One of the oldest monasteries in Georgia. Current. We were only on the territory and looked outside: there was a funeral service going on inside, after all, this is for loved ones...
God is wonderful in his saints. It made an indelible impression on me. Morning services are at 10, but when it gets hot, they are postponed to 9 in the summer (or maybe even earlier). We need to find out.
Interesting architecture. Beautiful views. Very intrusive guides, even more intrusive priests, are you Orthodox? And obviously Christians have long forgotten the parable of the one they pray to, about merchants and money changers in the temple, they arranged mountains of money in the niches of the walls, it looked vulgar and unpleasant.
The monasteries in Georgia are all beautiful and ancient, and the decoration in them is asceticism, not like in the ROC. And the monks are not all in gold.

A must-visit! Here are the relics of Gabriel's mother, who helps all those who turn to him for help. During the day, there are a lot of people who come to him from all over the world
One of the great places on earth where you can touch something unearthly. Especially at the relics of Elder Gabriel Urgebadze, who said, "My Cross is the whole of Georgia and half of Russia."
A wonderful salted place. Here you forget about everything mundane...you purify your soul...I want to lean against the wall of the monastery and soak up all the spiritual wealth that has accumulated within its walls over the centuries...Gabriele's beloved Mom..I really dream of coming here more often.Unfortunately, this year it is not possible at all, because the borders are closed due to the pandemic. But we hope that with the intercession and prayers of Gabriel of Samtaur, the restrictions will be lifted and we will be able to come to this wonderful place, pray with Faith and Hope and Gratitude to the Lord for Everything🙏🙏🙏
The unforgettable atmosphere of the monastery!
The monastery is active. The sisters are always ready to help and prompt, answer questions in Georgian, Russian and, I think, English. The relics of St. Gabriel rest in the Cathedral.
There is a chapel on the territory (on the site of the house where St. Nino lived). There is also a small operating museum.
