, we did not have an unpleasant aftertaste, we laughed, we understand that everything happens.
BUT probably, after such unpleasant moments, you expect a compliment from the institution, an apology for the inconvenience caused (since the institution positions itself as a HOOKAH BAR), and then they try to fine you 27 thousand tenge. (And it's like a 50 percent discount).
So, no one came up to us and said whether the hookah would be returned to us, there were no apologies for the inconvenience caused. In addition, the service was confused - the waiter came and took the plates and glasses WITHOUT ASKING if they could be taken away. When we said that we haven't finished yet, he says "I can return it"…Thank you, but there is no need to return our food from a tray with dirty dishes and a crumpled napkin thrown by the waiter into a plate with food… As a result, we were left sitting with an empty table, without a hookah, and no one offered us a menu, without specifying whether we wanted to order anything else.
They asked me to calculate it and went to another institution. As usual in Kazakhstan, the service fee is included, 12%. Unfortunately, it was impossible to refuse to pay the interest!
The evening left unpleasant impressions. I usually never leave bad reviews, I hope the administration of the institution will not ignore the review and will continue to be more attentive to customers.

This place belongs to the "fashionable", we can say that even "pretentious", come here to order a hookah, a couple of cocktails and take pictures all evening, the interior is beautiful. The staff is friendly, they serve quickly, they will tell you about the menu and the bar, but the kitchen and cocktails are more like a club place. The check may be different, it all depends on your preferences in alcohol and hookah, the average check is from $ 25 per person.

We came in bad weather, we were planted and given a menu. They asked for a blanket, they said OK. After 7 to 10 minutes of waiting, they just got up and left. There were a lot of employees, as usual, everyone was standing in a bunch and discussing something. Since the time was about 16.00 and there were few people, the staff had more important things to do. In a nearby restaurant, we had a quick and delicious meal. I do not recommend it

I celebrated my birthday at this institution. The furniture itself is modern, the sofas are soft and clean, and the whole room is also clean. According to the menu, I would not say that something unusual is served, almost the same as everywhere else. Caesar is like Caesar, Greek, salad with crispy eggplant, although they are not so crispy, maybe when they cook crispy, but we ate it after a while. When we first arrived, the waiters escorted us to the place, paid attention, but then they seemed to forget about us, until they called, they did not even come up. However, in the future, the waiter Aitzhan served us, he was well done, he was friendly and attentive, thank you for that, but he could not find us a place on the terrace, because it was stuffy in the hall, the air conditioners obviously could not cope with the heat, although one was right next to us. Bad exhaust - hookah smoke did not go into the hood but went down. In general, the kitchen and bar came out for about 120,000 tenge, which is about 18 dishes in total, a bottle of wine, tequila, beer and 2 hookahs.
Overall, everything went pretty well. But if you book a table, it's better to take it on the terrace.

I have nothing to compare it with specifically in Almaty, in this institution for the first time I was and liked the kitchen, the portions are large (ramen and quesadilla), the staff is quite polite and attentive. They were transferred from the veranda to the hall, as there were plans to smoke a hookah, but in general it's even better, it's already cool outside. The hookah is excellent. The institution deserves to be visited again.

I have been visiting this institution for a year since 2023 and every time I left from 100k to 200k there, but my patience came to an end on February 24, despite the fact that I turned a blind eye to many mistakes (of course they occur everywhere in other institutions), but when you came on Saturday after the opening of the institution and you are the only visitor in this case, it is already possible to draw conclusions about the service, since the usual excuse from the manager and waiters is that the hall is overloaded, the kitchen cannot cope with orders ... and therefore we cannot cope, unfortunately for the Mongol it no longer works!!!!!
I don't see the point in wasting time describing what and how - my assessment is very negative

The kitchen is mediocre. The name of the institution hints at the fact that you can see dishes of national cuisine and specialties on the menu, but in fact it is a combined hodgepodge from standard menus where "everything at once". For me, it would be better to make seasonal compact menus than to keep this tolmut.
By the way, the hosper river trout was not of the best quality, I know the taste of clean fresh trout. And the salad and cabbage that was served on the side dish was prepared strongly in advance.
The musical accompaniment was great, thanks to the DJ. The interior is interesting, it feels like a lot of money has been invested.

It's a good place, popular. There is a hookah on the summer playground, table reservations of 20 and 40 thousand tenge, but the two of us, without any hookah, quietly wove 50 thousand. The prices are high. The waiters are not intrusive, you call them with a button, if necessary, and so, once again, they do not fit, they do not bother.
